Job Summary

Responsible for coordinating the construction of Distribution substation projects including equipment upgrades, failures, retirements and installation of protective relaying. Responsible for the preparation of project estimates, cost tracking reports, material lists and other related documentation needed in the construction process. Provides detailed project scoping to Engineering and the development of prioritized work schedules. Interfaces with Field Substation Supervisors on scheduling, workforce allocation, material procurement, and obtaining contractor resources as needed. In most cases, associated projects originate through Substation Field Management, Planning, Metering and Reliability.

This position is located in Glen Allen, VA and works a hybrid schedule. Relocation assistance may be provided to the successful candidate.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Required experience : 2-3+ years of experience in project management and/or coordination in distribution/transmission or related area with a preferred Bachelor's (Or 4+ of experience in project management in distribution/transmission or related area with an Associate's; OR 6+ years of experience with a high school / equivalent degree)

*Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Knowledge pertaining to the operation of substation equipment preferred

  • Ability to work and develop rapport with all levels of Engineering and Field staff.

  • Computer skills and program knowledge (SAP, Websis, Excel, Intranet) preferred

  • Team building skills.

Job Summary

This position will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate(s) knowledge, skills, abilities and experience.

This position will be filled either at the entry, mid, or senior level based on the qualifications of the successful candidate. Complexity of assignments, expectations, and responsibilities increase based on level.

  • This customer-oriented role, engineers technical electric distribution solutions by applying principals to account for equipment and labor, and project manages approximately 50-100 projects from inception to completion.

  • Projects include, but are not limited to new construction, maintenance, and relocation of electric distribution facilities.

  • Communicates company policy and procedures, electric service requirements, and project schedules and status to internal and external customers.

  • Designers represent the Company throughout the design process as the assigned point of contact for the customer.

  • Participates in the 2-year electric distribution designer training program and is evaluated through class participation, practical field experiences, and continuous advisory reviews.

  • Inspects project sites, designates facility placement, determines metering requirements, and prepares service agreements and detailed drawings utilizing Arc-FM, Auto-Cad, or other tools as appropriate.

  • Analyzes electrical load data and performs calculations to determine size and location of electric distribution facilities based on engineering standards, existing or proposed easements, Right-of-Way permits and operational needs and requirements.

  • Utilizes work management system to prepare cost estimates based on design of new construction or modification of existing facilities.

  • Coordinates installation/relocation of other utilities (i.e. cable television, phone, etc).

  • Prepares underground agreements, billing authorities, revenue calculations, negotiates and secures Right-of-Way permits, environmental permits, easement agreements and highway/railroad permits.

  • Reconciles construction field adjustments (as-builts) to ensure mapping accuracy in the Geographic Information System (GIS).

  • Identifies safety issues - checks equipment and work area regularly to ensure safety and compliance; identifies hazards and improvements that could prevent safety problems; evaluates impact of decisions and actions on own and others' safety.

  • Assists in storm restoration processes by driving, patrolling, scouting damage locations and digitally obtaining information.

  • Assists in customer issue resolutions and regulatory inquiries.

Job Summary

This position is on the Central Division Operations & Construction crew at the West Broad office. (Work schedule: Four 10-hour shifts weekly).

The successful candidate will be exposed to the many facets of construction, operation and maintenance of the Electrical Distribution System. If you enjoy the variety of challenging work outside of an office and want to develop communication, technical and mechanical abilities, the Groundman position may be an excellent starting point for a career with Dominion Energy. More specifically, the successful candidate will develop skills to prepare themselves for potential advancement in Line-work, Substation, Design or Dispatch areas. As a Groundman, the majority of the work is performed outdoors in all types of weather conditions and is considered "heavy labor." Must be willing and able to work up to 300 hundred hours a year in overtime. Ability to respond within one hour of a call for overtime strongly preferred.

Specific Groundman functions include but are not limited to the following activities:

- Providing tools, materials and supplies to journeyman linemen

- Ensuring safety rules and regulations are observed on the worksite

- Driving trucks and ensuring they are properly stocked and maintained

- Preparing the equipment and worksite for effective completion of assignments

- Operating various types of equipment used in the construction process (diggers, aerial devices, etc.)

  • Perform all other duties, as assigned.

The selected candidate must be 18 years of age at the time of application, must obtain a Class A CDL learner's permit within 1 month of employment and a CDL within 6 months of employment. Due to weight limits on equipment, weight restriction of 290 pounds applies.

