As an Assembler at Anchor Coupling Inc. (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Caterpillar Inc.), you will perform a variety of repetitive processes using varied machines and/or hand tools to complete the assembly and /or sub-assembly of component parts to achieve a finished coupling assembly. May be assigned to various hand assembly, pressing, plating, brazing and or cleaning of component parts. Visually inspect parts as processed. Proceeds on assignments with a minimum supervision and/or direction.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify tooling and equipment necessary to perform assigned operation

  • Follow start up and shut down procedures on all equipment, monitor and adjust equipment as necessary and record same

  • Using a variety of different ways or means, move materials as required

  • Perform various assembly or sub-assembly processes including but not limited to ringing, naming, and hand assembly.

  • Maintain records relating to production, downtime, quality, maintenance, etc.

  • Ensure that all quality standards are met by visually inspecting work and/or with measuring devices

  • Recognize operating irregularities and machine malfunctions and make corrections or notify the proper person to correct

  • Perform rework as necessary

  • Perform machine set-up as required

  • Instruct and train assigned operators on work tasks, safety procedures, proper use of equipment and the importance of performing to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 quality standards

  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as required

  • Meet or exceed production requirements or notify Team Lead or Manage of reason of deviation from standard

  • Work safelyat all timesand comply with safety regulations regarding the use of protective equipment and devices

  • Keep work area, equipment, machine, etc. clean and orderlyat all times

  • Perform necessary computer transactions in various computer applications and software programs

  • The Aftermarket Coordinator is responsible for providing customers, dealers (both domestic and international) with parts for Denison Drills. Planning/forecasting, pricing, sales program management and aftermarket product management for. Caterpillar's Advanced Materials Technology (AMT) is currently seeking an experienced Chemist or Chemical Engineer focused on manufacturing support of Caterpillar's chemical management program supporting all East Peoria manufacturing complexes (Bldg BB, HH, KK, LL, & SS). In this role you will have an opportunity to provide the technical expertise necessary to develop and implement complex manufacturing operations and support sophisticated machines and related equipment.

Job Duties

  • Provide technical support to ensure a safe and robust chemical management program is developed and implemented.

  • Lead team (12 tech / $1.2M) supporting EP campus, as well as co-ownership of 100+ SW Docs, SJP & Safety documents.

  • Coordinate lab testing (3000+/yr) of 100+ in-use chemicals and lubricants, analyze and communicate test results.

  • Manage annual chemical spend (>$1M annual spend), including budget reporting and goal setting.

  • Ownership of fluids reclamation and recycling program, enabling Caterpillar Sustainability initiatives

  • Ownership of 44 Chemical Engineering Specs including annual reviews and revisions

  • Collaborate with EHS departments on new products as well as completing the associated risk mitigation plans. Responsible for chemical safety and hygiene (100+ MSDS), investigates all chemical related Near Misses incidents.

  • Introduction, troubleshooting & validation of new products and processes to alleviate PQVC bottlenecks such as rust, product shortages, etc...

  • Lead projects to address operational issues including ergonomic/safety risks, quality concerns, efficiency and cost savings improvements.

Basic Qualifications

Working under the direction of Logistics Engineers and Logistics Manager, ensure material is shipped, received, stored, or delivered quickly and efficiently. Job Duties/Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Operator will provide general feedback and assessments on machine and tool performance as competency is gained. Within 6-12 months the operator is expected to become skilled in a variety of applications and support testing both on and occasionally offsite. This requires the ability to understand machine behavior and be able to articulate this to coworkers and engineers. Therefore, the operator should have an eagerness to learn and advance their skill set. Machines will use different tools such as standard Buckets, Grapple Buckets, an Auger, Trencher, and Compactor. Typical applications include digging, simulated truck-loading, and travel. More advanced tool work could include using a Brushcutter, Mulcher, Cold Planer, or Wheel Saw.

Compensation & Benefits Offered!

  • Hourly Pay Range : $21.15 - $27.47 (pay negotiations based upon skills/experience)

  • 2nd shift will receive an additional $3.00 night shift premium

  • 1st shift Work Hours: 6AM - 4:30PM; Mon- Thurs with occasional overtime on Fridays

  • 2nd shift Work Hours: 4:15PM - 2:454AM; Mon- Thurs with occasional overtime on Fridays

  • $2,000 sign on bonus. Incumbent will receive first pay out after 90 days of employment and second payout after 180 days of employment.

  • The payout of sign on bonus will be based on acceptable performance and attendance

  • 40-hour work weeks with potential for overtime
