Job Summary

The Application Developer position within Generation Technology Solutions will develop and maintain custom C# .NET Web and Batch applications. Responsibilities include working with technology leads and business partners to implement new business requirements, remediate software issues, and maintain the heath of applications across the Engineering and Plants portfolio.

Application Development, - Essential Duties Include

  • Considerable interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively is essential.

  • Participate in the creation of Technical Design documents.

  • Collaborate with Senior Programmers to plan for coding and overall program development.

  • Able to translate specifications to create code that meets performance expectations/coding requirements.

  • Modify existing software to correct errors or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance based on specifications, with supervision.

  • Able to troubleshoot, debug, maintain and improve existing software with limited supervision.

  • Participate in system testing as required.

  • Develop solutions and corresponding system documentation to technical problems of moderate scope and complexity while building the skills to increase complexity.

  • Participate in deployment activities to implement designed solutions.

  • Maintain and follow production support processes focused on identification and mitigation of root cause.

  • Prioritize work and deliver on project commitments.

  • Work, with supervision, to ensure code development is aligned with Technology Organization goals and strategies.

Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred

  • 2-years hands-on experience implementing and supporting application software solutions

  • Experience with mobile development and responsive web design

  • A full working knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and development principles

  • Ability to identify root cause for routine problems while working with other technical staff

  • Basic understanding of Technical Design Documents and Specifications

  • Exposure to software development projects

  • Ability to develop unit testing of code components or complete applications

  • Experience in system development practices, methodology and tools

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Languages: C#, Blazor, SQL

The Controls Design Engineer III are to provide the electrical/controls design on product improvements for electrical/controls infrastructure of our manufactured product lines as well as coordinate site wide drawings as applicable per site/project. These design activities are to provide assurance that our equipment/sites/projects are being built and/or applied per engineering documents, manufacturing, and other required standards, such as UL and NEC. The main goal is the safety, quality, functionality, and overall conformity of our products. This position's work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex to complex aspects of a project. May supervise and guide lower-level Controls Designers/Control Design Engineers.

Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills):

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required, electrical preferred.

  • 10+ years of related experience.

  • If made aware of long lead material, notify appropriate personnel.

  • Create and verify the BoM (Bill of Materials). Coordinate with the SCADA team to ensure appropriate communication components are ordered.   • DC Systems. Station Battery, Racks, consoles, chargers, DC panel Boards and distribution details.

  • Special electrical/control needs such as Comms, gas leak detection, ventilation, fire detection and alarm interface to controls.

  • Develop document set; including BOM, schematics, wire/conduit schedules, and other drawing details that will ensure the safe and efficient installation of this equipment.

  • Develop document set; including BOM, schematics, schedules, and other drawing details that will ensure the safe and efficient installation of this equipment. Ensure drawings are as-built, documents and manuals are filed on the server for use in O&M development.

  • Develop CAD models to automatically drive complete BOMs in PDM software with proper product structures, assortments, and other metadata.
