The Flower Hospital campus is a 311-bed facility that houses the Hickman Cancer Center, ER Trauma Center, and is the regional leader for inpatient adult psychiatric services.
The Rapid Response RN has advanced clinical expertise through education and experience. The rapid response RN assesses and stabilizes the patient condition. Rapid response RN collaborates with direct care givers to organized clinical information for communication to the patient's provider.
Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or be working towards a degree (must complete the degree within 5 years).
Must be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries, requires effective interpersonal skills. Must be able to input and retrieve information from computer.
Must have a minimum of 5 years current experience in critical care, emergency room or advanced practice role.
Must be licensed in the State of Ohio to practice as a Registered Nurse.
Must maintain BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certification.

Full time position (4-5 days/week)
Established, busy ambulatory clinic located at the Medical Office Building on the campus of Toledo Hospital
Provides comprehensive medical services following a patient care medical home model
Interest in teaching/mentoring, collaborating with APPs
Possibly a leadership role within the office to assist with supervision of office providers and creating and enforcing clinical policies

Call Coverage: weekly rotation and after hours call

Provide comprehensive primary medical care to patients of all ages, including physical examinations, diagnosing, and treating acute and chronic illnesses, and prescribing medications.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient history, symptoms, and medical records.

POSITION SUMMARY The Respiratory Care Assistant will be competent to care for patients of all ages to include infants, children, adolescents, adult and geriatric population, dependent on the area assigned. The Respiratory Care Assistant is able to perform the skills/procedures validated by an accredited respiratory care program and approved by the state issuing the limited practice license, required by the assignment with supervision, according to regulatory standards, clinical practice guidelines, policies and procedures approved by the Medical Directors and Administration. This individual performs the duties and responsibilities outlined below as assigned, under supervision from the Respiratory Care Department leadership team and the Medical Directors of Respiratory Care. Standards of performance and skills for the areas to which the individual may be assigned must be maintained according to department policy. The individual must be committed to providing patients and families with a positive experience through compassionate care and excellent service, safely and efficiently. This individual will display professionalism at all times and maintain patient confidentiality.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Achieves and maintains a level of competency to perform prescribed therapeutic and diagnostic procedures within their scope of practice per business unit, in accordance to departmental competency standards, which include general care, critical care, emergency care, and diagnostic procedures, including, but not limited to, the following: - General Care: patient identification and assessment, medical gas delivery, medication administration via nebulizers and MDI/DPI, bronchopulmonary hygiene, and hyperinflation therapy - Critical Care: initiation, management and weaning of invasive and non-invasive ventilation; airway management and suction, including tracheostomy, endotracheal and pharyngeal; cuff and ETCO2 monitoring, intubation assist and extubation; set-up, calibration, and maintenance of arterial and central venous pressure lines - Emergency Care: responds to rapid responses and emergency codes, as required; performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), airway management, and actively participates in patient stabilization and internal transports - Diagnostic Care: blood sampling and analysis, specimen collection, continuous and/or noninvasive monitoring, bedside pulmonary function screens, spontaneous breathing parameters, electrocardiograms (EKG) o Note: critical tests and values will be reported in a timely manner per Hospital Policy.
Safely assembles, operates and trouble shoots therapeutic and diagnostic equipment required for patient care, including, but not limited to, the following: - Gas administration, monitoring and analyzing devices, including flow meters and regulators, blenders, cylinders and bulk systems, compressors, analyzers, and pulse oximeters - Mechanical devices, including mechanical ventilators, manometers, gauges, spirometers and EKG machines. - Age specific patient care equipment, including resuscitation equipment, oral and nasal airways, endotracheal and tracheal tubes - Equipment disinfection and sterilization
Understands and applies Respiratory Care Clinical Practice Guidelines, to provide safe, highly efficient, and cost effective care, using evidence based best practice.
Provide educational needs of patients on disease specific process, tobacco cessation and respiratory care services provided, including instruction for home care equipment and medications.
Assist with clinical instruction of respiratory care, nursing, and medical students and residents, as needed. Actively participates in the orientation of new staff and contributes to the growth of others
Understands and acts in accordance with all Respiratory Care and Hospital Policy and Procedures for those areas assigned and is able to with minimal supervision in those areas.
Completes accurate patient documentation, including billing and productivity standards. Participates in creating a plan of care, evaluate achievement of identified goals, record results and communicate pertinent information to appropriate members of the health care team
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested, within the scope of training and educational documentation as per Limited Permit
Education: Must be actively enrolled and in good standing, or a recent graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program
Skills: Must be able to input and retrieve computer information
License: If working in an Ohio facility, a current Limited Permit License to render respiratory care services by the Ohio Respiratory Care Board in the State of Ohio. Membership in the American Association of Respiratory Care and other professional organizations is desired.
Certification: Must hold current BLS certification

