SR. AUTOMATION & CONTROLS ENGINEER (STARLINK)
As a member of the Starlink Tooling and Automation & Controls Engineering team you will work with a team of elite engineers to design, build and activate custom machines critical to the production of the Starlink satellite constellation. Exciting aspects of the role include:
Creating the factory of the future for high volume, highly automated satellite production
Constantly raising the bar for industrial automation and work with an unstoppable team as driven as you are
Get hands-on and build the things you design
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, develop and commission automated processes and production cells
Collaborate with all design and manufacturing teams on the Starlink project to ensure products are designed for automation
Design sensor systems to monitor processes, ensure operator safety, and track factory status and performance
Create electrical, pneumatic and fluid schematics for control panels
Architect, write, and debug structured, scalable, reusable PLC code
Develop and tune closed-loop control systems
Train and integrate robotic systems
Design user interfaces that make complex machines easy to control and troubleshoot
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
5+ years of experience in design and/or commissioning of automation, robotic cells, factory floor layouts, controls systems, or complex system architecture, especially within automotive or aerospace industries (internship and project team experience is applicable)
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Strong desire and ability to learn quickly, adapt and innovate
Process integration and electromechanical / mechatronic systems experience
PLC Programming (Beckhoff experience preferred)
HMI and SCADA programming experience
Experience with robotics, motion control, object-oriented programming (OOP), state machines, image processing, data engineering, vision inspection, various sensors, and/or internet of things (IoT)
Field bus networks, serial communication and Ethernet communication
Hands on experience building and commissioning high quality electrical control panels & electro-mechanical systems
Exposure to a wide variety of production machinery, industrial sensors, and equipment (Vision systems, dispense systems, temperature controllers, laser distance sensors, Nut-Runners, etc.)
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

SOFTWARE ENGINEER (CONSTELLATION DESIGN)
SpaceX is looking for a software engineer with a passion for systems analysis to design and develop the tools to optimize the Starlink network, constellation, and spacecraft.You will work with teams across the organization to answer questions ranging from -how can the fleet better allocate bandwidth?- to -where should ground antennas be placed throughout the world?- The algorithms you write and the analysis tools you build, which integrate with the same code running satellites in space, will guide business decisions across the entire Starlink program as we race towards consumer service, global coverage, and Mars.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Simulate the operation of the constellation as a system and test future designs.
Develop algorithms for efficient operation of the network including capacity planning, throughput allocation, fault-recovery, and network routing.
Optimize the revenue generation capability of the Starlink constellation for current and future designs.
Assess constellation design trades on a weekly basis and build new methods to support these trades.
Build simulation tools integrated into the network software and telemetry to analyze performance.
Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews.
Communicate business results to the broader team on a regular basis.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or science discipline; or2+years of experience insoftware development.

POWER SYSTEM ELECTRICAL ENGINEER, STARSHIP AVIONICS
The Starship power system is one of the largest power systems ever flown in space, involving high voltage batteries, traction drives, solar arrays, power conversion, and power distribution. We need a strong electrical engineer to be a core member of our highly dynamic team, tasked with performing full scale power testing and investigation on our state-of-the art power system test bed, 'Iron Bird'. The Starship power system is critical to success of our Starship mission, and this team's work will ultimately help unlock a new reality of human spaceflight to Mars.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide electrical engineering support as part of a small, dynamic, cross-functional team who owns a large scale power system test bed
Execute system tests exploring the performance envelope, exposing system weaknesses, and maximizing chance of successful flight
Drive to root cause and corrective action to enable continuous improvement of the power system
Analyze power system designs and field failures, and work with other engineers to identify the highest value test opportunities and priorities
Create test plans for large scale system tests
Define test system configuration for harnessing and avionics, and assist with build out of test system updates in advance of test campaigns
Review system test results, using Python data analysis to ensure appropriate hardware behavior
Report results to internal and external customers at varying levels of formality, including to NASA for the Human Landing System
Write test automation code to maximize efficiency of system tests
Act as champion for electrical safety and lock-out tag-out procedures, considering high voltage and arc flash hazards as defined by NFPA 70E
Be an operator for the test system
Be part of the future and blow stuff up spectacularly as a day job - all in a safe and controlled environment
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
1+ years of experience with power electronics or power systems (internships and academic projects qualify)
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience with power systems that run at hundreds of volts and tens to hundreds of kilo-watts of power
Experience with batteries, motor drives, and solar arrays
Hands on experience with power electronics design
Exposure testing for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
Experience with electrical test equipment (scopes, meters, etc.)
Proficiency with Python
Experience with test systems, test automation, and data reduction
Experience drafting formal test plans and reports

This is a materials engineering role supporting supply chain engineering on changes, risks, and specification management for metallic hardware. Additionally, this role will help drive introduction of SpaceX designed materials and insourcing of manufacturing technology.

Integration Technician (Falcon Final Integration) - Weekend 3rd Shift at SpaceX

INTEGRATION TECHNICIAN (FALCON FINAL INTEGRATION) - WEEKEND NIGHT SHIFT
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Stage, set up, assemble, test, and install flight hardware
Hands-on operations with both large as well as small, fragile assemblies
Use various mechanical tools without instruction
Maintain and install fluid system components from a schematic or drawing including ball and check valves, pressure regulators and gauges, etc.
Troubleshoot operational issues found during activation of fluid and mechanical systems including but not limited to hydraulic systems, high-pressure nitrogen and helium systems, and cryogenic systems
Work with a team of technicians and engineers to ensure systems and mechanical equipment is built with the highest level of quality to support the successful launch of our multi million dollar launch vehicle. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Airframe & Powerplant license
Associate degree in aerospace technology or equivalent area of study
Experience working in a clean room environment
Knowledge of pressure, temperature, and flow measurement devices
