This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Wastewater Treatment System Technician for our Blue Bell PA office. The following locations will also be considered: Philadelphia, PA, Pittsburgh, PA Bristol, PA, Lawrenceville NJ, Morristown, NJ, Somerset, NJ, and Marlton, NJ. Be involved in projects with our Environmental Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges. This position will primarily involve collecting groundwater, soil samples and perimeter air monitoring for laboratory analysis.
Your Impact
Operate and maintain a temporary waste water treatment system. Daily tasks include bag filter change outs, performance monitoring, troubleshooting and maintenance.
Perform field tests according to prescribed procedures, processes and standards using field instruments and other environmental equipment
Collect samples of water and prepare samples for testing, record data, and prepare summary reports
Prepare and maintain field logs, reports on paper and/or electronically
Maintain a wide range of field monitoring and remediation systems
Field activities including data collection, evaluation and documentation.
Construction oversight of subcontractors, as needed.
Current sites are in the Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Support to other WSP offices may require travel throughout these states and the greater northeast and will include overnight travel.
Workload is expected to occur 5% in the office and 95% in the field (within Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and possibly surrounding states).
Candidate may be required to work overtime hours in excess of 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week on a routine or as-needed basis. This position has straight time and time and half overtime eligibility.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
3 years of environmental field tech experience or 3 years of relevant wastewater experience is preferred
Ability to use laboratory and/or test equipment in an effective and safe manner
Preferred Qualifications
Strong work ethic and high degree of flexibility and patience to adjust to changing work priorities.
Experience in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Powerpoint is deisred
Must be able to pass a HAZWOPER physical and be medically able to wear a tight-fitting respirator / Fit for Duty Exam / Medical Exam.

We are seeking a technical practice leader with a background in water resources, structural, or geotechnical engineering focused on dams to provide leadership and expertise in the pursuit and delivery of complex dam, levee, civil works, and flood resiliency projects. Your Impact
Lead the growth strategy for the Dam & Reservoir market for the East Region. Identify priority clients, strategic projects, and areas of market investments targeted at the growth of the practice.
Lead the operations and project delivery for WSP's dam practice in the east. This practice provides services on a wide range of projects including dams and appurtenant structures, levees, floodwalls, penstocks, dam removal, and licensing/permitting.
Supervise staff and manage their development and performance, enhancing their engagement in our greater organization and promoting their professional development. Track and manage financial KPIs and utilization goals. Manage backlog and staff workload.
Recruit/hire staff and direct project staffing assignments to meet client, contract, and company business objectives.
Drive technical excellence.
Identify opportunities, preposition, and lead pursuit development to drive annual 15-20% growth objectives.
Manage projects to scope, schedule, and budget commitments, with health & safety and quality in the forefront of project delivery. Achieve target project metrics, including days sales outstanding and target direct labor multipliers.
Travel occasionally to project sites, client meetings, public meetings, and professional conferences/meetings.

Perform and review work products developed and prepared by junior staff, including dam safety inspections and prepare reports in conformance with state or federal regulatory guidelines.
Review and supervise development of the following: hydraulic, geotechnical, and structural design calculations, modeling studies, engineering drawings, reports, project standards and specifications, quantity take-offs, engineering cost estimates, and permit applications for projects involving hydraulic structures.
Facilitate, direct, and/or perform field visits and site reconnaissance as dictated by project requirements.
Apply regulatory knowledge with USACE, FEMA, NYSDEC, FERC, USBR, and other local, state, and federal agencies and regulators.
Demonstrated experience with dam stability analysis, seismicity issues, flood hydrology, mechanical design knowledge, geotechnical knowledge, dam monitoring and instrumentation, dam operations, and risk assessment preferred.
Help manage task scope, schedule, and budget while verifying quality standards are met.
Develop client relationships, pursue prospective projects, prepare proposals, and present at client interviews and industry forums.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
15+ years of experience in dam engineering, preferably with at least 3 years of related experience in the East Region
Bachelor's degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering, or related field
Specialized dam engineering expertise with a strong background in the fields of geotechnical or structural engineering
Strong analytical and design skills
Experience building business through external client engagement and internal sales management processes

Your Impact
Manage a team of geotechnical and tunneling engineers including tracking active projects and budgets, delegating tasks, coordinating across disciplines within project teams, coordinating with subconsultants, reviewing work, and providing professional guidance.
Contribute to proposal and cost estimate development and track business development opportunities, both internally and externally.
Perform professional geotechnical engineering work including design for tunneling projects, subsurface investigations, soil foundation engineering, settlement analysis, soil erosion, lateral earth pressures, geological hazards, underground water, slope stability, and operations to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, construction, or operating permits for commercial, industrial, building, environmental, infrastructure, and transportation projects.
Provide guidance with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from the physical work site, soil/water/sludge/rock samples, surveys, blueprints, GIS data, subsurface utility information, maps, hydrologic analysis, geotechnical data, and other matrices for project development, design, and construction.
Apply high-level geotechnical engineering techniques and processes to identify improvements for various infrastructure project phases including concept development, preliminary design, final design, procurement, construction, and operation.
Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates; preparing construction safety and phasing plans, and updating infrastructure layout plans that require coordination with owners, other disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients.
Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, drillers, and clients in a confident and professional manner.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Engineering focus
10+ years of relevant post education experience in engineering and geotechnical design.
OH, MN, IN, or MI PE registration.

The Certified Bridge Inspector provides technical assistance and guidance for due diligence, investigation, remediation, improvement of bridges in federal, state, or local jurisdictions. WSP USA is initiating a search for a Civil BIM Lead out of our New York, Virginia, or mutually agreed upon office.
The WSP Civil BIM Leader is responsible for implementing and supervising drawing and modeling standards, managing drawing production, and performing non-routine and complex drafting and modeling assignments through the use of various software programs, primarily Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks and Autodesk Construction Cloud. The Civil BIM Lead will report to WSP USA's National Transportation Digital Delivery team and is also responsible for implementing BIM initiatives throughout the NE Region such as providing guidance to staff with regards to training, company standards, and modeling.
Responsible for performing project BIM and Information Management functions for major transportation infrastructure projects, the Civil BIM Lead will be well versed in information management process and have previous experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams in all aspects of information production, delivery and exchange. WSP is currently initiating a search for a Rail Simulation Analyst for our San Francisco, CA office. This can also sit out of any mutually agreed WSP USA office.
Be involved in projects with our Transit and Rail Operations Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.
The ideal candidate for this position is a person with a background and interest in technical operational analysis and who has demonstrated knowledge of railroad and rail transit operations, including at least an understanding of rail vehicle performance, train control/signal system concepts, rail infrastructure, and rail service planning. The rail operations analyses performed by the candidate will help inform rail network operating and capital decision making, as part of a comprehensive approach to delivering rail consulting services to clients across North America. Simulation modeling experience with Rail Traffic Controller (RTC) or another rail simulation software package is required. The incumbent will be performing simulations of rail networks using RTC, and leading teams of simulation analysts to accomplish operational analysis tasks.
This position will be a part of WSP's Transit and Rail Operations team, which provides a full range of rail operations and service planning and analysis services for light rail, heavy rail/rapid transit, commuter rail, intercity passenger rail, high-speed rail and freight rail. WSP's rail operations personnel have specialized and extensive experience in rail and transit operations and rail operations simulation.
The incumbent performs rail service planning and rail simulation modeling activities in partnership with a project team. Who You Are
Required Qualifications