Be able to communicate and interact effectively and collaboratively with a variety of professionals, including physicians, nurses, care navigators and administrators, to promote a seamless patient care continuum. Be able to understand and comprehend directions and be able to communicate and respond to inquiries.
Have excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, problem solving and critical thinking skills. Take ownership of problems, handle stress in a professional and healthy manner, and make informed decisions. Adheres to the code of ethics set forth by state respiratory care boards.
Be dependable, reliable, and punctual in accordance with department attendance policy, including mandatory overtime and on-call rotation, as needed. Attends required and staff meetings, including in-services, in accordance with department policy. Must appear professional and abide by appropriate dress code policy.
Working Conditions
Personal Protective Equipment: Tolerate exposure to infectious diseases and follow infection prevention and control strategies.
Physical Demands: Be able to move about hospital and between workstations, efficiently and effectively. Must be able to occasionally and with assistance move heavy weight materials equipment, or patients.
Addendum
Cleaning/disinfecting/sterilizing equipment as needed
Managing oxygen cylinders, supplying to patient care areas as needed.
Assist with stocking areas of supplies, works with central supply to scan/stock areas as needed.
Unpacking delivery items and inventory control.
Other duties as assigned.
The above addendum is applicable to Respiratory Care Assistants who are enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy Program but are not yet eligible to obtain a limited permit to practice Respiratory Care in Ohio.
Respiratory Care Assistants will submit an application for a limited permit within 4 weeks of being eligible.

POSITION SUMMARY The Registered Respiratory Therapist will be competent to care for patients of all ages to include infants, children, adolescents, adult and geriatric population dependent on the area assigned. This individual performs the duties and responsibilities outlined below as assigned, under minimal supervision from the Respiratory Care Department leadership team and the Medical Directors of Respiratory Care. The Registered Respiratory Therapist performs these assigned duties and responsibilities according to regulatory standards, clinical practice guidelines, policies and procedures approved by the Medical Directors and Administration. This individual will frequently make independent decisions regarding modification of therapy in accordance with clinical practice guidelines, policies and procedures.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Achieves and maintains a level of competency to perform prescribed therapeutic and diagnostic procedures within their scope of practice, as required per business unit, in accordance to departmental competency standards, which include general care, critical care, emergency care and diagnostic procedures, including, but not limited to, the following: - General Care: patient identification and assessment, medical gas delivery, medication administration via nebulizers and MDI/DPI, bronchopulmonary hygiene and hyperinflation therapy - Critical Care: initiation, management, and weaning of invasive and non-invasive ventilation; airway management and suction, including tracheostomy, endotracheal and pharyngeal; cuff and ETCO2 monitoring, intubation and extubation; set-up, calibration, insertion (arterial lines) and maintenance of indwelling lines and catheters, and high risk newborn deliveries - Emergency Care: responds to rapid responses and emergency codes; performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), airway management, and actively participates in patient stabilization, internal and external transports - Diagnostic Care: blood sampling and analysis, specimen collection, continuous and/or noninvasive monitoring, bedside pulmonary function screens, spontaneous breathing parameters and electrocardiograms (EKG) Note: critical tests and values will be reported in a timely manner per Hospital Policy.
Safely assembles, operates and trouble shoots therapeutic and diagnostic equipment required for patient care, including but not limited to, the following: - Gas administration, monitoring and analyzing devices including flow meters and regulators, blenders, cylinders and bulk systems, compressors, analyzers, and pulse oximeters - Mechanical devices, including mechanical ventilators, manometers, gauges, spirometers and EKG machines. - Laboratory equipment for blood gas analysis - Age specific patient care equipment, including resuscitation equipment, oral and nasal airways, endotracheal and tracheal tubes - Equipment disinfection and sterilization
Understands and applies Respiratory Care Clinical Practice Guidelines, to provide safe, highly efficient and cost effective care, using evidence based best practice.
Provides educational needs of patients on disease specific process, tobacco cessation and respiratory care services provided, including instruction for home care equipment andmedications.
Assist with clinical instruction of respiratory care, nursing, medical students and residents, as needed. Actively participates in the orientation of new staff and contributes to the growth of others.
Understands and acts in accordance with all Respiratory Care and Hospital Policies and Procedures for those areas assigned and is able to independently function in those areas.
Completes accurate patient documentation, including billing and productivity standards. Participates in creating a plan of care, evaluate achievement of identified goals, record results and communicate pertinent information to appropriate members of the health care team

