This position performs installation, startup, and commissioning of building automation system equipment that has been newly installed. The objectives of building automation are improved occupant comfort, efficient operation of building systems, reduction in energy consumption and operating costs, and improved life cycle of utilities. You will complete verification and commissioning of complex system database and programming operations, ensuring consistency with the scope of work and sequence of operations. You will also be responsible for completing required project and service documentation. You will be responsible for high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, onsite customer interaction. You will diagnose and repair complex control system malfunctions, and you will serve as a subject matter expert to others. This role is a highly technical position that will offer our clients expert level installation of building automation controls primarily around commercial HVAC systems for data centers. This is a non-office-based position reporting to the Field Supervisor and Operations manager. This position will require approximately 75% travel within the continental US. Building Automation System/PLC experience is desired.

As a Building Automation Site Installation Technician, you will :

  • Review and provide feedback on customer data center building automation designs. Produce programs and test scripts to meet data center sequence of operations. Lead software and factory witness testing activities per the project requirements.

  • Attend pre-booking meetings to gain knowledge of the sales estimate and project scope. Analyze plans, specifications, and contract details to determine system requirements. Select products and determine appropriate placement to meet specifications.

  • Design small or medium sized building automation systems consisting of mechanical system layouts, electrical drawings, bills of materials, sequences of operations, valve and damper schedules, and DDC panel layouts to meet the intent of project plans, specifications, and contract documents.

  • Design network architecture to support operator workstations, DDC field panels, and third-party integration devices connected through Ethernet, Siemens P1, LonWorks, Modbus or BACNET.

  • Create automation system databases and job-related programming for computer-based building control systems. Establish special calibration instructions on selected equipment. Oversee the creation of system graphics. Troubleshoot issues, including identifying and debugging software, and diagnosing electrical or pneumatic installation problems.

  • Organize and maintain job documentation. Prepare engineering re-estimate reports.

  • Provide on-site assistance with or perform programming, start-up, checkout, commissioning, and validation processes. Participate in job site final walk-through, complete all job closeout documentation, and provide customer training.

  • Act as technical resource to customers and field employees.

  • Coordinate work with subcontractors.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree preferred.

  • Experience installing or servicing HVAC controls systems; 7+ years preferred.

  • Building Automation Systems/PCL experience desired

  • Demonstrated experience in various controls programming language. BAS/PLC programming preferred.

  • Knowledge of engineering fundamentals, HVAC, mechanical systems, business operations, and job financial reports.

  • Able to read/interpret electrical circuit diagrams.

  • Skilled in programming, job start-up, checkout, and troubleshooting complex projects.

  • Demonstrated experience in the integration of low voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols such as BACNet, N2, Modbus, etc.

  • Ability to work in a variety of circumstances, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment, working in ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions.

  • Must be able to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet.

  • Must be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted.

  • Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our customers.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and AutoCAD

  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English

Fire Alarm System Inspectors play a vital role in preventing, detecting, and mitigating the impact of fires. You will perform tasks such as minor repairs and visual and functional testing on fire alarm systems in accordance with all national and local standards. In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will also act as a mentor, providing on-the-job training to entry level fire alarm inspectors, fostering a culture of growth and knowledge-sharing within our team. As a Fire Alarm Systems Inspector, you will:

  • Follow and maintain high structured inspection schedules providing inspection, testing, and performing minor service and deficiency repairs for fire alarm equipment to comply with NFPA72 standards as well as state and local codes. Note deficiencies, remedies, and review pricing with customers. Complete service ticket documentation before leaving the customer site. Follow-up on corrective actions

  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all tests performed. Generate reports within Siemens tools and upload to city municipality websites

  • Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding proper operation and routine inspections. Assist with training

  • Work overtime when needed, and maintain stock, tools, and equipment in vehicles

  • Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures

  • Complete required training and certifications within the time requirements for this role

Basic Qualifications:

You'll make an impact by:

  • Leading and managing the Project Management Office team

Lead the charge as a member of our Smart Infrastructure Project Management Team:

As a SkillBridge Intern in our Project Management career track, you will coordinate and deliver multiple, simultaneous Building Automation, Fire/Life Safety, or Integrated Security projects of various complexities in commercial buildings. You will also strategically manage fiscal responsibility for all project facets, including project billing, job cost reporting, and overall customer satisfaction. Our Project Management SkillBridge Interns will be trained to provide expertise and knowledge throughout the New Construction (Solutions) or Existing Construction (Service) project lifecycle at customer sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and understand project contract, specifications, drawings, and project-specific documents to establish project intent.

  • Develop and maintain a project schedule and coordinate needs with the project team. Identify time-sensitive installation needs.

  • Manage the requisition of supplies and materials to complete projects.

  • Review plans and specifications and participate in project cost reviews.

  • Assist Operations Manager in the solicitation and contracting of subcontractors.

  • Conduct an orientation for project technicians and provide all necessary project documentation, including scope of work, drawings, applicable specifications, application-engineered drawings, project contacts, etc.

  • Track resources and project progress.

  • Document project events that impact the schedule, scope of work, and project efficiency.

  • Pursue project-specific change-order opportunities.

  • Coordinate and pursue project-specific billing, coordinate with Accounting team and Operations Manager.

  • Schedule project-specific commissioning resources and provide commissioning documentation.

  • Expedite the return of project-specific mark-ups for as-built development.

  • Complete project-specific close-out documentation.

