We have an opportunity for a highly motivated person whose work will reflect Instron's commitment to customer satisfaction. Working from home, out of the Detroit, MI area, you will be responsible for traveling to customer sites to perform a variety of services including verification, preventative maintenance, repair, and installation, on a wide range of Instron's products.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Conduct daily procurement functions to ensure timely delivery of both production and indirect materials to meet production schedules and customer demands, negotiate pricing and terms, and adhering to ITW Corporate metrics of maintaining appropriate MOH (Months of Hand) and grading reserves.

  2. Work within Supplier Segmentation best practices to develop strong supplier relations, identify preferred suppliers and be involved in supplier performance monitoring

  3. Play an integral role in inventory control management by reviewing quantity levels, doing daily transactions, cycle counting, investigating inventory discrepancies, coordinating physical inventories, and meeting annual objectives / metrics.

  4. Actively involved in production scheduling, releasing Purchase Orders per customer and production demands, and working closely with department managers to monitor finished goods.

  5. Provide Excellent customer service to internal customers from departments including but not limited to Customer Service, Sales & Service, Marketing, Production and Engineering.

  6. Ensure all orders confirmed by suppliers and agreed upon delivery dates are accurate in ERP system.

  7. Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery goals are met.

  8. Maintain valid due dates in the purchasing database, files and planning reports. Expediting as required

  9. Ensure that non-confirming product is processed and that dispositions are completed in a timely manner.

  10. Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery with supplier

  11. Resolve billing issues and supplier problems that may arise

  12. Report problems that affect the production schedule to appropriate manager(s)

  13. Maintain effective inventory levels to achieve month on hand (MOH), on-time delivery (OTD), and customer satisfaction. Adjust accordingly.

  14. Maintain up to date SDS for all products on our T-Drive and master SDS book for associate's reference. Make sure website is updated with new/revised SDS. Send copy of new and updated SDS to Infotrac for emergency phone contact.

  15. Perform all related ISO functions, including contacting our suppliers regarding compliance of products we purchase from them and keeping files of our supplier's compliance to ISO objectives

  16. Follows safety policies and wears prescribed PPE, maintains work area (housekeeping), PC/laptops and other company property

  17. All other duties as assigned

Primary Objective: To act as an authorized agent of the company by making purchase commitments that meet Company requirements at the best value while managing supplier performance.

Major Areas of Accountability:

  1. Support the development and implementation of sourcing strategies, negotiate pricing and supply agreements for assigned commodities and services

  2. Analyze MRP data to ensure appropriate ordering levels to meet Company objectives

  6. Maintain master data in the ERP system for Info Records, Routes, Material Masters etc. Determine MRP system settings to optimize inventory, based on established guidelines. Resolve system reconciliation issues such as invoice and receiving discrepancies.

  7. Negotiate with suppliers by developing negotiation strategies based upon the proposal analysis to include price/cost factors, terms and conditions, and technical issues and documents and maintains contractual agreements.

  8. Address day-to-day issues with supplier performance, such as rejections/quality issues and supplier requested schedule changes, ensuring SAP system is accurate. Support or facilitate supplier performance review meetings.

  9. Provide feedback to support strategic sourcing, including assessments of the current situation (e.g., internal direction, suppliers, pricing trends) and identify future purchase strategies and actions to proactively reduce total costs and optimize performance.

  10. Develop and apply technical knowledge of products assigned for purchase to add value into purchasing functions

  11. Other accountabilities as assigned

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment; or in lieu of bachelor's degree, 8 years of continued advancement in a manufacturing, technical, or business environment, plus three years of technical purchasing experience. Job Description

Brooks Instrument, a global manufacturer of flow and pressure measurement and control products for critical applications, and a division of ITW (A Fortune 200 Company) is seeking candidates for a Water Spider (1st shift) . This position will be based out of our headquarters facility in Hatfield, PA (Suburban Philadelphia). In addition to our Pennsylvania operations, Brooks maintains manufacturing locations in, Hungary, and Korea. The Company also maintains sales offices throughout the world. Our products are used in laboratory and process applications in end markets such as: life sciences, chemicals, semiconductor, analytical instruments, nuclear, and solar cells.

The Water Spider role is a member of the Materials group responsible for all material movements from receiving, to the production lines and inventory locations, to shipping. This role will rotate and perform a full range of activities across the Shipping, Receiving, and Material Attendant departments. Primary focus is to support direct production activities allowing production personnel to focus on value-added work.