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reports to unit manager. Works under supervision of a Registered Nurse and in collaboration with other health care professionals.
POSITION SUMMARY
One on one nursing preceptorship to enhance nursing knowledge, awareness of nursing role, enhancing confidence, acclimation to environment, and socialization to the team. Under supervision of RN preceptor and in collaboration with other care professionals, assists in performing a variety of nursing care services for patients.
PROGRAM DETAILS
Work one on one with a registered nurse preceptor under direct supervision in the clinical setting. Engage in required didactic educational assignments as scheduled. Participation in progress evaluations required.
Upon completion of the orientation requirements, the nursing apprentice is required to work a minimum of 24 hours a month as a nursing apprentice until transition into the nursing residency in addition to ongoing educational requirements. If a nursing apprentice does not accept or receive a residency position during the designated hiring period for their anticipated graduation date, their position as a nursing apprentice will be transitioned out of the nursing apprentice program and into another appropriate position as available.
Must maintain enrollment in accredited nursing program during Nursing Apprenticeship with exception of graduation from the program and awaiting to take NCLEX exam.

Position Summary
Our Environmental Services Technicians are responsible for executing the daily duties required to establish and maintain a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing care environment. While executing the assigned tasks, the EVS Tech will have contact with patients, visitors, and clinical and non-clinical staff. Great customer service and a friendly can-do attitude will ensure your success. Our techs are responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of patient rooms and common areas throughout the Toledo Hospital campus within the basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention. The environmental services technician, in accordance with organizational standards of quality, is an essential contributor to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention and a positive patient experience.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning and disinfection of patient rooms, as well as other common areas of their job assignment such as rest rooms, nurses' stations, corridors, conference rooms, utility rooms, treatment areas, kitchens, offices, lobbies, lounges, stairwells and waiting rooms. Other assigned areas may include surgery OR's, labor and delivery, emergency department and other procedural areas.
Performs duties while demonstrating working knowledge of the health care cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements as well as proper and safe chemical use.
Adheres to all organization safety, risk management and infection control guidelines and standards while promoting a culture of safety.
Actively participates in departmental performance improvement initiatives, including but not limited to initiatives to improve patient experience and cleanliness metrics.
Maintains cleaning cart(s), supplies and equipment evidence by properly stocking and restocking environmental services cart in a neat and orderly fashion.
Removes trash and other waste and transports to the appropriate disposal area while identifying proper waste streams handling.
Follows all infection prevention practices (i.e. proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, as well as proper donning and doffing of personal protective equipment (PPE).

POSITION SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse assesses patients, coordinates the plan of care, implements orders, and evaluates the nursing care provided to oncology patients in a physician practice. Position Summary :

POSITION SUMMARY Perform cardiac imaging and other non-invasive cardiology procedures as performed by the Metro department where assigned.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Performs cardiac sonographic imaging and all necessary functions required to complete the procedure for interpretation.
Interacts with cardiologist and physicians as necessary for completion of the procedure.
Performs cardiac stress testing on patients with complete knowledge of different stress protocols and the computerized capabilities of the equipment used to perform the test.
Performs holter monitors and event monitors
Performs outpatient EKGs.
Takes call for echoes and TEEs after hours (as needed for inpatient facilities).
Serves as a resource for other technologists, students, and hospital staff
Accepts shifts where assigned within the Metro Region.
Performs other duties as directed.
Education: Associate degree in cardiovascular technology with a focus in cardiac imaging and/or 5 years' experience in the field of echocardiology.
Skills: Must be able to cope with stressful situations and handle deadlines in a demanding, fast paced medical environment. Must be competent in use of facility communication systems and equipment (e.g. phones, fax machines, etc.) Must be able to input and retrieve information from radiological or other medical equipment and computerized systems. Must be able to understand directions, communicate, and respond to inquiries. Must communicate effectively with patients and other health care professionals.
Years of Experience: 2 years
License: Must be registered as a diagnostic sonographer by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and must maintain active registry status. If not registered, must become registered within one year (see addendum).

