Provides supply network solutions expertise, using Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, and Management (QCLDM) to deliver maximum value.

Job duties include but are not limited to the following:

To serve as the primary contact between Caterpillar and the supply base for global/regional initiatives, including filling the functional seat for commercial discussions/negotiations with suppliers, being the recognized expert for his or her assigned portion of the global category, supports development and execution of global category strategies, and drives performance excellence in Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, and Management (QCLDM) through direct leverage with the supply base partnering with Supplier Development Professional (SDP) personnel and Product/Facility Procurement organizations. Buyer may also be a Supplier Lead for suppliers with multiple source buyers. This Supplier Lead role will help to manage the supplier relationship for that supplier's location including but not limited to Supplier Relationship Mgmt., Supplier Performance Mgmt., Cost Mgmt., Risk Mgmt., and Category Network Mgmt. This role is responsible and accountable for the development, and/or communication and implementation of a regional, and worldwide sourcing strategy. Responsible for development, management and execution of the global category strategy managing policies, agreements, source catalogs, and special procurement programs. Accountable for the liaison with the corresponding source buyers.

Leadership - Provide leadership for strategic sourcing -qualified supply network, business continuity, supplier risk management - capacity & financial, logistics, contract management, supplier commercial negotiations, cost/spend management - TCA assurance, supplier on boarding/off boarding, lead/response time optimization and resource management decisions. Lead continuous improvement initiatives and purchasing new product introduction activities within Purchasing. Demonstrate leadership in recognizing the potential for cost and inventory reductions, and quality improvement; as well as responsibility for soundness of business proposals and risk assessment. Mentor and develop other Category Buyers, and Supply Network Specialists (where assigned). Promote the highest level of professionalism and business ethics.

Strategy - Tools and Techniques of 6 Sigma will be required and may be attained by Black Belt, Green Belt, Project Sponsor, or other 6 Sigma related training programs. The incumbent will actively participate on 6 Sourcing Strategic Sourcing teams to fully understand the current performance of the supply network, evaluate strategic options, decide a course of action, and begin implementation. The incumbent must also have strong knowledge of the product, Facility, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Category Strategies.

Supplier Development - Collaboration with key suppliers, to ensure continuous improvement in QCLDM with key suppliers. Build and foster mutually beneficial supplier relationships at all organizational levels.

Functional Leadership - Capable of leading teams, suppliers and customers to effective solutions. Analytical, problem solving, and project leadership skill.

Basic Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree from a college or university - OR equivalent experience

• Minimum of two years of progressively responsible job-related experience

Job Summary:

This position collaborates with suppliers to ensure execution to planned orders and schedules, and resolves issues with suppliers to ensure material availability for facility production. The incumbent works with the facility production schedulers and operations personnel to support facility production for all Advanced Power Products and point of use material availability. Ensures alignment of facility inventory accuracy and inventory systems planning parameters with the plan for every part to maintain planning integrity.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Incumbent ensures the timely delivery of materials to the facility, collaborating with suppliers to coordinate deliveries, shipping schedules and work schedules to meet facility production plans. Using supplier collaboration technologies, collaborates with suppliers and operations to plan delivery of material for production.

Actively collaborates with suppliers to perform root cause corrective actions to resolve quality and supplier performance issues. This work may require planning for alternate manufacturing methods.

This position analyzes established parts schedules and production requirements, converting requirements into appropriate piece parts, requisitioning the materials, regulating inventory levels and issuing work orders.

Incumbent manages and performs supplier scheduling and implementation of engineering changes for the efficient manufacture of products and components. This position supports supply chain performance efforts by monitoring and tracking supplier performance metrics.

Incumbent performs work to improve point of use material availability, applying root cause analysis and corrective actions. Provides Material Planning expertise to facility functions in support of improving demand variability, forecast credibility and usability for production planning.

Basic Qualifications:

- Knowledge and understanding of 6 Sigma project management principles

- CPS Functional Job Role Qualified

- APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification highly desired

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- College or university degree, or equivalent, preferably in Supply Chain and/or Logistics Management or Industrial Engineering is required

To develop and manage a facility / product group master scheduling process for all APP line that is innovative and promotes maximization of efficiency and optimization of resources/assets internally while retaining enough flexibility to ensure that all customer needs are met in a timely and cost-conscious manner. Responsible for key supply chain performance indicators across velocity and order-to-delivery.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Incumbent is accountable for performance results from production, attachment and inventory schedules as well as order fulfillment for facilities.

This position leads efforts to develop and recommend production, attachment, and inventory schedules and performs order fulfillment activities facilities, using common processes.

The incumbent leads the development of the master production plan to accommodate customer demand within practical production capabilities and analyzes and integrates information about internal and external employment stability and efficient manufacturing and appropriate inventory levels to achieve objectives. In addition, the incumbent leads, sponsors, governs and provides support for multiple project teams working with Supply Chain Performance and Planning groups at facilities and the Global Supplier Constraint Management Team to ensure robust capacity and constraint management is used in the development of master production plans. This will involve collaboration with the GSCM Team in determine purchased finished material allocation for facilities.

The incumbent leads the development of schedules for each prime product configuration, attachments and/or related products and monitors external issues which impact scheduling, including legal requirements related to manpower and the opening, closing and softening of markets due to economic and political conditions. Depending upon the size of the facilities involved, this role may perform tactical, day-to-day work to provide schedules.

