WSP is currently initiating a search for a Principal Architect to work in our office in Atlanta, Georgia . As a Principal Architect you will work independently supporting internal and external clients, vendors, project stakeholders, and partners throughout various stages of project delivery. This opportunity requires a combination of skills that are essential to the success in achieving the goals expected not only of the position, but of the mission of WSP as well.
This candidate will provide oversight of the architectural design team to develop high quality designs on time and on budget. Provides a high level of technical assistance and guidance for planning, concept development, restoration, alteration, extension, and implementation of creative, functional, and sustainable building designs and/or construction of projects in the public and private sector. Tasks include conceptually visualizing projects, and preparing drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and contract documents. The candidate is also expected to engage in developing and presenting design proposals, interface with clients, substantiates reports and documentation to advise on material, installations, project feasibility, construction means, and technology. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, structural integrity, and occupancy.
Your Impact
Prepare detailed drawings for more complex and larger-scale projects showing the external and internal appearances, along with structure.
Provide guidance with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from the physical work site, surveys, blueprints, GIS data, subsurface utility information, maps, environmental data, historical use, and other matrices for project development, design, and construction.
Perform professional architectural work and conduct research and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, resources, buildings, infrastructure, transportation channels, and operations to determine conformance with applicable rules and standards, associated with construction or operating permits.
Provide oversight of multiple projects in the development of building construction documents, specifications, timelines, and cost estimates; updating design documents that require coordination with owners, other disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients.
Involved from project inception to completion in the management of design, development, construction, and restoration of building and infrastructure projects, ensuring durability of materials and structural soundness from loads and pressures caused by environmental or human influence.
Develop and incorporate advanced technologies, building materials, modeling techniques, design requirements, and operating strategies to account for the safety and functionality of occupants, and end users; implementing future-ready solutions with architectural design standards.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture
20+ years of relevant post education experience in the learned discipline.
Experience in the design and project delivery of commercial, industrial, and advanced manufacturing facilities.
Demonstrate experience working in a supervisory capacity, or leading large multidisciplinary design teams.
Essential professional licensure/certification credentials and professional affiliations (e.g.) AIA, NCARB, CSI, CCS, LEED Accredited
Highly proficient with architectural principles, practices, process, and the application to project work-related issues.
Knowledge and experience with building planning, drawing standards, design, and construction management; including active involvement in a variety of restorative and new design projects.
Knowledge and experience with technical writing, understanding of MasterFormat, and the development of project manuals and contract specifications through the use of MasterSpec or SpecLink.
Demonstrate problem solving ability, creative thinking, visualization, and technical drawing skills.
Provide support to the capture manager in developing fee proposals for project pursuits and managing staffing resources.
Working knowledge of principles and concepts for sustainability and green building design. Demonstrate knowledge behind reducing and eliminating the use of hazardous substances and greenhouse gases.
Well-defined specific knowledge of relevant building and construction laws, building codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
Well-developed ability to make technical computations and calculations involving the application of architectural principles, understanding plans and specifications, and making factual comparisons and illustrations to the appropriate regulations.
Ability to plan and conduct inspections and investigations during various phases of the construction and design of buildings, facilities, or structures, associated with applicable regulations, policies, and requirements.
Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non-technical audience.
Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing junior level architects, designers, and others to complete tasks effectively, efficiently, and completely.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Architecture or related discipline is preferred.
Experience in the planning and design of Industrial, and Advanced Manufacturing Facilities. Experience with Cleanroom design is desired but not required.