Position Summary
Independently performs department-specific ultrasound procedures, performing a variety of technical procedures in the application of non-ionizing high frequency ultrasonic waves for diagnosis of disease to achieve quality work. Participates in research and educational activities.
Accountabilities
Independently performs all ultrasound procedures and on-call functions following established protocols. 2. Assists in training and evaluating student sonographers and new sonographers. 3. Obtains measurements and performs calculations. 4. Assists physicians in physician-performed/ultrasound-guided procedures. 5. Recognizes the significance of all structures that appear on the monitor. 6. Demonstrates ability to differentiate artifacts from normal or pathological processes, to recognize electronic equipment limitations, and to evaluate a diagnostic scan. 7. Checks equipment to ensure safe, efficient operating conditions. Reports any equipment malfunctions. 8. Maintains cleanliness of equipment and work area. Assures transducers are sterilized. 9. Demonstrates a high level of care, courtesy and cooperation. Educates patients about their procedure and ensures patients and their families' comfort and needs are appropriately addressed in a dignified, confidential manner. 10. Utilizes PACS digital imaging. 11. Demonstrates competency in using radiology information/imaging systems (RIS, PACS, etc.) for the purpose of correctly ordering exams, supplies and other data input. 12. Performs quality assurance/performance indicator data collection as required. 13. Maintains confidentiality of all patient data. 14. Demonstrates awareness of safety standards for self and assigned area. 15. Demonstrates competency and proficiency in imaging procedures performed on patients of all ages including neonate, infant, pediatric adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. 16. Follows organization's mission and values of customer service. 17. Performs other duties/tasks as assigned.
Must be registered as a diagnostic sonographer by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and must maintain active registry status. Required to take call on a rotational schedule; may be required to work off-shift, weekends, and/or off -site. Must be CPR certified. 2. Must be able to move about hospital and between workstations; lift, push, pull, bend and stoop. 3. Must be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries; communicate effectively with patients and other health care professionals. 4. Must be able to cope with stressful situations and handle deadlines in a demanding, fast-paced medical environment. 5. Must be able to frequently move, lift or carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs., 20% of the time. 6. Must be able to input and retrieve information from radiological or other medical equipment and computerized systems. 7. Must be able to differentiate colors and subtle sounds. 8. Must be able to work standing on feet at least 80% of the time. 9. Must be able to assist patients on and off examining tables. 10. Must be able to apply ultrasound transducers at angles and pressure appropriate to produce optimal images of patient anatomy. 11. Must be competent in use of facility communication systems and equipment (e.g. phones, fax machines, IBEX). 12. Must be able to tolerate wearing heavy lead aprons/vest for extended periods of time.
Working Conditions
Personal Protective Equipment: May be required to wear mask, gloves, or gown. Possible exposure to infectious and contagious disease, chemicals, toxic substances, and bloodborne pathogens from blood and/or bodily fluids.
Physical Demands: Must be able to see, hear, and move intermittently, or use prosthetics that will enable you to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Must be able to move about the facility and between workstations, standing, walking and lifting as required by position. May require irregular hours and will result in occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries. Must be able to tolerate possible exposure to radiation and electrical hazards, blood borne pathogens or bodily fluids. Must be able to tolerate wearing heavy protective garments for extended periods of time.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reports to unit manager. Works under supervision of a Registered Nurse and in collaboration with other health care professionals.
POSITION SUMMARY
One on one nursing preceptorship to enhance nursing knowledge, awareness of nursing role, enhancing confidence, acclimation to environment, and socialization to the team. Under supervision of RN preceptor and in collaboration with other care professionals, assists in performing a variety of nursing care services for patients.
PROGRAM DETAILS
Work one on one with a registered nurse preceptor under direct supervision in the clinical setting. Engage in required didactic educational assignments as scheduled. Participation in progress evaluations required.
Upon completion of the orientation requirements, the nursing apprentice is required to work a minimum of 24 hours a month as a nursing apprentice until transition into the nursing residency in addition to ongoing educational requirements. If a nursing apprentice does not accept or receive a residency position during the designated hiring period for their anticipated graduation date, their position as a nursing apprentice will be transitioned out of the nursing apprentice program and into another appropriate position as available.
Must maintain enrollment in accredited nursing program during Nursing Apprenticeship with exception of graduation from the program and awaiting to take NCLEX exam.
ACCOUNTABILITIES

Nursing Apprentice works under direct supervision of an RN preceptor
Perform duties related to nursing care and nursing process as noted in Table A: Role Functions of the Nursing Apprentice.

ROLE FUNCTIONS OF NURSING APPRENTICE
ASSESS
- Data collection & documentation of patient health status
- Participate in patient rounds
PLAN
- Reports observations about patient's condition to RN & physician
- Communicate with RN regarding Plan of Care & Patient/Family Education
- Communicates with RN regarding the organization of assignments based on priorities
IMPLEMENT
- Perform skills, treatments or interventions provided they have performed successful educational validation and delegation of RN preceptor
- Observes & discusses medication administration, IV therapy by the RN & other skills/interventions not authorized for Nursing Apprentice to perform
- May not receive physician orders
- May not delegate or supervise care
EVALUATE
- Reports noted changes to the registered nurse.
- Participate in personal clinical and didactic evaluation process
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Enrollment in an accredited nursing program and successful completion of first clinical semester.
Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) completed within orientation period.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Personal Protective Equipment: Must Demonstrate knowledge and use of standard precautions and personal protective equipment.