The starting pay rate will be $21.77 per hour advancing progressively to $27.43 per hour after one year.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Required Qualifications:

- Valid Drivers' License and 18 years of age

- GED or HS diploma required

- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds on a regular basis

- Ability to carry up to 60 pounds

- Ability to work on ladders and hydraulic lifts

- Ability to be on call and quickly respond for electrical restorations

- Ability to learn how to operate construction equipment and use hand tools

- Computer application aptitude

- Ability to work within a physically demanding work environment

Job Summary

There is one position that will be filled at either the Meteorologist or Senior Meteorologist level, commensurate with the successful candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience.

Dominion Energy is seeking a skilled operational Meteorologist or Senior Meteorologist to assist in the Company's daily short-term energy market participation. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Energy Supply Market Analytics team, with responsibility for conducting research on historical electricity demand and the impacts of weather and customer behavior on wholesale electric markets. In addition, this role will be responsible for providing energy traders and leadership with guidance on forecasted weather events, electricity demand forecasts, and renewable resource (e.g. solar and wind) forecasting and analysis. Additional responsibilities include assisting with the development of system load forecast models and tools, analysis of load forecast performance metrics, and development and support of emergent renewable resource forecasting processes.

General Responsibilities:

- Perform daily load, weather, and renewable resource forecasting processes.

- Analyze numerical weather prediction models and translate forecasted information into daily system needs via short-term load and renewable forecasts.

- Assist with development and implementation of short-term forecasting tools and interfaces.

- Improve methods and procedures for collecting and processing demand, energy, weather, and economic data by analyzing historical and forecasted electric demand, generation, and energy trends and related data.

- Develop hypotheses/strategies to improve short-term forecasting accuracy for load and renewable resources.

- Provide meteorological insight and forecasting support to operational groups and other internal groups, as necessary.

- Assemble historical weather and load reports for regulatory reporting and support federal and state filing activities.

- Assist in the design, analysis, and testing of new demand and renewable forecast products.

- Coordinate project efforts between business units, vendors, market participants, and other stakeholders as appropriate.

- Maintain working knowledge of RTO/ISO business rules and requirements.

Job Summary

  • This customer-oriented role, engineers technical electric distribution solutions by applying principals to account for equipment and labor, and project manages approximately 50-100 projects from inception to completion.

  • Projects include, but are not limited to new construction, maintenance, and relocation of electric distribution facilities.

  • Communicates company policy and procedures, electric service requirements, and project schedules and status to internal and external customers.

  • Designers represent the Company throughout the design process as the assigned point of contact for the customer.

  • Participates in the 2-year electric distribution designer training program and is evaluated through class participation, practical field experiences, and continuous advisory reviews.

  • Inspects project sites, designates facility placement, determines metering requirements, and prepares service agreements and detailed drawings utilizing Arc-FM, Auto-Cad, or other tools as appropriate.

  • Analyzes electrical load data and performs calculations to determine size and location of electric distribution facilities based on engineering standards, existing or proposed easements, Right-of-Way permits and operational needs and requirements.

  • Utilizes work management system to prepare cost estimates based on design of new construction or modification of existing facilities.

  • Coordinates installation/relocation of other utilities (i.e. cable television, phone, etc).

  • Prepares underground agreements, billing authorities, revenue calculations, negotiates and secures Right-of-Way permits, environmental permits, easement agreements and highway/railroad permits.

  • Reconciles construction field adjustments (as-builts) to ensure mapping accuracy in the Geographic Information System (GIS).

  • Identifies safety issues - checks equipment and work area regularly to ensure safety and compliance; identifies hazards and improvements that could prevent safety problems; evaluates impact of decisions and actions on own and others' safety.

  • Assists in storm restoration processes by driving, patrolling, scouting damage locations and digitally obtaining information.

  • Assists in customer issue resolutions and regulatory inquiries.

Job Summary

Dominion Energy is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Scaffold Builder at our North Anna Power Station in Mineral, VA. The successful individual will build and remove scaffolding at the plant as needed.

Sample duties include the following:

  • Work at heights of 40+ feet while wearing a safety harness.

Job Summary

The IT DES & Enterprise team is excited to offer three entry level Business Systems Analysts to join Dominion Energy and participate in a cohort rotation program. This program would initially place new hires into the SAP HR team where they would learn valuable SAP skills, Business Systems Analyst basics, and cross training in technical areas where desired. It also will include a mentorship component with teammates and leadership.