Basic Function

  • Receive, identify, store, disburse, inventory, closeout and transact materials, supplies and equipment across different departments and product lines.

  • Prepare and pack parts and instruments for domestic or export shipments. Verify and enter receipt of incoming material shipments

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work from instructions and exercise some judgment to perform required duties.

  • Work with computer (bar coding, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)

  • Pull parts to pick list requirement, customer orders, and to fill Kan Bans

  • Accuracy and attention detail along with problem solving is needed to determine root cause analysis.

  • Receive and disburse orders as follows:

  • Prepare paperwork to document receipt of incoming materials, compares identifying information and quantities on the packing slip against the purchase order, counts items for verification and indicates discrepancies, maintains computerized inventory data records and paper files, notify proper personnel of incoming materials on a priority basis, deliver materials / packages to appropriate personnel

  • Pack and ship orders as follows:

  • Verify identifying information on order, check materials for damage, prepare and pack order in accordance with shipping instructions, process shipping and material movement transactions in ERP, prepare shipping closing reports, maintain accurate finished goods inventory

  • Key Performance Indicators, established and standardized by the Materials Supervisor, must remain within the acceptable range. The acceptable range will be predetermined and clearly defined by the Materials Supervisor

  • Follow all safety procedures

  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED is required.

  • Ability to use computer systems including ERP, barcoding, MS office (Work, Excel, Outlook) required

  • Strong problem solving and communication skills required

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs approximately 3-5 times per week

  • Ability to work well in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment

BASIC DESCRIPTION:

The District Manager (DM) is responsible for driving overall growth in their assigned territory. They will manage distributor relationships to drive growth across the entire ITW Welding portfolio. The DM will create top-of-mind awareness and drive new business development targeting end-user customers, representing the entire portfolio of ITW welding products and pulling those sales through the distributor partner. This role will lead the account planning process in the territory.

The position will be based in Lubbock, TX and will cover West Texas and New Mexico.

  • Manage local distribution relationships to create ITW advocacy and collaborate on strategies that drive growth for ITW and our distributor partners.

  • Implements distributor training programs that include ITW product knowledge, marketing initiatives, and business processes.

  • Effectively manages assigned territory and prioritizes through an 80/20 mindset of key accounts and activities; effectively leverages internal & external resources.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Technical Certificate, Associate or Bachelor's Degree in a Technical or Business Discipline.

  • Minimum of 3 years of sales experience; selling on value and demonstrating commercial & industrial products.

  • Previous experience with industrial distribution channels.

  • Technical aptitude to be able to sell the full ITW product portfolio, preferably in the welding process.

  • Ability to build effective account plans, manage sales opportunities, and effective account management.

  • Strong ability to communicate the value offering to all levels of end user management.

  • Strong value selling skills with the ability to convert new business.

The Toolroom Apprentice - Deltar Fasteners will report to the Production Service Manager - Deltar Fasteners and will learn and assist in the duties to construct, alter and repair molds of a complex, intricate, and precise nature. This position will also use machine skills and techniques to build and revise engineering related components including: gages, fixtures, End of Arm Tooling, test panels, etc.

Primary Responsibilities:

. Assist with making, altering, and repairing gauges, jigs, fixtures, special machines, and other devices.

. Learn to set up and operate all tool room equipment including EDM and improvise where equipment is limited.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklift - load and unload trucks as required

  • Will utilize R/F technology to fulfill these orders and generate appropriate labels and will also be required to generate appropriate paperwork at times.

  • Will be required to stand/lift /bend the entire shift and able to lift 65 pounds.

  • This incumbent will be picking 5 gallon pails and gallon boxes approximately 90% of everyday

  • Must be experienced in driving motorized material handling equipment.

  • Will independently perform housekeeping aisle audits on a routine basis.

  • Must be able to work safely and efficiently in a team environment as well as be able to independently plan work activities and meet daily productivity goals.

  • Must be detail oriented and able to perform basic mathematical functions

  • Is able to plan and carryout movement or flow of materials or products in a productive manner.

  • Assures that accurate customer orders are completed with efficiency.

Qualifications

  • The selected individual will possess a high school diploma or equivalent with a preferred minimum of 2 years prior picking / warehouse experience.

  • Must have low-lift forklift experience

Pay Rate: $16-$17 an hour depending on experience. Plus $.50 an hour shift differential.
