As an Inventory Coordinator at Caterpillar Inc., you will work from a variety of source documents to verify part numbers, part locations and quantities. Ensure daily shipments are prepared and loaded correctly to include weight distribution and paperwork accuracy. In addition to counting parts and coordinating order fulfilment, you will also manage traceability of parts through the value streams and target aged inventory.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

-Manage order fulfilment, processing, storing/picking of parts, equipment and supplies

-Manage and oversee shipping and receiving of material

-Multiple systems interactions

-Coordinate expedited parts to support the customer

-Manage zones through targeting aged inventory, leading reconciliation and investigating root cause

-Supporting and leading inventory problem-solving events to drive continuous improvement

-Coordinate or execute random and scheduled inventory and receipt audits as directed

-Accountable for tracking quality metrics and meeting quality goals

-Coordinate investigations on customer reported defects, including internal logistics customers

-Occasionally utilizing heavy equipment, reach trucks, sit-down forklifts and overhead cranes

-Occasionally perform material handling and warehousing functions as required

Essential Job Functions:

-Occasionally lift parts up to 35 pounds individually or 70 pound as team lift

-Frequent bending, reaching and squatting while performing tasks

-Consistent usage of required PPE for task being performed

-Work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures

Basic Qualifications:

-6+ months warehouse inventory or parts distribution experience

-Competent with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

About the Role / What You Will Do

Parallel Co-Op Engineers work alongside engineering teams to complete design & simulation tasks in support of Caterpillar product development in the following areas:

  • Product Design: Engineer components & systems for Caterpillar products to meet our customers' needs. Deliver solutions by leading collaboration with cross functional teams throughout our value chain starting from initial concept through to production.

  • Simulation/Performance Analysis: CFD - Computational Fluid Dynamics (ANSYS), FEA - Finite Element Analysis, 3D modelling, root cause investigation; system/subsystem/component design optimization, structural dynamics, development and optimization of Engine, Aftertreatment, Battery, Fuel Cell, Powertrain, and/or Machine System performance.

  • Test/Validation/Hands on: Apply strong mechanical engineering understanding in a test/validation (hands-on) environment, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with others for optimal results.

  • Controls Development: Develop/Implement control system algorithms using Matlab/Simulink for various control systems including but not limited to engine controllers, machine implement controllers as well as powertrain controllers. Will be responsible for understanding the feature requirement, implementing it as well as testing it prior to a production roll out.

  • Electronic Components: Will be responsible for designing and testing various electronic control modules as well as various electronic components. Will work with various internal Caterpillar clients to understand controller/component requirements, help design Printed Circuit Board layouts as well as perform digital/analog/power circuit analysis and testing. Other duties may include working with suppliers, testing the controllers/components in various environments, ensuring that FMEAs [Failure Mode and Effects Analysis] are conducted and documented to meet stringent Caterpillar quality requirements.

  • Embedded Software Development: Develop embedded software in C, C# and/or C++ for various electronic control modules. Some examples of embedded software development applications include Datalink communications, Inputs and Outputs [Sensors and actuators], speed calculation, Injection/spark timing, memory management, CPU optimization, multi core design and implementation etc. In addition, some areas of work include developing scripts in Python/Visual Basic for automation.

  • Software Validation/Verification for Electronic Systems: Verify functionality of a feature or control system algorithm on a HIL [Hardware in the Loop] simulator bench or a SIL [Software in the loop] system. Understand requirements of the feature and/or the schematics of the controller/control system, verify functionality and debug/report anomalies to the development team and help validate fixes.

  • Engineering Data Analytics: Ability to write and understand computer code; Python; analytics/data science experience; exposure to machine learning concepts/tools; engineering and statistics fundamentals.

Parallel Co-Op Engineers work alongside engineering teams to complete design & simulation tasks in support of Caterpillar product development in the following areas:

  • Product Design: Engineer components & systems for Caterpillar products to meet our customers' needs. Deliver solutions by leading collaboration with cross functional teams throughout our value chain starting from initial concept through to production.

Caterpillar's Change Management Coach provides strategic and operational change management coaching to Business Partners. You will drive the adoption and application of best practices in the Caterpillar Global Change Management model to mitigate risks to and to drive early value-realization, achieving both tangible and intangible benefits. What you will do:

  • Be a champion in influencing and driving the worldwide and region-wide adoption and practice of the Caterpillar Global Change Management (CGCM) model across Caterpillar.

  • Provide global service community support in implementation of the Caterpillar Strategic Vision in order to drive significant changes across the Caterpillar enterprise.

  • Provide leadership and coaching to Department Heads, Divisional Managers, and Business Unit/Process Partner Leaders on effective change management to mitigate their risks and to achieve the realization of green-dollar and intangible benefits of all change products.

  • Spearhead the growth of a network of change agents and change management expertise by providing on-going support to their change management journeys.

  • Provide leadership to process teams to create a common integrated change approach across different process areas. In addition, enlist subject matter experts to conduct workshops to define the process, structural, people and cultural changes across functional divisions. Coach sponsors and change agents on their respective roles.

  • Orchestrate with global partners to create and execute a comprehensive change communication program, learning program and rewards program.

  • Provide leadership to develop and enhance new/additional capabilities in change management by incorporating best practices from the field of Change Management Development such as learning systems, organization structures, rewards and compensation programs.

  • Champion the use of corporate collaboration tools in sharing lessons learned.

  • Lead focus and work groups using the CGCM process as well as being knowledgeable in the Workout process for optimal team success.
