Job Summary
There are multiple intern opportunities available. Positions will be located at our Lincoln Park office in Herndon, VA.
Interns will work alongside experienced Dominion Electrical Equipment personnel providing technical assistance to substation and power station personnel in the installation, maintenance and repair of high-voltage electrical equipment including procurement of materials, spare parts and specific tools. These positions will be introduced to the Electrical Equipment Development Program for view of employment requirements of successfully completing the Development Program.
Interns may assist experienced personnel employee including the following activities including: Substation equipment (transformer, circuit breaker, regulator, CCVT, etc.) testing; Aerial lift testing; Infrared testing; Transformer/circuit breaker oil sample collection and DGA review; Transformer processing; Battery and charger installation and testing.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

- Must be currently enrolled in a 2 year or 4 year degree in Instrumentation Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, Electrical, Electrical & Electronic Engineering Technology, Electromechanical or a similar related degree
- Must have an anticipated graduation date of spring 2025 or later
- Must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher.
- Strongly prefer candidates that desire -hands on- experience vs. -design- experience
- Strongly prefer candidates with good problem solving skills while working with mechanical and/or electrical equipment
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Math and technical/mechanical aptitude required
- Must be able to follow instructions and be a team player
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Time management and organization
- Abilities: test basic and routine types of protective relays; lift up to 50 lbs.; manual dexterity; color vision; hearing; climbing; stooping; standing; bending
- Due to equipment weight limits, individuals in this role have a weight restriction of 290 pounds.
Education Requirements
Must be enrolled at a university/community college pursuing an Bachelors or Associate's degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, Electric Utility Substation & Relay Technology, or other relevant technology/technician degrees
Must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher.

Job Summary
This position provides analytical support to Dominion Energy South Carolina's (DESC's) Electric Transmission Department and other organizational units to include data management, analysis and reporting, and the electronic maintenance of critical backup files. This position will assist with the administration of DESC's obligations under the Open Access Transmission Tariff (OATT), particularly the generator interconnection procedures, and the South Carolina Generator Interconnection Procedure (SCGIP). These duties include interacting with interconnection customers, processing interconnection requests, internal and external reporting and processing payments made to DESC under the OATT and SCGIP.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft applications to include Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, must be detail-oriented and be able to read and analyze contracts, regulatory orders and policies, spreadsheets and other documents for the purpose of developing procedures and processes, and must be able to organize and analyze data such as meter data, coincidental peak and credit information for the purpose of monthly billing statements for all Transmission customers, internal reporting and FERC reporting .

Job Summary
V.C. Summer Nuclear Station located in Jenkinsville, SC is currently seeking highly motivated students for an internship during the summer of 2024 to work in the Electrical/I&C discipline within the Nuclear Design Engineering department.
The Design Engineering intern may be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties related to engineering changes that support the long-term reliability of V.C. Summer Nuclear station:
Develop and revise design documentation, including drawings, calculations, and technical reports
Perform design and licensing basis searches and reviews
Perform walkdowns of plant equipment and components
Provide drawing mark-ups and sketches in support of design development
Project assignments will be made based on completed coursework. Tasks will be mentored by experienced engineers.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Experience with Microsoft Office products is desired.
Must be able to follow instructions and be a team player.
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Education Requirements
Must be a student studying Engineering at an ABET accredited 4-year college or university (Electrical preferred)
Must be a rising sophomore or junior with anticipated graduation date of no sooner than December 2025.

Job Summary

Job Summary
The successful candidate intern in this position will be involved throughout their time at the station in improving safety, environmental and cyber compliance, and reliability. Past intern projects have included updating drawings, creating and giving training on new systems to plant operators, programming and implementing power output (load) forecasting spreadsheets and tools, collecting vibration data, analyzing operating data and providing improvement recommendations, generating document repository databases, providing rotating equipment balancing recommendations, and indirectly supervising contract labor.