After about nine months, members in the rotation program would have the ability to explore other areas of the IT Business Accounts group to include SAP Finance, Supply Chain, Plant Maintenance, Basis administration/security, ABAP development or other enterprise application support in a functional of more technical role. Job Summary

The Gas Operation Technician position is an entry level position responsible for working with the Gas Operation Technician III level position on the operation, maintenance, and construction of Dominion Energy South Carolina's natural gas system. Duties include: responding to pipeline damages, repairs and replacements to below-ground gas pipelines and fittings, working in conditions where natural gas is present, responding to customer calls/concerns, completing customer meter orders (blocking, unblocking, pulling meters for testing, painting meters, conducting zero use and high bill complaint investigations), performing above ground leak repairs, performing underground line locating, conducting leak survey and atmospheric corrosion surveys, performing valve maintenance work, and conducting odorant checks.

In addition to working with Gas Operation Technician III's, Gas Operation Technician I's will go through the Gas Apprentice Training Program, a three-year program involving training courses and Operational Qualifications (OQ) which includes electronic testing and hands-on testing. Continuous advancement and OQ in the training program are required. The successful candidate should be driven towards graduating the program and the Gas Operation Technician III career.

Job Summary

Position has responsibility for environmental compliance and oversight of Dominion Energy facilities, primarily in South Carolina under the direction of Manager, Oil and Tanks. Position has a focus on federal and state regulations for oil spill prevention and related tank programs. Position will support power generation, power delivery, gas distribution and related facilities. Technical complexity of work is medium to high.

Job duties include:

  • Preparation review, and maintenance of oil spill prevention control and countermeasure (SPCC) plans and facility response plans (FRP). As professional engineer will seal plans when required by regulation;

  • Assessment and review of secondary containment integrity and containment volumes;

  • Periodic walk downs and assessment inspections of supported facilities to verify accuracy of plans and integrity of tanks/equipment;

  • Oversight of aboveground and underground storage tank installations and closures to ensure compliance with regulations;

  • Represent Dominion Energy Environmental Services to Business Segment representatives and management and effectively communicate company positions and associated risks and mitigation options;

  • Follow Dominion Energy environmental policy, guidance, and work practices;

  • Oversight and technical direction of contractors and consultants including preparation of scopes of work, purchase requisitions, and invoice approval;

  • Follows Dominion Energy safety rules and safety performance expectations;

  • Oversight, preparation, and delivery of environmental training, guidance, and work practices;

Position is based in Cayce, SC. Ability for overnight travel up to one week to support sites in Dominion Energy's portfolio may occur. Job Summary

The Delivery Driver Transformer position is located in Cayce, South Carolina. This position provides support to Electric Operation by performing inventory and delivery functions with single and three phase transformers, three-phase pad transformer placement, and oil spill response functions. Delivers materials and equipment between the transformer storage yards and crew quarters. Primary responsibilities include delivering material and equipment daily to crew quarter locations and/or placement at customer sites, daily loading and unloading material and equipment from company and/or vendor trucks using gantry and truck-mounted cranes and forklifts, weekly receiving, handling and inventorying new material and equipment, occasional cutover of transformers (up to 100 kVA pole-mounted units) from 120/240 to 120/208 volts on the secondary winding, and responding to oil spills. Some duties may be performed near primary voltages up to 25kV.

Additional duties include assisting with the testing and inventory functions of rubber goods, equipment, stock material and non-stock material. Functions performed with rubber goods include assisting with routine tests, maintaining inventory levels, and shipping schedules for rubber gloves, blankets, line hose and/or mechanical jumpers. Also assists with breaking down, washing, inspecting, testing, and delivering Extendo Sticks, Shephard Hooks, and Shotgun Sticks.

Also works with recloser maintenance functions including documentation of equipment transfers between inventory and field installation locations, preparation of units for testing, and final stenciling / labeling of reclosers. These functions can occur in the repair facility and occasionally in the field.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, valid driver's license with a good driving history, a Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class A) or the ability to obtain one within six (6) months of hire, the ability to attend and pass crane training certification and basic computer skills. The physical requirements of this job may be strenuous and include heavy lifting up to 75 lbs., bending, stooping, reaching, and the operation of equipment (i.e., forklifts). Must be able to spend most of their working day walking and standing and must be dependable, punctual, have a positive attitude and have the ability to work well in a team environment. Nuclear Protection Services at Surry Power Station in Surry, VA is seeking entry level Nuclear Security Officers.

Security officers at Dominion are responsible for maintaining security at nuclear stations by controlling access, monitoring and testing security and communications systems and ensuring NRC requirements are enforced.

Qualified candidates will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Under the guidance of more experienced staff, nuclear security officers prevent and protect against radiological sabotage as defined by the Design Basis Threat.

