The American Heart Association's Internship Program provides college students an opportunity for hands-on experience in various facets for individuals interested in gaining work experience with a non-profit, voluntary health organization.
The work of the American Heart Association's Global Corporate Relations team is integral to the American Heart Association. Our team works diligently to find creative and informative solutions to support the Corporate Relations team. We are seeking an intern with a passion for project management and helping others through efficiency. Ideal candidates will have project management experience, possess graphic design skills, and have strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities
Tasks could include things like the following:
Assist with planning of team meetings and Symposiums such as the International Stroke Conference, European Society of Cardiology, and American College of Cardiology.
Provide support around event timelines, budgets, and other deliverables.
Project Management
Creation of job aids and templates.
Review and look for opportunities to improve the organization and management of our SharePoint site.
Corporate Relations Review Committee preparations.
Qualifications
Knowledge of basic graphic design including basics of Canva.
Demonstrated excellence in written communications skills, including writing on health topics for promotional or educational outcomes.
Demonstrated skills in effective one-on-one and group communications and comfort with working with all levels of community leaders, volunteers, and staff.
Ability to deal professionally in a corporate or non-profit environment and assume responsibility for guiding projects and programs from inception through completion.
Effective oral and presentation communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities involving multiple entities.
Intermediate to excellent proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Required Equipment: Reliable WiFi Connection.
Minimum availability of 20 hrs/wk, M-F between the hours of 8:30am-5pm.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future. For any roles working remotely, the work must also be performed inside the United States, not in a foreign country.

We are currently hiring for a Development Director for our Northeast Wisconsin corporate fundraising campaigns. The Director will oversee our Heart Challenge, Go Red for Women, and Heart of Northeast Wisconsin campaigns, which all include signature fundraising events.
This position offers a hybrid schedule and will be based in Madison or in the Fox Valley area.
We have a fast-paced sales type of environment with the main responsibility of driving revenue in support of our mission. We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay. The potential incentive is based on achieving certain revenue targets and triggers.

Responsibilities
Generate revenue by prospecting and securing local corporate sponsorship and individual donations. Achieve revenue goals by building and maintaining relationships with corporate partners and donors.
Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective corporate sponsors and donors by conducting research that matches to the campaign goals and the Association's mission.
Develop and present proposals and accompanying materials to secure revenue and volunteer engagement.
Recruit and be responsible for executive volunteer leadership, volunteer committees, and day-of-the-event volunteers.
Recruit corporate team participation in Heart Walk and motivate team members to fundraise.
Coordinate the event auction including leading a committee of volunteers to solicit auction items and prepare packages that will raise funds.
Lead and engage new individual membership for our Cor Vitae giving society, in partnership with other appropriate fundraising staff. Includes planning and implementing regular engagement events for members.
Plan and implement events in collaboration with internal and external partners.
Work with a Communications Director to support and promote campaign communication plans.
Qualifications
3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or equivalent type experience
Ability to do daily local travel up to 50% if living in the Fox Valley area, or travel 4-5 times monthly to the area from Madison; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis
Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving
Must have at least basic knowledge and skill/proficiency with Microsoft Office

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field
Fifteen (15) years of marketing experience in a CPG company, consumer brand, healthcare organization, non-profit, or communications or storytelling organization.
Ten (10) years of experience leading, managing, and evolving large marketing teams.
Demonstrated ability to bring vision to life from concept to creation utilizing traditional and non-traditional avenues for reach and engagement.
Digital expert, with a track record of success across all media channels.
Ability to manage and pitch to key opinion-leading content networks/sponsors and profound knowledge and expertise in content marketing and sales.
Strong marketing and/or cause marketing consulting where you have successfully provided guidance around communications and marketing at the Corporate and branch office level.
Experience in building a content business enterprise that expands an organization's reach, impact, and revenue.
Strong financial and business skills around P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
A thorough understanding of either nonprofit or consumer-focused services industries
Outstanding people management skills, recognizing the value of -bottom up- as well as -top down- information and idea flow; ability to deliver results through both influence and control.
Superior written presentation, communication skills; the ability to interact credibly and diplomatically with all levels in an organization and in the outside community-tailoring communications effectively for different groups and stakeholders;

Willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 25.
Preferred Qualifications:

