Batteries Plus Bulbs in Chico, California is hiring Customer Service/Repair Technicians at the store. The ideal candidates will be comfortable with small electronic device repair, exhibit retail sales skills, possess excellent customer service and relationship building skills, demonstrate a basic understanding of electronics, and possess an ability to communicate with management.
This position offers the ability to get in on the ground floor of an exciting new opportunity with Batteries Plus Bulbs.
In addition to the repair technician responsibilities, the successful candidates will also be a team member responsible for selling all of the products associated with the Batteries Plus Bulbs operation.
Device Repair Technician Duties:
Repair cell phones, tablets, and other devices as needed (training provided.)
Receive, pack and ship these devices
Maintain proper inventory
Retail Sales Associate - Customer Service Duties:
Greet customers promptly, determine needs and answer questions.
Assist retail and commercial customers in the purchase of batteries and light bulbs. (training provided)
Ask questions to identify potential commercial customers.
Replace batteries in vehicles, watches, key fobs, cell phones, and more. (training provided)
Answer phones, assist callers, and ensure messages are relayed in a timely, accurate manner.
Load, unload, and deliver or arrange delivery of products.
Maintain proper inventory by stocking and facing shelves.
Add-on and upsell product.
Maintaining store appearance and cleanliness
Develop and maintain current knowledge of product and service offerings
Adhere to general and specific safety standards
Engage as a "can-do" team member. Proactively follow through on commitments and/or tasks needing to be performed.
Qualifications:
H.S. diploma/equivalent plus 3-6+ months of customer service experience preferred.
Demonstrated technical aptitude. Able to quickly pick up on new processes and technologies
Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to effectively manage and track multiple commitments; effectively prioritize, follow up, and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and customer service skills; strong customer service focus; ability to inform, teach, and train.
Ability to calculate simple math, percents, ratios and algebraic expressions and read gauges.
Working conditions are typical for a retail environment.
This position requires the employee to regularly use hands to handle or touch electronic products. The position also requires the employee to regularly use a computer and other office equipment, as well as tools.
This position requires lifting 10-20lbs on a regular and frequent basis, 50lbs on an occasional basis, and more than 50lbs on an infrequent basis.

TheFranchise Relations & Administration Managerat Batteries Plus will develop, implement and maintain all franchise administration elements, processes and programs to obtain company objectives. Responsibilities:
Franchise Administration
Administer the annual UFOC filing. Compile requested changes; annually present recommendations to senior executives regarding implications and downstream effects of making changes. Collaborate with the legal team to craft the final language. Track approvals of State filings.
Create the franchise agreement process. Manage processes to ensure uniform execution.
Coordinate sales of stores, transfers of ownership and all other franchise agreement administrative responsibilities.
Act as liaison between current and new franchisees to ensure completion of sales fall within acceptable company guidelines
Define franchise-operating standards. Ensure that all franchisees are meeting these standards and develop accountability standards.
Communicate non-compliance issues and negotiate resolutions within internal departments and franchise owners.
Manage processes to validate standards and resolutions are being applied consistently.
Act as primary contact to franchise administration legal counsel.
Provide Support functions to the franchise development team.
Franchise Relations
Develop franchise agreement renewal process. Use independent judgment and latitude to manage franchisee expectations and to minimize conflict, while maintaining positive working relationships.
Organize and direct the Company's franchisee events, meetings, and recognition including: conventions, regional meetings, workshops, recognition trips, and awards. Lead individuals and teams to ensure project budgets, milestones, timelines and objectives are met.
Coordinate completion and maintenance of administration materials, i.e. Operations Manual.
Maintain Franconnect as repository of all communications and records management
Qualifications:
6-8 years+ of franchise management and administration experience; must include direct interaction with small business owners, or as a small business owner
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Communications
Extensive work with legal counsel and contractual matters
Preferred Qualifications:
Franchise management and administration experience in the retail industry
Working knowledge of retail, franchise and general business operations including accounting, purchasing, sales, marketing and inventory management strongly desired
Demonstrated negotiation and conflict management skills
Process oriented with strong project management skills; capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously
Proven ability to make presentations to senior management, groups of employees or customers with ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language

