Job Description:

Caterpillar's Resource Industries Operations & Products (RIOP) Project Manager is a manufacturing subject matter expert within a high-performing Manufacturing Strategy team with responsibilities across the division. The incumbent will be accountable for developing and leading (or supporting another project lead) complex projects and programs at a division & facility level. Role includes managing New Source Introduction (NSI) footprint projects, supporting NPI programs, assisting with sourcing decisions, analyzing various production facilities and processes, guiding other manufacturing facility leaders, and developing production alternatives.

Seeking a subject matter expert who has extensive experience with machining processes and is familiar with tool design, including the ability to guide fixturing and tooling concepts and design. Ability to work with Design Engineering to improve manufacturability and develop more efficient processes is also important.

The role will work with facilities across the RIOP division, other Caterpillar facilities, and potentially with indirect and external suppliers on occasion.

Problems may be complex and can require the incumbent to develop solutions. Job Summary: Set-up and operate all CNC lathes including the CNC Dual Turn Machines. Will perform progressive machining operations using a variety of standardized work having close tolerance and finish requirements. The Section Manager 2 is responsible for the production stores inventory held in Lafayette in support of the nearby engine manufacturing facility. This leader is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records in support of Caterpillar's financial records as well as providing a clear signal to the assembly line for production. They are also responsible for managing the onboarding team who is responsible for training and certifying employees on the various types of MHE used in the warehouse. The Section Manager 2 is accountable for engaging and developing the team members.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Monitor and improve safety at the facility; prioritize Onboarding activities and inventory tasks to eliminate any unsafe operations and ensure a safe and clean product environment

• Responsible for inventory counts in support of the overall Inventory Record Accuracy (IRA) program as well as reactive counts required to resolve inventory discrepancies

• Able to lead the team in root cause corrective actions to not only fix inventory inaccuracies, but also to drive process improvements to maintain accurate records

• Responsible for working grief - rack grief, aged in transits, etc. to ensure all material is accounted for

• Determines overtime need, determines priorities when resources are insufficient, and decides when disciplinary action is necessary

• Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency. Works to improve processes, timeliness and reduce costs by eliminating non-value added activities

• Responsible for training and development of staff, time keeping, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, and ensuring consistent application of organizational needs

Basic Qualifications:

• 2+ years of logistics or supply chain experience

• A high school diploma, GED or its equivalent

• Prior supervisory experience

This is a weekend shift position. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:00am-6:00pm.

Job Summary: Set-up and operate all CNC lathes including the CNC Dual Turn Machines. Will perform progressive machining operations using a variety of standardized work having close tolerance and finish requirements. Will troubleshoot and perform general preventive maintenance on all listed machines. Proceeds on work assignments with a minimum of supervision and/or direction. Must be able to communicate and use tact to instruct and assist operators in the daily operations of the work cell.

Job Duties:

• Working from blueprint, set-up and operate CNC machines to perform routine machining process.

• Using a variety of measuring equipment and gauges, will perform quality checks according to the quality plan ensure the quality of the product produced.

• Utilize Through-Put to ensure an accurate count of parts according to the work order. Meet or exceed production requirements or notify Team Lead or Manager as to the reason for deviation.

• Add coolant and lubrication to machine as necessary.

• Perform all preventative maintenance and safety checks on machines.

• Recognize operating irregularities and machine malfunctions and troubleshoot problems to correct. If necessary, contact Team Lead for assistance.

• Perform changes and minor adjustments of all basic tooling, progressing to be able to change and adjust all tooling in the machine.

• Maintain cell board to communicate machine issues or related problems.

• Work safely at ALL times and comply with safety regulations regarding the use of protective equipment and devices.

• Keep work area, equipment, machines, storage areas, etc. clean and orderly at all times.

• Communicate daily with operators from other shifts, Team Lead, and Manager as to the condition of machines and or parts within your responsibility.

• Maintain records relating to production, downtime, quality, etc.

The Role

The Field Operations Technician I provides installation of Flowline Safety Restraints (FSR) on customer locations and assists in the flow iron shop as needed.

Provide communications consultation and support on a variety of internal and/or external assignments for Caterpillar's IT division. The incumbent is becoming effective as a practitioner, growing the skills sets needed to take on more of a strategic role.

Duties

The incumbent provides communications assistance within the department in the development and production of communication deliverables at the corporate and/or business unit level. The incumbent in this job prepares to take on the role of a more senior communications representative position and will gain an understanding of customer needs.