WSP is currently initiating a search for a District Project Accounting Supervisor for our Earth & Environment East Region.
Experienced supervisor-level senior project accountant and finance professional performing in the role of district project accounting supervisor or in the role of a very senior Project Accountant with a large degree complexity and/or as subject matter expert. In addition to maintaining a project portfolio of their own, responsible for supervising other project accountants, auditing other project accounting staff work and assessing skills sets and developmental needs. Responsible for integrating a mixed team of Project Financial Analysts from two separate accounting systems into new Global ERP. Collaborates and partners with business leaders to engage in portfolio-based review and analysis of financial performance of projects, reporting on key and secondary financial metrics, providing recommendations for addressing problem project corrective strategies, and overseeing invoicing and revenue recognition efforts. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards, supporting the delivery of future-ready solutions to clients.
Your Impact
- For individual project portfolio, manage and analyze the collection, recording, and allocating project costs and revenue, ensuring accurate project margin calculations, and communicating project financial performance and profitability to project/program management.
- Ensure complete understanding of all contract terms and conditions.
- Responsible for lifecycle project accounting for larger and/or multi-faceted complex projects involving ensuring the WBS is sufficient to properly capture and track financial performance and properly calculate revenue and bill plans in Oracle Fusion, monitoring and forecasting project performance, reconciling project payables and receivables to project budgets, reviewing billing to ensure contract compliance adherence, performing necessary overhead adjustments, assisting with audits and ensuring proper revenue recognition.
- Oversight of projects assigned to their team with regards to invoicing life cycle and metrics, ensuring complete and accurate delivery of invoicing submitted by project accounting team; communicating and collaborating with Billing Department to resolve issues.
- Monitor key financial indicators on projects assigned to their team, evaluating financial performance, identifying potential problems and helping to mitigate any potential issues, investigating further as needed.
- Monitor/analyze revenue and WIP balances for projects under their purview, communicating and collaborating with district business leaders to resolve issues.
- Provide recommendations to senior Finance management regarding the potential write-off of any project-related receivables and any large unplanned non-billable costs or potential margin erosions.
- Become proficient in Horizon and able to teach and coach junior staff.
- Attend or coordinate project related meetings to inform the team regarding the current status of project financials, completing or following up on any identified actions as discussed; attends management or district level meetings to report on the current status of project financials.
- Supervise, train and mentor project accountants within District Level responsibility on financial analysis, the development of reports, and interpretation of analyses done on projects and other tasks as mentioned above.
- Oversee the preparation and submittal of government reports, bill rate schedule development/renewals, large complex pricing reviews and formal audit responses related to projects, participating in meetings and communication with internal and external auditors.

Your Impact

This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Deputy Project Manager / Quality Management for our New York City, NY office.

This role provides leadership within a sector of organization to ensure transit and rail engineering subject matter, technical deliverables, infrastructure projects and programs are delivered with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry and company standards for design, safety, and functionality. Responsible for SME innovation and administration, ensuring corporate compliance with all Local, State, and Federal engineering, construction, and safety regulations, and providing pragmatic direction to address current and future challenges in a rapidly-changing and complex business climate.
Your Impact
Provide proactive and strategic leadership for the transit and rail engineering discipline and function, offering direction, expertise, and support to ensure project and work site deliverables are successfully achieved within the business sector.
Perform engineering review of permit applications, engineering design plans and specifications, standby plans and engineering contracts, integrated management plans, and periodic construction inspections, to ensure that they comply with applicable state and/or federal regulations and sound engineering practice and standards.
Lead larger-scale more complex transit and rail engineering projects ensuring contributors know what they are required to do and by when, preparing and overseeing relevant project budgets, monitoring external events, tracking hours and expenses, ensuring satisfactory performance, and supervising subcontractors, contract work, and employees.
Responsible for the pursuit and development of business and the successful execution of work for current and potential infrastructure work within a geography specifically for the large projects within the area.
Lead technical aspects of contract negotiation, presentations, and meetings.
Support the overall long-term strategy, growth, and pipeline development of Transit and Rail Engineering work for WSP in assigned area of responsibility, with a focus on infrastructure opportunities in all disciplines (planning, design, strategic consulting, and program/construction management).
Responsible for the profitable performance of the individual projects and the successful completion of the projects within the specified area.
Assist with the preparation of an annual update to business tactical action plans within the specified area.
Meet with various public or private entities or individuals to discuss issues relating to a variety of engineering/construction challenges and programs.
Ensure that engineering discipline certifications, accreditations, and value proposition is developed and continuously improved.
Conduct needs analyses and client value surveys to align the engineering discipline's function with business and project strategy, identifying and addressing any skill gaps or risks within the sector business operations.
Schedule engineering discipline meetings, providing updates and recommendations to ensure that all reasonable and proper measures are taken to inculcate discipline expertise and innovation into project work.
Serve as one of the engineering discipline's lead representatives/liaison to a variety of external entities including Federal, State, and Local Agencies, Clients, Subcontractors, industry-related groups, and various government and community entities.
Develop and inform proposal and project scopes, timelines, pricing, and budgetary metrics - and accountable for planning, development and management of projects in compliance with all applicable City/State/Federal codes and regulations, and in accordance with all acceptable engineering practices.
Interpret and summarize data, including reports and documents that result in sound engineering and regulatory conclusions.
Provide verbal and/or written inputs to multi-disciplinary project teams and contribute to providing high level strategic advice to clients.
Develop a client base for providing high level transit and rail engineering services including identifying additional business development opportunities, and cross-selling of other WSP capabilities.
Mentor staff to support their growth and professional development.
Manage and provide performance guidance and leadership to assigned staff.
Remain current in latest transit and rail engineering techniques and practices.
Collaborate with professionals from a variety of disciplines to provide -trusted advisor- service and future ready solutions for clients.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline.
12+ years of relevant post education experience in engineering, prior transit and rail experience, and infrastructure design.
Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
Project management and quality management experience leading a team of quality engineers, inspectors, and assessors.
Proven experience in performing quality audits (e.g., ISO 9001 or equivalent) and manufacturing process audits.
Served in a quality manager role and have provided quality support on projects, inclusive of tracking vendor and supplier performance.
Evaluated product and process quality issues, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions.
Developed, delivered, and enhanced quality management systems through continuous improvement
Advanced proficiency with transit and rail engineering principles, practices, process, and design/build, standard of care, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.
Strong working knowledge of FRA, FTA, CPUC, AREMA, and other rail regulatory standards and procedures, codes, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements, and the business impact upon the organization.
Advanced proficiency with making technical computations and calculations involving the application of engineering principles, understanding plans and specifications and making factual comparisons to the appropriate regulations.
Works independently and provides guidance and leadership to mid-level to senior level team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively, persuasively, and tactfully interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
Tactical lateral thinking and strong analytical skills with attention to detail and prioritization of responsibilities in a pressure work environment.
Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including senior management, clients, regulators, and company-wide staff, including those with whom no formal hierarchical relationship exits.
Advanced proficiency with office automation, discipline-specific design software (i.e., MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, OpenRail), technology, math principles, predictive models, spreadsheets, and tools.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Strong ability to quickly adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility to a variety of schedules and hours to meet business needs.
Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Engineering.
Strong experience in managing the review and approval of documents and discipline-specific deliverables, certifications, processes, and plans in a multi-project environment is highly desirable.