Qualifications

Coordinate and assist with blood pressure, nutrition security, and tobacco screening and referrals to needed services in clinical or community settings.
Help assess community member barriers to healthcare access and potential solutions.
Deliver health education, 1:1 or group settings, on heart health related topics including cardiovascular disease, smoking cessation, nutrition, blood pressure, and chronic diseases such as diabetes.
Help identify and collaborate with local resources and organizations to support healthy living and skill building within the community.
Support patients/community members in navigating the care, community programs, resources they need around monitoring blood pressure, nutrition security, smoking cessation, and cardiovascular health.
Launch learning collaboratives for health or community centers. This may include developing and delivering presentations using AHA's evidence-based data, prepared materials, and program resources.
Plan and conduct local health skill building workshops, health fairs, town halls or community conversations - to raise awareness and help community members manage their health.
Cultivate and manage volunteer clubs in local schools or community organizations.
Educate community groups on hands-only CPR.
Actively participate in AmeriCorps pre-service orientation, HeartCorps member development meetings and assigned trainings.
Qualifications
Participation Requirements Include:
At least 18 years of age.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
United States citizen, United States national, or a lawful permanent resident alien of the United States.
Reliable transportation to get to and from host site each day and to community-based activities.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Willingness to learn and grow during service term.
Passion for health equity and interest in promoting health in rural America.
Ability to work in a team environment and independently, prioritize work assignments, and meet deadlines.
Customer and solution focused. Good listener, non-judgmental, open minded, and resourceful.
Satisfy the National Service Criminal History Check eligibility criteria-nationwide check of the National Sex Offender Public website, state criminal history record check, and a fingerprint-based check of the FBI criminal history record database.
Service members who will use their personal vehicle for HeartCorps related travel during their service period will be required to maintain a valid drivers' license as well as at least the minimum automobile liability insurance coverage required by law. These members will also be required to provide a copy of their valid license and documentation of the minimum automobile liability insurance coverage during the onboarding process.
Experience or coursework in public health, health communications, health promotion, or health sciences preferred.
Some host sites may require proof of vaccination for Covid-19 or other immunizations as a condition of placement. Candidates will be made aware if applicable to their application for a particular host site.
Compensation & Benefits
HeartCorps Service Members Will Receive:
A bi-weekly living stipend of $1108.70 (taxable).

Experience or coursework in public health, health communications, health promotion, or health sciences preferred.
Some host sites may require proof of vaccination for Covid-19 or other immunizations as a condition of placement. Candidates will be made aware if applicable to their application for a particular host site.

Assist with public health surveys. This may include recruiting participants, administering the survey in-person or via phone, tracking data, and/or running reports.
Coordinate and assist with blood pressure, nutrition security, and tobacco screening and referrals to needed services in clinical or community settings.
Help assess community member barriers to healthcare access and potential solutions.
Deliver health education, 1:1 or group settings, on heart health related topics including cardiovascular disease, smoking cessation, nutrition, blood pressure, and chronic diseases such as diabetes.
Help identify and collaborate with local resources and organizations to support healthy living and skill building within the community.
Support patients/community members in navigating the care, community programs, resources they need around monitoring blood pressure, nutrition security, smoking cessation, and cardiovascular health.
Launch learning collaboratives for health or community centers. This may include developing and delivering presentations using AHA's evidence-based data, prepared materials, and program resources.
Plan and conduct local health skill building workshops, health fairs, town halls or community conversations - to raise awareness and help community members manage their health.

Responsibilities
As the Vice President of Development, you will be responsible for:
Work alongside the Executive Director on key donor relationships, not only stewarding them, but also strategizing on how to deepen impact in time, talent, and treasure.
Work alongside Executive Director on mid to large company prospecting, sales process, and onboarding. This will include assisting with Top 25 Prospect List management and first class service when bringing a new company into the Miami-Dade market.
Have the principal responsibility of securely positioning the Market for aggressive growth in unrestricted revenue on an increasing and sustainable basis through building a dynamic development team and volunteer leadership talent and capabilities.
Operationalizing the vision, management of staff, and implementation of strategic priorities, and volunteer and employee engagement plans
Achieving financial targets while leading multiple revenue channels.
Driving new business development and growing the number of new partnerships supporting the work of the American Heart Association.
Growing overall market revenue by implementing organizationally identified best practices.
Will aggressively work with two direct reports and development staff on new company growth and development, both in revenue and leadership engagement/recruitment.
Foster a professional work environment that promotes and values collaboration, trust, teamwork, empowerment, professionalism, and diversity where communication is open, staff celebrates each other's successes, and conflicts are identified and quickly resolved.
Work with Executive Director and direct reports to maintain a minimum of three years of -transformational- Chairs for Heart Challenge campaign and build volunteer leadership engagement across the market.
Partner with Southeast Region and National American Heart Association resources to provide management expertise, coaching, and monitoring for fundraising events to ensure the aggressive growth of events and focused year-round attention by monitoring internal reports and management of development staff.
Participating in community and corporate functions that will provide networking and visibility opportunities to facilitate generating new business contacts.
Travel within the market is required for donor and partner meetings. Travel to office in Hollywood, FL for team meetings.

