1st Shift | Monday - Friday | 5:00am-1:30pm
ITW Residential & Renovation offers a broad range of professional grade anchoring tools and fasteners for numerous construction applications. Our products include wood to wood fastening systems (Paslode), structural wood fasteners (GRK FastenersTM), concrete anchoring systems (TapconR, Red HeadR, RamsetR), underlayment screws (Rock-OnR, Backer-OnR), self-drilling screws (TeksR) and drywall anchoring systems (E-Z AncorR). ITW Residential & Renovation excels in meeting the growing demands from end-users for high-quality home improvement and construction fastening products. Our products are trusted by industry professionals and each brand is the market leader in its respective category in terms of quality, performance and ease of use.
Summary:
This position is responsible for the setup, operation, and preventative maintenance of equipment in order to produce according to quality specifications in an efficient and safe manner.
Core Responsibilities:
Performs setup and operates a variety of in-lined equipment to cold head, point and thread-roll fasteners for commercial construction applications.
Maintains machinery through preventive maintenance
Performs quality checks in adherence to specifications sheets; will also be responsible for documentation.
Drives safety practices and procedures including identifying safety hazards.
Ensures all housekeeping practices and procedures are met
Performs 5-S activities and improvements as required
Works with other team members and participates in team events and meetings.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED, preferred but not required.
At least one year of experience in high-volume manufacturing highly preferred (e.g. equipment setup/operation/changeover, use of measurement tools and knowledge of preventive maintenance)
Willing to work assigned shift with some mandatory overtime including weekends
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
Ability to understand basic machinery
Prior experience with hand tools (e.g. wrenches)
Ability to recognize and identify parts, problems, and offer resolution
Ability to read blueprints / specification sheets and follow instructions
Must be able to work in a team environment
Must have reliable transportation as this job will require travel between Roselle and Itasca
Successfully complete on-the-job training (blueprint reading and measurement tools)
General housekeeping duties
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this position, within typical manufacturing and warehouse working conditions.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be exposed to fumes, heat and dust, climate variances and moving mechanical equipment typically found in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is high when exposed to the manufacturing areas. Certain personal protective equipment is required when in the manufacturing areas. Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to grip, grasp, reach, push and pull with hands and arms, walk, stand, speak and listen, climb, kneel, bend, sit, mount and dismount power industrial vehicle and able to walk on hard surfaces such as concrete. Assemble/un-assemble a wide range of products, using drawings, work instructions, and tests to performance specifications.
Completes required documentation.
Utilizes the inventory management System-Kanban, cycle counting, physical inventory.
Performs material handling, receiving and stocking of materials and sales coordination.
Adheres to facility safety and health requirements; wears prescribed PPE.
Maintains work area, tools and/or equipment, and machines.

Equipment Requirements:
Precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, height gages, dial indicators, Vernier calipers, thread gages, and special gages. Also checking fixtures, templates, magnifying glass, scales, and inspection stamps. Surface plate and accessory equipment, optical comparator, hardness testing equipment, templates, Salt spray machine, light booth, spectrophotometer, and specialized equipment for determining and recording distortions in metals or plastics.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent work experience required.
- 1+ years manufacturing experience (Quality background a plus)
- Good measuring skills (ie. Caliper, micrometer preferred)
- Able to read a blue-prints and differentiate colors
- Must have good oral and written communication skills
- Computer Skills (MS Office, word and excel)
- Must be able to work in a team or individual environment
- Self-motivated individual who must be able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds
- Must be able to work a flexible shift, including overtime and weekends
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Must be able to bend, push, pull, stoop, and stand for majority of the work shift.

Responsibilities:
- Work on a variety of machinery, devices, motor controls and electrical circuits as directed.

- Able to read and create schematic diagrams and troubleshoot problems with or without the aid of a diagram. Trouble-shoots automation equipment problems, repairs in efficient/timely manner to maximized utilization
- Diagnose problems, wire, or re-wire machines, replace or repair parts, detect and replace defective control modules, test, and make adjustments.

Adjusts speed control knobs to synchronize transfer and ejection of stock with machine action
Selects correct SEMS components (washers) and loads into machine
Complies with all safety regulations and TS161949 policies
Verifies dimensions of workpieces with specifications. Modifies and grinds thread roll dies as necessary
Maintains, oils, and cleans machines on a regular basis. Drains and cleans oil trays; dumps scrap and sweeps floors to maintain housekeeping standards