The Offshore Wind team is looking for an Engineering intern for the summer of 2024. The position will be based out of our Richmond, VA office but will work on our Offshore Wind Project.
Provide technical input, in the discipline of mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, or controls engineering, through various phases of project construction and execution.
Candidate may be involved in scope document creation based off of input provided by supervisor or technical leads. Job Summary
A successful candidate will be joining the Electric Distribution Grid Planning team. This role will be selected as Engineer II or III in the Engineer series based on years of directly related experience and other qualifications. Successful incumbent will be able to perform difficult, complex, and time sensitive electric distribution planning tasks and analysis utilizing modeling software Synergi in a fast-paced environment requiring sense of urgency, innovative thinking, ability to prioritize work, complete multiple engineering requests simultaneously, and knowledge of electric distribution Design, Planning, Reliability, Standards, Operations, Substation and/or Transmission engineering. Dominion's Power Generation (PG) Business Unit seeks an NDE (non-destructive examination) Technical Specialist III to oversee and manage the non-nuclear power station fleet-wide NDE Program, ensuring appropriate and accurate NDE inspection plus quality control performed by Dominion or Contractor personnel.
This position will be located at Dominion's Canal Place facility in downtown Richmond, VA and is the top progression level in the Engineering Technical Specialist series. Distinguished from the Engineering Technical Specialist II by the increased complexity in the application of technical and engineering skills and knowledge
The successful candidate will provide the following corporate support in accordance with applicable codes and regulatory requirements:
Technical authority for NDE - provide technical advice to engineering and station personnel;
NDE Standards and Procedures - maintain and update to ensure compliance with Code requirements, along with governance oversight to ensure consistent approach, standards, and performance expectations across the PG fleet;
NDE Corporate Training Program - work with training vendor to maintain the program, coordinates training, and vendor qualifies the designated company NDE personnel (training classes and appropriate re-certification testing);
Vendor and Contract NDE - audit/approve programs and procedures for Dominion PG work, including maintaining a balance of NDE vendor contracts to provide NDE resources for sufficient station and outage support requirements;
New NDE Techniques - proactive assessments of new techniques and regulatory requirements for Dominion applications, and coordinates with vendors to meet those increasing technology demands.
NDE Budget - plan and manage NDE department budget (outage, call outs, training, equipment calibration, etc.), plus provide NDE budgetary assistance to stations as required.

Provide direct supervision of contract NDE personnel as needed, during major outages, including daily assignments, review of examination reports, scheduling, coordinating station support requirements, and review/approve daily contractor timesheets and invoices.

Minimum 8-10 years NDE experience in the fossil-fueled areas of boilers, HRSGs, turbines, and balance of plant equipment;
Specific company held Level III Certification in 3 of the following basic NDE methods - VT, PT, MT, RT, UT, or ET. ASNT Certifications preferred but not required.

More extensively than ever before, the Electric Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution Industry has been exposed to significant technological challenges. Moreover, it is expected that the intensity of this trend will considerably accelerate with time. Subsequently, these challenges will force utilities to incorporate new technologies and utilize novel power equipment for ensuring successful, reliable, and efficient grid operations during ever changing operating conditions, natural events, and external threats.
Dominion Energy's Power Delivery Group is currently constructing a new 17,000 square foot High Voltage Laboratory (HVL), and the associated Technical Support Building (TSB). Both these objects will begin their operation in the middle of 2024. These facilities will be instrumental in improving asset management of power equipment owned by Dominion Energy and its reliability. They will also enable validation of equipment standards and specifications and will enhance the current ability to evaluate equipment hardware, firmware, and software within an energized environment, prior to deploying to the power grid rated up to 500kV. In addition, they will provide necessary support to the evaluation of new model of electrical power equipment, and in addition, will be instrumental in performing root cause analysis of failed transmission and distribution equipment.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist in overseeing all activities taking place in the High Voltage Lab
- Verify the electrical connections before commencing testing.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures to ensure safe operation of the HVL.
- Work with laboratory staff on continuous improvements in the HVL operation.
- Provide guidance to the technical staff and identify for them training needs.
- Develop test plans, procedures, and test schedules while ensuring efficient use of laboratory resources.
- In addition to conforming to national and international test standards, ensure compliance with all relevant federal and state regulations, as well as all required Dominion Energy work safety policies and guidelines.
- Lead the process of achieving ISO 17025 accreditation for the laboratory.
- Develop preventive maintenance programs for the main laboratory test equipment, instrumentation and tools, and in addition coordinate maintenance activities.
- Write quality test reports.
- Lead routine calibrations of test equipment and instrumentation and continuously update the records.
- Take responsibility for software upgrades, both for the test equipment, and for the office.
- Manage inventory of tools, instrumentation, consumables, and test articles, and if required initiate their procurement.

Responsibilities will include a full range of line construction and maintenance work on the electrical distribution systems. This position will involve working with both energized and de-energized electrical systems while troubleshooting, constructing and repairing overhead and underground electrical lines.