HeartCorps, a Public Health AmeriCorps program, seeks to enroll 100 Public Health AmeriCorps members in rural communities to accelerate our work around high blood pressure, nutrition security and smoking cessation. Members will serve onsite at a health center, hospital, public health department or non-profit organization within the rural community.
We are seeking a full-time service member to support this work at Centerville Clinics in Washington, PA, starting December 04, 2023. Full-time service placements are typically Monday-Friday serving 8.25 hours per day for a minimum of 1700 hours. Some placements may include occasional evening or weekend hours.

Responsibilities
Roles of Service Members:
To address the disproportionate rates of uncontrolled hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases in rural communities, HeartCorps members, under the guidance of their host site supervisor, will
Facilitate adoption of evidence-based blood pressure measurement practices.
Assist with public health surveys. This may include recruiting participants, administering the survey in-person or via phone, tracking data, and/or running reports.
Coordinate and assist with blood pressure, nutrition security, and tobacco screening and referrals to needed services in clinical or community settings.
Help assess community member barriers to healthcare access and potential solutions.
Deliver health education, 1:1 or group settings, on heart health related topics including cardiovascular disease, smoking cessation, nutrition, blood pressure, and chronic diseases such as diabetes.
Help identify and collaborate with local resources and organizations to support healthy living and skill building within the community.
Support patients/community members in navigating the care, community programs, resources they need around monitoring blood pressure, nutrition security, smoking cessation, and cardiovascular health.
Launch learning collaboratives for health or community centers. This may include developing and delivering presentations using AHA's evidence-based data, prepared materials, and program resources.
Plan and conduct local health skill building workshops, health fairs, town halls or community conversations - to raise awareness and help community members manage their health.
Cultivate and manage volunteer clubs in local schools or community organizations.
Educate community groups on hands-only CPR.
Actively participate in AmeriCorps pre-service orientation, HeartCorps member development meetings and assigned trainings.

Service members who will use their personal vehicle for HeartCorps related travel during their service period will be required to maintain a valid drivers' license as well as at least the minimum automobile liability insurance coverage required by law. These members will also be required to provide a copy of their valid license and documentation of the minimum automobile liability insurance coverage during the onboarding process.
Experience or coursework in public health, health communications, health promotion, or health sciences preferred.
Some host sites may require proof of vaccination for Covid-19 or other immunizations as a condition of placement. Candidates will be made aware if applicable to their application for a particular host site.

Responsibilities
The Data Processing Coordinator will focus on the data support for fundraising events, including all database management and financial reporting. Duties include accurate entry of donor pipelines, leadership and donation data, ticket fair market value (FMV) and all data to support the event. You will work with various teams on special types of donations including matching gifts, split gifts, donor advised funds and financial corrections. Will ensure donor acknowledgments are properly sent.
In this role, you will report to the Director of Business Operations and will work with a team of fundraisers and coordinators to manage the data for various markets within the Support Services teams.

We are currently hiring for a School Fundraising Director . The Director will primarily handle the overall implementation and promotion of our K-12 school fundraising campaigns in central MN, down to the North Metro of the Twin Cities and up to Grand Rapids/Duluth area. This Director will also oversee our Heart Walk in Detroit Lakes. The ideal candidate will be located in the Twin Cities, St Cloud, Brainerd, or Duluth areas.
This is fast paced sales type of position with the main accountability of driving revenue. Competitive salary with incentive potential is offered. Director will be based in a home office.
We have a fast-paced sales type of environment with the main responsibility of driving revenue in support of our mission. We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay. The potential incentive is based on achieving certain revenue targets and triggers.

Responsibilities
Prospect and secure school participation using sales methods.
Recruit, train, and motivate School Volunteers (mainly PE teachers but not exclusively) to implement and coordinate our school programs in fundraising and achieve the fundraising goal to further our mission.
Lead kick-off assemblies at schools holding event where applicable.
Ensure each school has the materials and resources needed to have a successful event.
Perform summer cultivation with school administrators at both the school and district level.
Solicit corporate sponsorships in the summer for school educational programs.
Qualifications
2 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or equivalent type experience; New grads are encouraged to apply!
Ability to do daily local travel up to 75%; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis
Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving
Must have at least basic knowledge and skill/proficiency with Microsoft Office
Here are some of the preferred experience skills we are seeking:
University/College degree or equivalent experience, preferred
Ability to recruit, train and counsel School Coordinators to achieve goals and objectives
Knowledge of corporate and community networks
