Job Description

  • GENERAL SUMMARY

  • The Centralized Nurse Triage - LPN is responsible for performing successful telephone assessment of a pediatric patient's condition over the phone using established guidelines/protocols within the scope of practice and under the clinical guidance/supervision of the RN and/or Medical Director. Reports to designated RN Manager.

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Obtains an accurate medical history, determines chief complaint, and provides appropriate disposition of the patient.

  • Answers the caller's questions, and provides pertinent advice and education.

  • Provides reassurance and direction to the caller.

  • Completes follow up as needed per policy.

  • Follows laws, policies, and regulatory requirements governing healthcare services and practices.

  • LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS

  • Current Virginia state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Practical Nurse holding a valid Compact State license required.

  • One to two years of clinical experience required.

Regular exposure to radiation. Minimum chance of injury once established safety procedures are followed. Ability to stand for long periods of time wearing a lead apron. Ability to lift or turn disabled patients. Although radiation hazards exist in this occupation, they are minimized by the use of lead aprons, gloves, and other shielding devices, and by instruments monitoring exposure to radiation. Radiation exposure badges must be worn to measure radiation levels in the radiation area.

Job Description

  • GENERAL SUMMARY

  • Plans, provides, and monitors individualized nursing care in response to specific patient needs within a defined scope of practice. Provides developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care respective to the assigned patient population. Reports to departmental management.

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care.

  • Plans, provides, and monitors specific patient needs following established policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Communicates and collaborates effectively with all members of the healthcare team.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS

  • Current Virginia state license as a Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license.

  • MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have an Associates in Nursing/Diploma in Nursing with applicable experience, however a BSN is preferred. If hired with an ADN, the candidate must complete a BSN program within three years from their date of hire.

  • RN certification preferred.

  • Pediatric experience preferred.

  • CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.

  • WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Expected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as, but not limited to, excessive noise, dust, or extremes in temperatures. Exposure to communicable diseases and moderately adverse working conditions due to the need to perform certain patient care activities can be expected.

Job Description

  • GENERAL SUMMARY

  • Under the supervision of department leadership, the Maintenance Tech I performs general, routine maintenance and service of the health system grounds, buildings and equipment. Responsibilities include inspection, preventative maintenance and repair of equipment, facilities and utility systems. Work is performed in accordance to departmental and manufacturers standards.

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs minor construction, landscaping and equipment installations.

  • Operates power operated equipment in the performance of job functions.

  • Records and updates documentation of repairs.

  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.

  • LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS

  • None required.

  • MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

  • Technical training and work experience in a trade.

  • Previous experience in general maintenance work.

  • Must meet the insurability policy requirements to drive a CHKD vehicle.

  • Must be able to pass the CHKD driving test within 30 days of employment.

  • Increased Security Clearance may be required: FBI fingerprinting, criminal background check, and Child Protective Services registry search.

  • WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work is performed inside and outside of the hospital in all weather conditions.
