This position provides a variety of unit support functions which contribute to the overall efficient operation of the nursing department. Responsible for serving the needs of patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director (possibly with guidance from an LPN) to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health. Works within job scope to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory and accrediting agencies. This position greets customers and facilitates the patient registration process in a timely, professional, and courteous manner. Interviews and obtains demographic and financial information from patients or their representatives through face-to-face and virtual interactions to provide Essentia Health with the documents and data necessary to ensure appropriate care and compliant, accurate patient registration and billing. This position serves as liaisons between patients and Virtual Patient Registration Representatives and Patient Schedulers. They must be able to complete patient checkout, schedule follow-up appointments per the physician's order, and provide patients with cost estimates and itineraries for their upcoming appointments. Key Responsibilities: - Interviews patients to obtain complete demographic details, financial information, and minimum health information to ensure appropriate care provision. - Obtains copies of insurance cards and other forms of identification, and updates patient information in the medical record as necessary. - Performs point of service data collection, including identifying and collecting patient co-payments and down payments, reconciles the cash drawer, and reports daily deposit records associated with the collection of co-payments to ensure accurate accounting of revenue. - Maintains all assigned work queues according to supervisor's instructions and guidance. - Interacts positively and in a caring manner with patients, co-workers, and others to provide highest level of customer service. - Answers incoming phone calls, schedules appointments, and refers to clinical team as needed. - Sanitizes registration equipment between each use and restocks basic supplies. - Other clerical duties as assigned. JOB SUMMARY

To provide therapeutic services and diagnostic services to patients. This is to include but is not limited to individual, group, and family therapy, mental health intakes and assessments, diagnostics, and coordination of treatment services for the patient. QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements)

Education and/or years' experience required:

Master's degree in social work (MSW).

Licensure/Certifications required:

Licensed as an LGSW if practicing in Minnesota.Preferred: Licensed as an LICSW if practicing in Minnesota. Licensed as an LCSW if practicing in Wisconsin. In other states, must be certified or licensed as required by the state in which practice occurs for the purpose of reimbursement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Plans and delivers grief therapy for adult, adolescent, and/or children using generally accepted psychotherapeutic modalities of treatment. Working with children ages 12 and under is optional and based on preference and experience.

• Accurately assesses and diagnoses the complaints presented by the patient and develops an age-appropriate treatment plan in consultation with the patient and family, as appropriate.

• Understands and applies the diagnostic criteria in the DSM 5 and other current diagnostic lexicons utilized by Essentia Health.

• Makes appropriate decisions to involve others in the care of the patient, and effectively engages their involvement through case conferences, consultation and/or referrals.

• Able to understand and incorporate psychiatric and psychological assessments and recommendations into the treatment plan of the patient.

• Delivers individual, group or family therapy for primarily outpatient clients as prescribed by the treatment plan, continuously evaluating progress and revising the plan when indicated. Periodically there will be referrals for inpatient grief support.

• Recognizes when maximum benefits have been attained from treatment and enlists the patient in planning for discharge.

• Ensures that treatment planning and discharge planning reflects the standards and boundaries of regulatory agencies and third-party payers, including timely completion of prior authorizations.

• Accurately documents all clinical activities and treatment provided within the medical record time parameters defined by Essentia Health.

• Provides effective crisis intervention services as required to meet the needs of the Essentia Health patient, family members or employee in crisis.

• Performs community education/liaison duties as requested.

• Performs Essentia-wide duties as requested by the designated Essentia leader.
