The Physician Billing Representative provides prompt and efficient operations of billing processes. Responsible for accurate and timely data collection, documentation, submission and data retrieval for billing processes with computerized and/or paper systems. Reports to Practice Manager/Billing Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitors billing processes, accounts receivable, collections, data entry and assures accurate, timely and compliant coding and submissions.
Assists with and processes billing inquiries.
Acts as a liaison for the practice and between subsidiaries, affiliates, finance, insurance, patient and other issues surrounding billing processes.
Performs other duties as assigned.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
None required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Associates degree in a related field and/or 3 years of experience required.
Knowledge of medical terminology, computer skills, ICD-9/CPT coding and third party payer insurance and billing processes.
Ability to relate well with consumers, companies and multiple departments.
Ability to effectively gather and exchange information in both oral and written communications and bookkeeping skills.

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Mental Health Therapist (Master's Level) is responsible for conducting mental health assessments and providing evidence-based therapies to patients and their families under the supervision of a licensed clinician. Reports to the Mental Health Therapy Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts mental health evaluations to identify mental health symptoms and psychosocial stressors and/or supports to include chronic illness, trauma, disability, primary support group, educational experiences, social environment, legal system and other psychosocial or environmental factors.
Develops an individualized treatment plan to address identified diagnoses and symptoms.
Provides evidenced based therapies to children with mental health diagnoses and co-occurring acute or chronic illness, trauma, or disability.
Completes comprehensive evaluations for review by the broader treatment team (such as treating MD referral source).
Completes psychosocial evaluations, progress notes and individualized treatment plans in accordance with the established best practice and third party guidelines.
Evaluates children and adolescents at risk for harm to self or others in order to determine the appropriate level of care and facilitates admission to inpatient psychiatric facilities and/or referrals to other community mental health services, as appropriate.
Obtains outcome measures, through use of psychometric tools in order to track clinical trends and share data on patient progress with collaborating physicians.
Leads coordination efforts with patients' medical care providers in order to ensure seamless integration of medical and mental health care.
Runs evidence based groups as a co-facilitator.
May participate in on-call phone skills coaching as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
Must be in the process of working towards clinical hours of a current Virginia clinical license (Licensed Clinical Social Work or Licensed Professional Counselor).
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Mental Health and/or related fields.
One to two years of related work experience preferred (including internship) and approval letter toward clinical supervision.
Experience with implementing evidence-based treatments with children and families in both individual and group treatment modalities preferred.
Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills necessary.
Ability to work as a multidisciplinary team member.
Position may require occasional travel to offsite locations.
Increased Security Clearance Required for Job Role in Medical Tower II: FBI fingerprinting, criminal background check, and Child Protective Services registry search.

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
Eligible to sit for the certification exam given by the Board of Registry of the American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) as a Medical Laboratory Technician required. Must receive certification within 6 months of date of employment.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program that typically results in the acquisition of an Associates degree.
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, chemistry, mathematics, hematology and serology at a level normally acquired through completion of an accredited program (National Commission for health Certifying Agencies) with supervised clinical internship.
Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with physicians, nursing personnel and other clinicians while exchanging information to routine inquiries and reporting laboratory results.
Familiar with a variety of laboratory testing procedures to resolve technical problems.
Analytical skills necessary in order to interpret routine tests and recognize abnormal test results.
Standard guides and procedures are used in resolving technical problems.
Ability to travel.
CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire for identified individuals in job role.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Laboratory Services area work environment with frequent exposure to physical discomforts due to unpleasant odors from specimens and chemicals. Frequent exposure to infectious agents when handling specimens or hazardous materials. Potential for personal harm or injury is reduced when proper safety and health precautions are followed.

Serves as a resource for clinical expertise and insight; utilizes evidence-based practice to develop and implement standards of practice that guide practice improvement initiatives.
Assesses patient condition based on medical history, observation, examination, physician's diagnosis, laboratory findings and the results of specific test or respiratory function and other appropriate diagnostic procedures.
Develops or modifies the respiratory care plan and makes specific recommendations to physicians regarding indicated therapy.
Administers appropriate diagnostic tests and procedures to evaluate therapeutic responses including: blood gas sampling and interpretation, oxygen saturation, end-tidal carbon dioxide measurement, pulmonary mechanics, inhaled medications and may assist with endotracheal intubation and bronchoscopy.
Responds to respiratory and other defined emergencies such as transfer of neonatal high risk patients, cardiopulmonary arrest, and trauma activations.
Maintains artificial airways and provides mechanical ventilation, in addition provides transport of those patients with an artificial airway or mechanical ventilation to locations in order to facilitate tests and procedures.
Initiates patient and caregiver teaching as appropriate.
Completes necessary documentation of all pertinent observations related to patient care treatments, response to therapy, and all recommendations for modification in the treatment plan.
Performs other duties as assigned.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
Current registration as a Registered Respiratory Therapist from the National Board of Respiratory Care.
American Heart Association (AHA) certification such as Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) designation is required and/or must be obtained.
American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) certification such as Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) designation is required and/or must be obtained.
Advanced credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care such as Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty (NPS) or completion of the Asthma Educator certification.
CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's in Respiratory Care required; will consider Associates degree with applicable experience and actively enrolled in a Bachelor's program within three years completion from date of hire.
Minimum of two years in pediatric and neonatal ICU experience required.
Previous education coordinator experience preferred.
Demonstrates the ability to work independently in all clinical areas within the health system.

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Security Officer II provides a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff. In addition to Security Officer I duties, the role requires situational awareness, assessment and interventional skills. The role often entails responding to escalated situations with a focus on de-escalation to prevent injuries and preserve a healthy and safe environment. The Security Officer II works in collaboration with all clinical teams, specifically supporting the mental health programs to maintain a safe and therapeutic clinical environment. Reports to Security Management or designee.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures the security of buildings and property through regular patrols and reporting.
Ensures patient safety by completing regular environmental assessment and periodic unit rounds.
Investigates incidents that occur on health system property.
Reports as a team member to all hospital behavior emergencies. Responds quickly in a professional and therapeutic manner.
Performs least restrictive verbal and physical de-escalation techniques necessary.
Generates reports and completes follow up on incidents as directed.
Maintains and inspects alarms and safety equipment.
Assists with evacuations in emergency situations requiring strength, stamina and flexibility.
Responsible for Safe Car transport of patients being admitted in coordination with mental health clinicians.
Provides support to ensure a Safety Officer is present as needed for court proceedings.
Assists with patient admissions in a timely, organized and client-centered fashion.
Responsible for visitor management to include providing orientation, screening and badges for entrance.
Participates in debriefing of escalation events.
Assists with patient transitions as needed.
Works to establish a rapport with patients with the goal of de-escalation in mind.
Attends change of shift and unit level huddles as requested.

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High school graduate or equivalent.
At least two years of security officer experience required.
Minimum of one year of experience in a behavioral health setting, crisis intervention, de-escalation or hospital environment preferred.
Military or Law Enforcement experience preferred.
Demonstrated computer literacy, loss prevention techniques and positive guest relations skills.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must meet the insurability policy requirements to drive a CHKD vehicle.
Must be able to pass the CHKD driving test within 30 days of employment.
CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.
CPI Crisis Prevention Training must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Must be able to successfully complete a post-offer pre-hire physical and Functional Capacity Screening and annually thereafter.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed inside and outside the hospital in all weather. Position may require short bursts of running.