  • Security Officers will learn nuclear defense tactics, security policies and procedures, and gain tactical work experience.

  • Officers operate, monitor and program electronic security and communications systems.

Develops on demand reports, dashboards, integrated analytics, KPI reports in the PI System or on other data visualization software. Keeps abreast of changing technologies, updates, and recalls on parts, equipment, or operational changes. Job Summary

Dominion Generation is seeking qualified applicants for Maintenance Operator Trainee positions at Possum Point Power Station.

As a Maintenance Operator Trainee, you will be required to operate and maintain power station equipment. This includes:

  • Inspecting, operating and monitoring equipment used in the production of electricity

  • Performing daily routine operations

  • Isolating/tagging equipment for maintenance

  • Valve operations

  • Making entries into computer-based logbooks

Engineer I

0-2+ years of professional engineering experience. Basic knowledge of engineering concepts, fundamentals and theory and must have the following skills: Oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing). Effective decision-making skills. Computer skills and application of software programs. Analytical and abstract thinking skills. Problem solving skills. Ability to learn to apply engineering theories and concepts to complex problems. Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices. Ability to develop effective planning, project and organization skills. Ability to develop project management skills and to handle multiple tasks. Ability to work within a team environment.

Will consider students who will be graduating in December 2022, from an ABET accredited engineering program.

Engineer II

3 or more years of relevant professional engineering experience is required. Proficient knowledge and application of engineering theories and principles, concepts, and fundamentals. Competency in applying engineering principles, fundamental concepts, practices and procedures requiring some evaluation, originality and/or ingenuity to achieve project objectives. Understands and can apply knowledge of configuration management. Ability to perform engineering calculations using applicable software programs (e.g. Mathlab, Excel, etc.). Planning, organizational and project management skills. Ability to develop and exercise leadership skills. Effective decision-making skills. Effective oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing). Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems. Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices. Equally effective working independently or in a team environment. Ability to process information quickly & effectively manage multiple tasks.

Engineer III

5+ years of professional engineering experience. Plans, directs, and supervises design of major projects or parts of major projects, preparation of specifications, contracts, and work order requests. Provides project supervision and review. Must have the ability to develop a thorough knowledge of the plant operating systems and processes. Will work at times in an industrial environment which can be hot, cold, noisy, and dirty. Will interact with operations and maintenance personnel within the plant and with individuals from various departments elsewhere in the company. Will develop and update budget and cash flows for assigned projects.

All Levels Preferred Experience

  • Power plant and boiler efficiency testing experience

  • Outage management experience

  • Power plant operations and/or maintenance experience

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering

  • Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an ABET accredited engineering program based on the year that the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or

  • Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, or

  • Possess a 4-year degree in Physics, Chemistry, Math or Engineering Technology and a post-graduate engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same engineering discipline is ABET accredited based on the year the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or

  • Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license.

Job Summary

This position, located in Cayce, South Carolina, will assist Dominion Energy South Carolina's (DESC's) Electric Transmission Support group in carrying out its various responsibilities with a primary focus on interconnection of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) and other generation. Other areas include, but are not limited to, administration of DESC's Open Access Transmission Tariff (OATT), wholesale transmission customer service and billing, financial reporting and interfacing with various stakeholders throughout DESC.

Generation Interconnection responsibilities include interfacing with interconnecting generation customers during the application and study processes, while under construction, and during commercial operations. Responsibilities also include managing databases, utilizing and managing online software, collaborating with internal stakeholders throughout the interconnection process, and creating and interpreting contracts, agreements, policies and procedures. The successful candidate will interface extensively with representatives of the interconnecting generators, numerous stakeholders throughout DESC, and lead interconnection site inspections and testing.

Responsibilities also include assisting the Manager - Electric Transmission Support with other duties of the Department to include customer billing, NERC Operator Training, financial reporting, OATT administration, transmission customer service and regulatory compliance with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), North American Electric Reliability Organization (NERC) and the Office of Regulatory Staff (ORS).

- Able to perform as Local Storm Analyst.

- This position must travel for storm restoration purposes.

- Efficiently dispatches first response personnel and repair crews to provide quick and logical response to outages and emergency situations.

- Schedules and manages other non-emergency customer requested work in a timely and cost effective manner to ensure superior customer service.

- Provides accurate and timely information to customers and first line resolution to customer complaints.

- Accurately reports outages to customers' accounts.

- Uses knowledge to approve complex SROL reports.

- Accurately manages Estimated Restoration Times to customers.

- Maintains scheduling, reporting and follow up of the Local Office.

- Provides timely and accurate data for continual Service Reliability improvements.