Summary:
Ensures molding machines and peripheral equipment are maintained and efficiently producing good quality parts.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Mold set-up and adjustment on molding and assembly repairs, equipment troubleshooting and minor repairs, quality checks, material handling including filling and emptying machine hoppers and grinders, housekeeping and operator instructions
- Maintain machines in proper operation: To include verifying set-up parameters of process, as well as condition of machine. Verify all monitors are on and set to proper parameters
Trouble shooting of processing problems and defects
- Setting molds, dies, etc., to conform to scheduled requirements, to include leaving the workstation clean and organized, with quality parts coming from the process, while minimizing downtime.
- Periodically (as set by the Manager) checking machine cycle time and yields are met, quality of parts coming from process, and overall consistency of process
- Maintains set-up sheets
- Maintaining production records for shift
- Ensure last shot in capture for molds coming out of production
- Ensure good housekeeping
- Has authority and responsibility to stop molding process due to quality concerns
- Performance of Preventive Maintenance
- Training of Material Handlers and Operators as needed
- Monitor Materials
- Assure proper product is running
- Assist with cost saving, labor, & ergonomic improvements
- Support the shift needs as necessary
- Complete any, and all, tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required
- 5+ years Set-up Technician experience in plastic injection molding environment required
- Complete understanding of injection molding machine(s) and auxiliary equipment operations and repair. Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication both written and verbal skills.
- Knowledge of Wittmann robots.
- Understanding of OSHA requirements (i.e. Lockout/Tagout, Forklift)
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule which includes overtime and weekends

Receive and disburse orders as follows:
Receives items by unloading vehicles; accepting deliveries; unpacking containers.
With a high level of accuracy prepare paperwork to document receipt of incoming materials.

Primary Objective:

Accountability:

Provides the required level of documentation for custom or standard projects. Specific tasks may include making models, drawings and assemblies and Bill of Materials using the CAD system and other computer tools, as required. Follows all MTS CAD Best Practices for model creation, drawing creation, file management and revision control.
Verifies completed work; checks dimensions, Bills of Materials, materials to be used, quantities, processing information, and adherence to Best Practices.
Makes reasonable and sound decisions to meet budgets (both labor and cost) and deadlines. Provides scheduling, costing and technical information concerning the designs supported as well as status updates and information to internal departments and external vendors affected by design development.
Resolves mechanical and fabrication problems with designed or purchased parts used in a design. Assures that any changes are documented and prepared in accordance with engineering change procedures and in a timely manner.
Develops and maintains effective communication and working relationships with all levels throughout MTS. Provides regular feedback and updates to project team members and immediate supervisor about the status of design tasks.

- Maintain a proper flow of material to area of responsibility so that operation does not cease for lack of supplies.
- Make material/color changes in a timely manner to include leaving the workstation clean and organized
- Ensure product is stored and utilized in FIFO mode.
- Perform problem-solving techniques in evaluating material vacuum/drying system problems.
- Move, wrap and label finished product when so directed. Document lot control where required.
- Removes any old labels from gaylords, boxes and totes.
- Maintain proper rotation of raw material/components. Support Set-up Technicians as needed
- Responsible for using pallet walkie to move material to the blending area and placing pallets in the correct order so they properly set up the vacuum area.
- Must clean filters hourly to make sure material is properly flowing at the correct percentage through the blender.
- Report inventory of raw goods to the materials team weekly by doing a physical inventory in the rack area.
- Responsible for the upkeep of the blending machines daily by cleaning out the hoppers to make sure they are ready for next blend.
Required Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required or equivalent work experience
- 1+ years' experience in manufacturing environment required
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate verbally with good organizational skills required. Must be detailed orientated.
- Must have basic computer skills Must have a basic knowledge of machine operation and plastic injection molding
- Motivated to grow and develop skills for advancement
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule which includes weekends and overtime

Summary: Ensure efficient machine operation to produce quality product while working safely and meeting delivery expectations to our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Operate assembly/or molding machine and auxiliary equipment.
- Inspect assembled or molded parts/assemblies as processed per work instructions
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures
- Trouble-shoot and repair minor machine problems
- Restart machine after repair or notify Automation Technician if repair is unsuccessful
- Package parts per work instructions
- Responsible for notifying Line Leads, Quality Inspector, Automation Technician and/or Supervisor of any and all defects detected
- Responsible to maintain assigned workstation in an organized and clean manner
- Must remain at workstation unless on break/lunch or authorized by the correct chain of command
- Must complete daily an accurate production report recording scrap and produced parts
- Remove any old labels from gaylords, boxes, and labels
- Other duties may be assigned.
Material Tools: hand tools: trim knives, plastic cutters, steel wool, soft or mesh gloves
Assembly and accessory equipment attached to the performance of a specific part such as cooling fixture, heat gun, and grinders
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience required
- Minimum of 1year previous work experience preferred
- Operator in Manufacturing environment experience preferred
- Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to perform duties independently or in a team environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications:

- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point, Outlook, IMES a plus
- Ability to plan, organize, and implement with attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to motivate and influence others
- Must be proactive in work assignments and enjoy fast paced work environment
- Able to positively and effectively influence and disseminate information between Production and Management