Photography & Image Retouching
Organize and prep products for product photoshoots
Capture images consistent in color, lighting & quality
Retouch images to remove dust, scratches, or blemishes on products or packaging
Use Adobe Photoshop actions to batch process images cropping, resizing, and saving files optimized for web
Set and maintain product photography standards and product asset style guides for the company
Retouch vendor images to our web standards by clipping the images out to maintain a white background, as well as resizing them
Asset & Sample Management
Utilize appropriate digital asset management techniques to streamline the process from studio to use
Accurately organize and manage asset library during processing to ensure ease of future use for all company purposes through tagging and filing
Assign and maintain assets as applicable to product features, digital merchandising, and other online sources of traffic
Order samples from suppliers as needed to capture images, organize storage and repackage for return

Vendor Relations

Associate's Degree in Marketing, Graphic Design or Photography
2+ years related experience in photography, retouching and graphic design in a high volume, deadline-driven environment

Store Manager Qualifications
Minimum H.S. diploma/equivalent; Advanced degree in business or retail management preferred
Minimum 3-5 years of retail management experience, preferably within a durable goods setting. Experience must include commercial (outside) sales
Strong oral and written communication skills
Able to effectively manage confrontational situations in a controlled and courteous manner
Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks and meet deadlines
Strong technical aptitude; a basic understanding of electronics. Must have the ability to accurately read gauges and work with hands
Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record
Must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business including peak seasons and special events. This includes the ability to work at multiple store locations, as needed.

Responsibilities:
Product Management
Execute on projects and tasks to support overall business unit strategies.
Coordinate information and communication needed to support the product line - including bringing new products to market, making vendor changes, and discontinuing product. Use systems to run ad hoc and regular reporting to support everyday and strategic initiatives of the business unit.

Use basic financial skills and vendor/competitor data to make pricing recommendations to the Product Management team on new and existing products.
Develop deep product knowledge for the business unit and act as a resource for internal and external inquiries. Respond to inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
Partner with Data Management to ensure product data is accurate and look for opportunities to improve content. Provide accurate and timely Item Set Up to Data Management and Demand Planning to set up new products.
Work with Marketing, Sourcing, QA and other teams to generate accurate and timely spec/sell sheets and product packaging. Manage the market request and review process.
Bid Support
Partner with Sales Effectiveness Coaches, Product Management team and vendors to provide bid pricing to stores, within a quick turn-around time. Make recommendations to the Product Management team, Sales Effectiveness Coaches and stores on pricing, alternative products, and alternative vendors.
Build relationships, inform and negotiate with vendors to gain bid support.
Maintain accurate records of bid information.
Work with internal teams and systems to ensure bid pricing is provided to stores once an opportunity is won.
Create business unit specific bid reports or summaries, as needed.
Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in Marketing, Business or related field
2+ years product/market development, market research or related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business or related field
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Suites, specifically Excel

We are open Monday - Friday 8AM- 7PM Saturday 9AM - 7PM , Sunday 10 AM - 5PM.

YOUR LIFE AS A RETAIL SALES ASSOCIATE / DEVICE REPAIR TECHNICIAN
You arrive for each shift excited to meet new people and sell products, services, and solutions. Any clerk can sell a pack of AA batteries, but you are a trusted advisor that can recommend the right battery for the application whether it's a cell phone, truck, or recreational vehicle. You also answer inbound phone calls and happily answer customer questions. You love chatting with people and are able to make personal connections easily to ensure that every customer feels welcome and valued.
You get to use your mechanical skills to repair our customers' cell phones, tablets, and other devices. Your experience has given you the confidence to assist our customers with their technology troubles. You feel good about representing a company with a solid reputation and playing an important part in their success.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
Dependable transportation
Customer service and retail sales experience are preferred, but not required. Do you have strong communication skills? Are you friendly with excellent customer service skills?