Provides professional accounting and financial specialist support to a project team, reviewing and evaluating project charges for accuracy, completing cost transfers, establishing and updating funding as needed, instituting and maintaining project budgets, and ensuring that all project data is current. Generates accurate and concise documentation regarding infrastructure/transportation/professional services projects within Oracle, providing pre-billing information for project manager review, and are accountable for independently reviewing, providing QA/QC on invoices including recommendations to PM and ensuring compliance with the contract. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards, supporting the delivery of future-ready solutions to clients.
Your Impact
Works independently to manage and analyze the collection, recording, and allocation of project costs and revenue; ensuring accurate project profit and loss calculations, budget vs. actual cost, and developing and providing project financial performance and profitability to project/program management.
Responsible for lifecycle project accounting from creating project accounts in Oracle, to tracking projects and project budget, validating invoicing, project close-out, and reconciling overall project payables and receivables to project budgets.
Perform detailed and involved accounting tasks related to managing project contract revenue, billing events, and billing transaction exceptions.
Partner with the Project Manager and project team to establish the project budget, updating budgets as needed when contract modifications or budget changes arise.
Generate project financial reports, evaluating the reports for any items that need to be escalated for review by the Project Manager as necessary.
Authorize access to project accounts, and the transfer of expenses into and out of project-related accounts in compliance with established accounting practices and guidelines.
Maintain quality control standards and procedures for generating accurate and precise project-related financial records using Oracle, spreadsheets, and software.
For assigned projects, apply learned accounting expertise relating to project resources, labor and expenses, investigating project variances and submitting variance reports to management.
Verify contract and change order characteristics, including reading and interpreting contract language, method of compensation, modifications, purchase orders, and subcontract/consultant terms.
Responsible for ensuring draft invoices from billing are accurate based on the contract requirements agreed upon with the client, identifying any corrections needed, obtaining Project Manager documentation and signature, and finalizing the invoice approval with the Project Manager/billing team and submits the invoice to the client.
Subcontract management and coordination with Contract Administrators. This includes evaluating subconsultant invoice submittals for accuracy, establish and maintain purchase orders for subconsultants, and request and follow up on subcontractor payment requests with Accounts Payable.
Identify and record unpaid contract billings, following up on any delinquent accounts receivable and/or unbilled costs.
Respond to requests for more detail from clients, investigate all project expenses not billed to clients, and review and approve all project-related billings to clients.
Attend project-related meetings to inform the team regarding the current status of project financials, articulating problem projects and following up on any identified actions as discussed.
Create and submit government reports related to projects.
Compile information for review by a more Senior Consultant prior to submitting for internal and external auditors as required.
Remain current in latest project accounting principles and subject matter.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or closely-related discipline (or demonstrated proven equivalent experience).
1 to 3 years of relevant post education experience in accounting, project contracts and change order documents.
Knowledge of project accounting principles, practices, and methods and their application to project work-related issues.
Developing an analytical mindset with an ability to exercise sound independent judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions with financial implications to the company.
Capable interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an accounting and non-accounting audience.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
Proficient with technical writing, office automation and accounting software, technology, math principles, spreadsheets, MS Excel, pivot tables, formulas, data format/sort/filter, predictive models, and tools.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply learned subject matter and technical knowledge to reach conclusions from data collation, documentation, statistical analysis, and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution.