The incumbent ensures that production schedules maintain demand and sequence integrity, and provide proper product availability to dealers/customers while balancing manufacturing constraint issues and ROA objectives. This position maximizes customer satisfaction through order administration and develops the constrained S&OP forecast, aligning tactics with the long-term product capacity and working closely with the Global Supplier Constraint Management team to schedule considering capacity, constraints and enterprise material allocation rules.

This position develops availability and inventory strategies that satisfy requirements for the Rolling Business Planning (RBM) shipment forecast and reconciles fluctuating demand and the need for factory stability while minimizing inventory investment. The incumbent is accountable for the successful deployment of demand variability reduction initiatives, working with the Global Supplier Constraint Management Team, and is accountable for results.

This position works closely with facility supply chain planning, operations and engineering personnel in support of the new product introduction process, ensuring process conformance and plays a key role in the facility to manage the phasein/phaseout schedule plans for New Product Introduction.

Leads efforts to optimize product mix in short supply based on margin, forecasts, large project requirements, special customers, etc. This responsibility will be performed in collaboration with the Global Supplier Constraint Management Team, who will recommend allocation of material to facilities based on the enterprise allocation process.

Provides availability administration including demand management, special order programs, responding to critical deals, quoting delivery for large projects, etc. Prepares scheduling proposals to accommodate special situations such as strike hedge plans or reviewing costs and consequences of layoffs, carrying inventory, using plant shutdowns, etc.

Incumbent is a key facility sponsor and leads efforts to stock Product Distribution Centers with material according to the product lane strategy. This position leads facility efforts to define and deploy the facility lane strategy, working across multiple functions including plant distribution, Product Distribution Facility personnel, operations, product support and facility supply chain planning.

This role leads team efforts to gather and analyzes data about supplier shipping performance and variability % for each part number (both Time and Qty). This position leads team efforts to develop material flow plans for all material coming into a facility for production. Incumbent uses part plan data from the Plan for Every Part web tool to drive flow and velocity improvements in the plant. This position leads the work of Supply Chain Planning Analysts in the documentation of this data into the Plan for Every Part web tool.

To develop and manage a facility / product group master scheduling process for all APP line that is innovative and promotes maximization of efficiency and optimization of resources/assets internally while retaining enough flexibility to ensure that all customer needs are met in a timely and cost-conscious manner. The purpose of this position is to perform the duties associated with the maintenance of facilities and equipment that support the production of Caterpillar Excavators. Maintenance Technicians report to Section Managers and will be assigned to areas within the business to meet customer and company demands. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand walk use hands/fingers to handle, or feel reach with hands and arms climb, ascend/descend or balance to heights that may require a ladder or lift stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces and talk or hear. The technician candidate should complete live panel entry training

• Ability to Pass Caterpillar Weld Certifications and AWS Weld certifications

• Mechanical knowledge of basic machines (pulleys, levers, etc.), pneumatics, hydraulics, gears, reducers, bearings, lubrication theory, drive components (sheaves, sprockets, chain belts, take-ups), and equipment alignment. *Knowledge of all phases of cutting and welding

• Ability to adjust to constantly changing priorities and ability to multi-task

• Experience working in a team environment

• Willing to train less experienced technicians

• Must have good organization skills, computer skills (Word and Excel), and basic math skills (Algebra)

• Must be willing and able to climb to levels above the shop floor, or use a man-lift, as needed to make repairs.

• Position requires repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking. Must be able to lift parts and tools weighing 20 pounds, on average, and occasionally weighing up to 80 pounds, with lift assist devices.

• Experience in vibration analysis or laser interferometer operations, precision alignments, and maintenance of applicable process equipment.

Job Description:

This New Product Introduction (NPI) team leader role is on the Medium Vee platform team within Large Power Systems Division (LPSD), with responsibilities for NPI and other product improvement initiatives on the engines used in Track-Type Tractor and Drill applications. The role has integrated responsibilities between a system level engineer (L5) and NPI lead to allow the candidate to be the main liaison to the product group. The lead will be responsible to plan and coordinate resources across the organization to meet NPI deliverables, investigate and deliver product improvements for current offerings and maintain a strong trusted relationship with their perspective industry customers.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Manages large NPI projects to ensure they are on time, within budget, and aligned with the product objectives, quality, and strategy.

• Assists in prioritizing NPI projects based on enterprise impact and objectives.

• Assembles the business case for project requests - program OPACC.

• Identifies training needs for NPI team members and initiates NPI-related development opportunities.

• Identifies cost containment opportunities, cost reduction ideas and projects.

• Solves problems by determining the best course of action, within departmental guidelines, from many existing solutions.

• Acts independently to determine the best way to complete job assignments in order to achieve the desired results.

• Creates alignment and visibility to issues through frequent stakeholder updates and alignment sessions.

• Monitors product quality metrics and identified areas of focus for continuous improvement.

• Monitors and reports on key quality measures; sales volume, capital expenditures, and research and development

• Create partnerships with internal customers, which may bridge across two or more work groups in a division.

• Builds strong relationships with other departments, industry associations and outside organizations.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience of 6-9 years in engine or engine component development (design, manufacturing, validation, product support)

• Strong organizational, planning and communication skills are critical as incumbent initiates communication with others outside immediate work group to work on new ideas or to counsel others, etc.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential (desire previous 6 Sigma, CPI, and/or NPI project experience).