Qualifications:

. U.S. Military experience as an E4 or above (Navy, Air Force, Army, Marines, Coast Guard, Space Force, National Guard, Reserves)

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED required; Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Knowledge of Building Automation Controls, Fire/Life Safety or Security systems, business operations, and job financial reports preferred

  • For positions related to Fire/Life Safety: knowledge of NFPA codes and ability to obtain certification in NICET II is preferred but not required

  • PMP Certification preferred but not required

  • Ability to read/interpret electrical circuit diagrams is a plus

  • Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project experience preferred

This position performs installation, startup, and commissioning of building automation system equipment that has been newly installed. As a Building Automation Site Installation Technician, you will :

  • Review and provide feedback on customer data center building automation designs. Produce programs and test scripts to meet data center sequence of operations. Lead software and factory witness testing activities per the project requirements.

  • Attend pre-booking meetings to gain knowledge of the sales estimate and project scope. Analyze plans, specifications, and contract details to determine system requirements. Select products and determine appropriate placement to meet specifications.

  • Design small or medium sized building automation systems consisting of mechanical system layouts, electrical drawings, bills of materials, sequences of operations, valve and damper schedules, and DDC panel layouts to meet the intent of project plans, specifications, and contract documents.

  • Design network architecture to support operator workstations, DDC field panels, and third-party integration devices connected through Ethernet, Siemens P1, LonWorks, Modbus or BACNET.

  • Create automation system databases and job-related programming for computer-based building control systems. Establish special calibration instructions on selected equipment. Oversee the creation of system graphics. Troubleshoot issues, including identifying and debugging software, and diagnosing electrical or pneumatic installation problems.

  • Organize and maintain job documentation. Prepare engineering re-estimate reports.

  • Provide on-site assistance with or perform programming, start-up, checkout, commissioning, and validation processes. Participate in job site final walk-through, complete all job closeout documentation, and provide customer training.

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the marketplace, competitor offerings, customers, and decision influencers across the region, segments, and verticals within the region. Keep current on fire and life safety market business and product trends

  • Develop a geographic and vertical market account management plan that focuses on strategic growth. Identify new business opportunities to grow in new markets or adjacent segments and develop -go to market- strategies to drive business to the standard construction channel and the end user customer

  • Develop and maintain a qualified funnel of opportunities. Achieve new order/booking and profit goals. Deliver on forecasted results consistently

  • Collaborate with operations and internal teams to deliver excellent customer outcomes

  • Partner with other sales division teams to plan, target, and acquire new projects and accounts.

  • Attend industry-specific networking events; actively participate in professional organizations such as NFPA, NFSA, ASHE, NBFAA, AFAA, AGC, ABC, NEMA, NECA, etc. to build a network of contacts and to represent Siemens in the market

  • Work jointly with the multiple levels of the customer's organization to understand and document their business goals and success metrics

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency

  • Senior Sales Executive = 3 + Years

  • NICET Fire Alarm Certification

  • Senior Sales Executive = NICET Level I or II Fire Alarm Certification or must complete certification testing within 2 years.

  • Working knowledge of common fire and life safety systems and equipment, including but not limited to fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, suppression, nurse call, area of rescue, smoke control, digital antenna systems, etc.

  • Familiarity with building and fire alarm codes and standards (IFC, IBC, NFPA, CMS, etc.)

  • Experience managing tier construction and end-user accounts and performing fire alarm and/or sprinkler design services

  • Financial expertise to estimate and sell technical solutions and service product lines effectively and independently

  • Account development and strategic sales skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Excellent organizational, presentation, and negotiation skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

Basic Qualifications:

  • Strong technical and commercial knowledge of building automation systems and applications required, preferably within all previously mentioned targeted markets

  • Must be willing and available to travel 5-10% overnight for training and business development. Position will require travel to Pullman, WA 2-3 days a week regularly.

  • Financial expertise to estimate and sell technical solutions and service offerings effectively and independently

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Integrate Procurement in the project management process (PM@Siemens) and organize, control, and monitor all Procurement activities in a project.

  • Review and monitor the sales pipeline. Meet with cross-functional partners and participate in project/sales meetings to provide procurement market information to optimize supplier selection and as a project core team member to exert a shaping influence at an early stage.

  • Analyze customer inquiries during bid preparation / opportunity management phases and exactly understands the customer's functional needs to include (supplier) innovations.

  • Establish material budgets and monitor costs through project execution phase.

  • Clearly define the supply chain. Create and maintain project procurement plans, assure superior supply chain execution throughout the entire project, document, communicate, and execute the supply chain strategy to cross-functional project teams.

  • Understand the scope of supply and customer contract agreements, perform risk analysis and prepare for negotiations with suppliers and identify supply chain risks and monitor the supply chain during project execution to avoid potential issues/risks.

  • Coordinate with various commodity managers both locally and globally for supplier negotiations to assure optimization of project spend.

  • Analyze project scope of supply, contractual obligations, and end customer's functional needs. Identify procurement risks, opportunities, potential changes, claims and market forces during the entire project, together with Commodity Management, to avoid potential damage and to exploit savings potential.

  • Ensure that mitigation of procurement risks, changes to original scope of supply and potential claims (towards customers and suppliers) are covered in valid contracts with suppliers. Ensure that required customer contractual obligations are fulfilled by supplier and covered in a way that mitigates Siemens' risk exposure.

  • Clarify internal indicators for project controlling and compile all relevant information to submit qualified reports. Proactively ensure resources availability, status, transparency and alerting of deviations.

Customer Services is the service arm for Siemens Mobility rolling stock products including Light Rail Vehicles, and Locomotives and Coaches, covering customer needs throughout North America.

As a project manager, you will expand and improve the current service vision for these products and develop an ongoing strategy of service improvement, product sales growth, contract execution, and contract management.   • Comfortable with negotiation practices and techniques, as well as managing project contract obligations in alignment with customer service and business goals.

  • Establish, develop, and manage or synchronize a relevant cross functional team necessary to support the business goals of the product and services.
