Plan and perform a wide variety of duties to machine, form, weld, assemble, test and modify various parts and components for food machines and assist in related new product development duties as assigned.

  • Work from prints, specifications, sketches, written and verbal instructions and own knowledge. Use a variety of common hand tools such as wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers and precision measuring instruments, Vernier calipers, micrometers and dial indicators. Operate lathe, milling machine, drill press, cutoff saws, band saws, and gas or electric welding equipment as required.

  • Obtain work or instructions and discuss requirements with engineering and other department personnel. Improvise tooling, methods and work set-ups as required for machining, fabrication and assembly of prototype parts and test fixtures.

  • Select normal range of speeds and feeds to perform machining, welding or fabrication operations. Turn, mill, tap and/or bend and form a variety of various types of sheet steel, aluminum, stainless or bar, rod and plate stock. Create new or rework existing prototype or production parts based on project needs.

  • Perform assembly and make and adjustments of parts, and components as required. Install interrelated pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical/electronic parts, controls, or accessory equipment to make proper and/or operational arrangement. Conduct or assist in testing as required. Troubleshoot and diagnose problems. Communicate opportunities with engineering and other department personnel through print markups. Remedy problems within scope of assigned responsibilities. Perform re-work, repairs modifications as required.

  • Coordinate prototype work with outside vendors and machine shops when scope of work exceeds in-house capabilities.

  • Perform other similar duties as assigned.

  • Proven safe work habits.

  • Minimum 3 years of related work experience.

  • 1 to 2 years of trades training, preferably Machinist, or CNC Programming.

  • Associates degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent trade school training preferred.

  • Knowledge of advanced shop mathematics, machine shop practices, procedures, and various machine tools.

  • SolidWorks or other CAD experience is a plus.

  • Familiar with common welding, fabrication, machining, assembly, testing methods and practices.

  • Must have the ability to work from prints, specifications, and written and verbal instructions.

Job Description

Hobart Brothers, a division of ITW, provides innovative and high-quality filler metal solutions (including metal-cored, flux-cored, aluminum, and solid wires, as well as stick electrodes) to customers around the world. Hobart Brothers has manufacturing facilities in Troy, OH, Piqua, OH, and Traverse City, MI.

This position operates within the Hobart Filler Metals Technical Center and will serve as the Hobart Product Safety & Compliance Champion. This individual will also provide key support and expertise to other ITW welding BU's whose products involve customer safety.

Essential Functions:

  • Hobart customer safety lead

  • Manage REACH, RoHS, and other relevant product certification and compliance

  • Oversee and drive excellence in Hobart's product hazard communications, such as product labels, websites, spec sheets, etc.

  • Work with Applications Engineering and R&D to develop a comprehensive database of safety information for Hobart product lines.

  • Work with outside contractor to ensure that product SDSs and labels are up to date and fully compliant with GHS, OSHA and other regulatory bodies.

  • Respond to customer inquiries pertaining to safety and product SDSs.

  • Attend safety related code and committee functions and report back on essential health and safety industry developments with organizations such as the American Welding Society or the International Institute of Welding

  • Help inform and shape Long Range Plan and New Product Development efforts related to emerging trends and value-added enhancements to the health & safety of our products.

  • Coordinate and draft case studies as needed to demonstrate the effectiveness of our products as related to health & safety.

  • Work with key customers, product specialist, and corporate account managers to address customer specific needs related to health & safety.

  • Reinforce a safety-first work culture and drive process excellence with regard to our communication and advocacy of the safe use of our products.

  • Assist with/lead safety training efforts for both internal and external customers. Attend safety conferences (such as AIHce) to promote Hobart products, as required.

  • Assist ITW Legal with materials related to Hobart products.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Work with other ITW business units regarding industrial hygiene, customer wellness, & safety of our products.

  • Coordinate cross-divisional efforts within ITW Welding geared towards comprehensive, system wide safety solutions.

  • Travel 10-25%

  • Minimum requirements include a bachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or related field. Master's preferred.

  • Knowledge of Materials Science or Welding a plus, especially as it pertains to filler metals and the welding environment.

The Production Manager is responsible for managing daily manufacturing operations in assigned production area. The Production Manager oversees all areas of floor operations, production workforce, material handling, customer returns, and shipping/receiving.

