Overview
The Navy Federal Financial Group (NFFG) Training team partners with every division in NFFG to help build a skilled, engaged, and empowered department. We are the learning branch that develops the training, facilitation, documentation, communication, and change management needs of the department. The Summer Associate will spend their time with us helping to refine policies and procedures for both Training and NFFG, as well as provide project support. We are seeking to broaden our impacts on knowledge transfer, upskilling, and employee development.
The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2024 and ending in August 2024. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2024 or later.
Responsibilities
Conduct research and preparation of reference material
Maintain documentation library to ensure accuracy of processes
Review proposed policy and procedure changes for technical adequacy, completeness, and compliance to regulations
Ensure clear, concise, and effective communication of material
Interact with various sub-teams to determine user requirements and specifications
Write online reference material, instructions, and communications
Assist Instructional Designer on project to map existing learning items to roles and identify gaps
Assist with data mining to track material engagement and success ratings
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Education, Instructional Design/Technology, Finance, Business, or other related degree
Strong communication and presentation skills
Project management or coordination experience
Effective skill in presenting at and/or facilitating meetings
Experience working with ambiguous problems
Desired: working knowledge of the Adobe and Microsoft product suites
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM

Overview
To prioritize, plan, organize, and execute full lifecycle project management for large scale, multi-dimensional initiatives. Responsibilities
Manages and prioritizes project activities affecting operations, specifically division goals, projects, automated systems, processes, and procedures to ensure they meet business goals.

Qualifications
Extensive experience managing complex full life-cycle projects or teams to include cost/resource/time estimation

Proficiency in statistical methods, mathematical techniques, and related analytical tools including forecasting and cost benefit analysis

Overview

Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with the Department of Defense (DoD) Recruiters, DoD civilian agencies, Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) contacts, base/command personnel (Commanding Unit Liaison Officer), media/marketing representatives, and local community organizations

Qualifications

Overview

Overview
The Principal Engineer for Core Banking Foundational Services will serve as subject matter expert and consultant for the transition to the new Cloud Core Banking system at NFCU. The Principal will be responsible for driving forward the implementation of the new Cloud Core banking system. This individual will need to become knowledgeable in our current on-premises mainframe batch driven Core banking system and make recommendations to solve problems around migrating this to a real-time cloud-based Core Banking system. The Principal will be consulted on the strategy, design, engineering, and integration efforts within Cloud Enabled Core services.
The Principal engineer will provide technical expertise on the new Cloud Core Banking system as well as other technologies and ancillary systems that are used to support or integrate with the Core Banking system. This role will use engineering principles and technology to construct necessary systems to interface with the new cloud core banking system as well as champion the proper usage of configuration and extensibility capabilities of the new core banking product. This will require close collaboration with the Technology Product Owner and Technology Product Managers in Cloud Enabled Core services, vendors and other departments in ISD. This person will interact with ISD, business unit leadership, and vendors to support the development of a roadmap that addresses the necessary milestones needed to support the implementation of the new cloud Core Banking system.
Responsibilities
Provide subject matter expertise in distributed and cloud technologies
Ensure appropriate thought and considerations are applied to sizing and performance metrics of the new cloud banking core
Instrumental in driving Cloud based models such as PaaS and SaaS based applications preferably on Oracle cloud and/or Azure

Qualifications
BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems preferred or equivalent experience

Instrumental in driving Cloud based models such as PaaS and SaaS based applications preferably on Oracle cloud and/or Azure
Strong technology background covering Core banking systems as well as industry knowledge of best practices in cloud PaaS/SaaS/IaaS offerings
Proven experience supporting modernization efforts for high volume financial core systems
Life Cycle experience in migrating on-prem assets to cloud

Overview

Overview
The Principal Engineer for Core Banking Foundational Services will serve as subject matter expert and consultant for the transition to the new Cloud Core Banking system at NFCU. The Principal will be responsible for driving forward the implementation of the new Cloud Core banking system. This individual will need to become knowledgeable in our current on-premises mainframe batch driven Core banking system and make recommendations to solve problems around migrating this to a real-time cloud-based Core Banking system. The Principal will be consulted on the strategy, design, engineering, and integration efforts within Cloud Enabled Core services.
The Principal engineer will provide technical expertise on the new Cloud Core Banking system as well as other technologies and ancillary systems that are used to support or integrate with the Core Banking system. This role will use engineering principles and technology to construct necessary systems to interface with the new cloud core banking system as well as champion the proper usage of configuration and extensibility capabilities of the new core banking product. This will require close collaboration with the Technology Product Owner and Technology Product Managers in Cloud Enabled Core services, vendors and other departments in ISD. This person will interact with ISD, business unit leadership, and vendors to support the development of a roadmap that addresses the necessary milestones needed to support the implementation of the new cloud Core Banking system.
Responsibilities
Provide subject matter expertise in distributed and cloud technologies

Support CBS and PEDS leadership with planning and development of a Cloud enabled core banking system modernization roadmap

Overview
Work with a team of Splunk SMEs to administer Splunk Cloud instances supporting both cybersecurity and fraud initiatives. Work with other cybersecurity and IT personnel, product owners, and security teams to develop and maintain Splunk content for cybersecurity and fraud use cases. Responsibilities

Implement and manage Splunk apps, dashboards, alerts, and reports to provide actionable insights to various teams
Translate feedback from the business to Splunk technical requirement and solutions
Create advanced dashboards, alerts, reports, advanced Splunk searches with improved search performance and visualization in Splunk enterprise
Troubleshoot complex problems, resolve operational issues, and interact with customers
Perform advanced searches, data analysis, and correlation to uncover insights and trends
Troubleshoot and resolve Splunk-related technical issues, partnering with IT and SOC teams as needed

Qualifications

Work with a team of Splunk SMEs to administer Splunk Cloud instances supporting both cybersecurity and fraud initiatives. Overview
