MTS is seeking an experienced Lead Software Test Engineer with manufacturing experience. The Software Test Engineer is a member of the application Software Development Team. The team is responsible for the design, creation, test and continual improvement of MTS application software focused on high performance simulation, analysis and motion control. The Software Test Lead is responsible for Functional Regression, Integration and Acceptance test planning and execution. Must be collaborative personality and have the ability to lead projects.

Primary Objective:

To plan, coordinate and execute the testing strategy for the product.

Major Areas of Accountability:

  1. Coordinate testing effort. Define the time estimates for each test phase and create a schedule. Provide work direction to test engineers participating in the testing. Train test engineers on equipment and test methods. Work with management to solicit internal users as testing resources when required.

  2. Create the test strategy and test plan. Maintain process and procedures consistent with overall MTS testing philosophy.

  3. Represent test/quality with management. Provide feedback on testing status. Generate reports, track metrics, and create post-release summary.

  4. Design and generate high quality, cost effective test cases. Execute test cases using black box techniques and automated testing where applicable. Record and track defects.

  5. Manage the testing environment. Keep the lab up-to-date with test machines and hardware needed to support the testing effort. Maintain an effective and current image management system for the test lab.

  6. Support product development by participating in requirement and design reviews to ensure the specifications are testable and meet our quality standards.

  7. Evaluate software changes for impact on testing, ensuring that effort is made to minimize cost of change.

  8. Archive and organize test results and artifacts using configuration management tools.

  9. Keep current with advances in test practices and methodologies.

  10. Act as a liaison with technical support to provide assistance to internal and external customers.

  11. Practice continuous process improvement for opportunities to improve the quality of the test process, including reduction of costs and improved efficiency

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering & 5 years progressively demanding software test experience or AA (vo-tech) deg. in a technical field & 9 years relevant technical exp. or 13 years relevant technical experience.

Solid knowledge of the domain of SW Test/ Development

Demonstrated leadership experience as a Test Lead or other leadership role.

Job Description

The Quality Engineer position provides daily tactical communication and recommendations to management, staff, and formulators to enhance product quality and improve process control. The Quality Engineer maintains procedural and production documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate standards and utilizes lab equipment to perform inspections on incoming raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods to ensure compliance with product quality standards. The Quality Engineer also conducts Internal and Process audits as necessary and leads root cause and corrective/preventative action activities when needed.

. Document and maintain lab testing procedures, manufacturing work instructions, and detailed product inspection records.

. Analyze production and inspection data to identify trends, produce product and process reports, and generate finished good product certifications.

. Lead root cause and corrective/preventative action activities as they relate to batch failures, product complaints, and continual improvement initiatives.

. Make minor adjustments to correct out-of-specification batches. Coordinate with chemists on larger or novel batch adjustments.

. Manage storage and disposition of hazardous waste generated in the facility.

. Maintain calibration system and perform internal calibrations as required.

. Promote, support, and adhere to all safety, environmental, and quality related policies and procedures in the facility.

. Collaborate with R&D chemists on new product development and offset raw material considerations.

. Maintain a clean, orderly lab utilizing 5S principles.

. Conduct Internal and Process Audits as needed.

. Develop a detailed understanding of the facility's manufacturing environment and ERP system.

. Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering or related. Recent college graduate, with internships in quality control testing or equivalent lab experience.

. Understanding of basic mathematical operations and quality problem solving tools.

. Ability to work and make decisions both independently and collaboratively.

. Proficiency with MS Office and ability to enter inspection data into a collection database.

. Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and investigative skills.

. Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 standard.

. Hands-on experience in QC testing of coating or adhesive formulations is highly preferred.

. Proficiency in statistical analysis and tools is a plus.

Position Summary:

The Cell Leader - Deltar Fasteners reports to the Manufacturing Manager - Deltar Fasteners and will be responsible for motivating positive and productive employee development, strong customer relations skills, coupled with high energy experience to mentor and motivate a team to deliver quality product on time.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision of multiple employees including assisting with interviewing, hiring, and training of employees

  • Planning and directing work assignments of direct reports

  • Providing employees with productive communication regarding performance and solution based communication for necessary improvement requirements

Primary Objective:

The Electrical Engineer (EE) Intern will support developing and improving a wide range of electrical products focused on high performance motion control and precision data acquisition. Our controllers enable MTS Test & Simulation systems to achieve world class performance, safety, and reliability for our customers' most challenging mechanical testing needs. The example responsibilities of EE intern include supporting of circuit board development, programmable logic design, and overall implementation of embedded hardware and firmware for control electronics and data acquisition systems.

Major Areas of Accountability:

The EE intern will support the following activities:

  • Schematic capture & PCB design

  • Embedded firmware and microprocessor programming

  • Digital signal processing and digital filter design

  • Digital Communication and third-party interfaces

  • Develop and maintain test plans, test procedures, and test reports

  • Provide technical support for Contract Manufacturing partners in production related issues

  • Assisting documentation and processes that conform with ISO quality objectives

  • Technical reports, presentations, knowledge sharing

  • Pursuit or attainment of a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, or a related field

  • A minimum 3.0 out of a 4.0 cumulative GPA

  • Prior work on projects in a team environment is preferred

  • Relevant academic projects, internship or lab experience preferred

  • Knowledge of basic electrical engineering concepts of design and schematics preferred.

  • Knowledge of Altium and/or AutoCAD is a plus

  • Knowledge of one or more of the following programming languages preferred: Python, MATLAB, C/C++, VHDL

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

This is a Los Angeles, CA based entry-level position under the direction of Install Team Leader and Service Manager. The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting with equipment installations and maintenance as required. The candidate will assist with the assembly of equipment and inspect for proper operation, uncrating and moving of equipment into position. The individual will be responsible for driving service and delivery truck to the intended destination to deliver or pick up equipment with the use of a lift-gate. Must also assist other Branch employees and Service Technicians as required. Must be willing to work hours as needed.

What you'll bring to the table:

  • High School diploma/GED or related experience

  • 0-1 year minimum experience in related field.

  • Be able to work with mechanical/electrical equipment safely

  • Basic Knowledge of Welding, Hydraulics and/or Electrical Skills

  • Understand How to Troubleshoot Mechanical Problems

  • Basic plumbing and soldering knowledge

  • Basic knowledge of CO2 and Freon

  • Basic knowledge of moving tools and equipment

  • Customer Service skills- resolving customer issues. ensuring appropriate communication with customers and following up on customer requests

  • Required to manage expense reports and travel budgets.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting 50-75 lbs with or without assistance

  • Climbing up to 8 ft with ladder. Working on roofs of building will be required

  • Extensive driving 5-6 hours/day

  • Kneeling, squatting, bending, pushing/pulling

  • Exposure to noise, heat, cold, slippery, wet conditions

  • Will need to be able to travel for overnight and multiple day job assignments.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

. Work under close supervision of the Production Lead.