The Division designs, develops, manufactures, and markets capital equipment primarily used in the assembly process of Printed Circuit Boards (PCB's) and other industrial applications. In 2021 the Division had revenues above $200M and is positioned for above market rates of growth.

The Site Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing the site's EHS and Facilities efforts, supporting approximately 35 shop floor and 30 office employees. You will help drive continuous improvement initiatives and overall plant success as a key member of the operations leadership team.

Responsibilities include:

. Lead the site's EHS efforts, including developing, maintaining, and communicating EHS targets, proactive safety management, and leading strategic EHS initiatives / projects. Enable data-driven safety decision making, data management and analysis to improve incidents, injuries and illnesses, environmental impact, risk assessments, and other EHS related actions. Foster employee and leader engagement through safety teams, training, training programs, project management, communications, and other employee facing activities. Provide clarity and closure for all open safety incidents (injuries, incidents, spills, property damage & near misses, etc.) through diligent investigations, leadership reporting, system tracking / entry, appropriate remediation, and closure actions. Ensure effective internal and external compliance management via audits, compliance activities, permitting, documentation, and other regulatory requirements.

. Lead the facilities efforts, including maintenance and improvement of the site infrastructure and operations. Ensure the infrastructure of the site meets safety, environmental, and accessibility standards and regulations including company, local, state, and federal requirements. Create & Submit capital requests to support initiatives & track spending against forecast. Review all MOC's for plant, understand impact to facility and maintenance. Lead CI culture in equipment and facility maintenance, including improvement of Preventative Maintenance (PM). Plan and develop Maintenance Technician position to support plant metrics.

CIP specializes in the design and manufacturing of stamped fasteners and related products. ITW CIP fasteners can be found on vehicle platforms around the world securing fenders, bumpers, chassis assemblies, doors, interior components and much more.

SUMMARY

3rd Shift

Dual role to support one or more heat treat furnace machines and complete general maintenance, to harden the manufactured product to specifications on production basis by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Operator duties:

. Ability to cover both sides of Heat Treat when needed for breaks and/or lunches

. Maneuver barrels with metal product manually or using barrel dollies and barrel dumpsters secures barrels and loads automatic feeding device.

. Weighing totes and creating and scanning labels

. Keep barrels and totes free of parts, foreign material and oil.

. Starts machine, engages feed, keep probes clean to maintain an even consistent product load on furnace belt and observes operation.

. Maintain machine controls and guides to consistently adjust machine to remain in compliance with product specifications.

. Obtains samples and completes testing, such as hardness, soap concentration (upper), light oil & titration (lower) as specified.

. Replace or repair worn machine accessories such as tightening bolts, replacing phos straps, swapping motors, changing steam coils as well as assist HT maintenance when needed.

. Maintains process documentation consistently.

. Perform or assist in the salt reclaim process.

. Daily 5S duties and LPA completion

. Adjusts flow of chemicals to machine reservoir and turns valve to start flow of soaps, phos and light oil.

. Maintains a safe, clean and organized work environment at all times.

. Performance to comply with all company Procedures, Policies, Work Instructions, knowledge of internal and external requirements as well as TS16949 requirements.

Maintenance Duties include but not limited to:

. Studies blueprints, sketches, machine parts or specifications to determine type and dimensions of metal stock required.

. Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on metal stock surfaces.

. Dismantles heat treat lines or equipment to examine parts for defect or to remove defective parts.

. Replaces defective parts with new part or repairs or reproduces part from various kinds of metal stock.

. Assembles and test operates heat treat lines to verify correction or malfunction.

. Maintains and lubricates heat treat lines and/or equipment throughout the facility as per TPM and MP2 schedule.

. Assists other maintenance personnel to ensure proper working conditions of equipment in heat treat area such as salt belts, hearth trays, vibratory pan.

. Observes and listens to operating heat treat lines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction and determines needs for adjustment or repair.

. Maintain inventory of maintenance repair parts for heat treat process

. Maintain heat treat maintenance storage area at all times

Basic Function

Education and Experience

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Responsible for total sales of assigned product segment and skus within a defined territory. Industrial MRO: LPS, Dykem, SCRUBS, Dymon and Spray Nine. Meet or exceed sales plan for the defined territory for the sales period.

Distribution Partners (regional and branch locations) :

  • Strategy - Develop and document a strategic vision to partner with -80- distributor locations to organically grow revenue with them within the assigned territory
