The Design Engineer is responsible for engineering design using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute and coordinate assignments. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Essential functions and Responsibilities

  • Design and Oversee plans, estimates and specifications for compliance with FHWA, PennDOT and the city of Philadelphia's guidelines and standards

  • Develop construction documents including all aspects of highway and site design (geometrics, details, ADA criteria, roadway profiles, utility design and coordination, pavement markings, and maintenance of traffic, signage)

  • Perform design computations

  • Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools

  • Develop construction cost estimates

  • Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction

Required Skills
