Job Summary
The Construction & Maintenance Department is responsible for the construction, maintenance, and operation of the Company's natural gas distribution system.
This position:
- installs natural gas pipe in ditches
- manually digs around various utilities
- pressure tests steel and plastic natural gas lines
- participates in the repair of third-party damage to natural gas lines and various types of gas leaks
- performs location of natural gas lines and facilities
- completes pipe maintenance activities
- installs test charts
- sets up common Department of Transportation approved work sites
- effectively flags traffic
- safely drives a company vehicle
- maintains the vehicle inventory
- Operator Qualifications involve written guidelines and requirements natural gas employees must follow to ensure the safe and responsible operation of natural gas pipelines. Required, annual Operator Qualification testing involves both written and hands-on components to ensure those who perform covered, safety-sensitive tasks on the natural gas system are trained, knowledgeable, and qualified.
This position reports to the Company's South Raleigh Operations Center in Raleigh, North Carolina.
There is one position which will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Trainee-Construction & Maintenance (0 - 6 months experience)
Pipe Layer VI (at least 12 months experience)
Pipe Layer V (at least 18 months experience)
Pipe Layer IV (at least 30 months experience)
Pipe Layer III (at least 42 months experience)*
*highest level an outside applicant can be hired
The factors to be accorded weight in determining the appropriate job level for the applicant are relative knowledge, skills, abilities, efficiency, experience, education and special training with respect to the skills required for the job opening.
- Knowledge and skill with common hand and power tools (i.e. shovel, screwdriver, pipe wrench, drill, reciprocating saw, etc.).
- Ability to be fit tested for self-contained breathing apparatus equipment.
- Ability to adhere to safe working and defensive driving procedures.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for positive customer and contractor interactions are critical.
- Ability to work as a team member within a diverse team.
- Basic computer and internet navigation skills are key.
- Availability for overtime, as needed.
- Availability for natural gas emergency response during the workday, as well as in the evenings and some weekends, when on-call.
- Must be willing and able to meet a 45-minute emergency response time from the geographical center of the Raleigh area. Emergency response time is a critical measure for the Company and candidates are required to consistently meet this requirement, including when on-call.
- Occasional heavy lifting up to 80 lbs. independently.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience:
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Flagger experience and/or certification.
- Bilingual (Spanish) candidates.
Education Requirements
Completion of high school or equivalent (i.e., GED) is required.
Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description
Must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving history.
A valid Commercial Driver's License is strongly preferred OR must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License within 6 months of employment.
Other Working Conditions
This position typically works within a crew structure.
Work is performed primarily outside in varying weather conditions (i.e. cold, heat, rain, etc.).
Position requires travel throughout the service territory with safe parking in a wide variety of situations and driving in construction zones.
Position may encounter agitated/upset customers.

Job Summary

Dominion Energy's Power Delivery Group is seeking a motivated and experienced Engineer to be part of the Electric Transmission Planning Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for working within the PJM Regional Transmission Expansion Planning Process (RTEPP) to assess and develop the long-term transmission expansion plans (LTRTP) to ensure system reliability, to meet future customer demand, to integrate the renewable energy resources needed to achieve Dominion Energy's net zero carbon emissions goal by 2050, and to plan the grid of the future. Primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
Perform power flow analysis in accordance with NERC Reliability Standards, PJM Planning Criteria, and Dominion Energy Electric Transmission Planning Criteria.
Develop and maintain power flow and short circuit planning models, including the development of Model on Demand project files, contingency file updates, facility rating updates, short circuit change files, and facility impedance updates
Work collaboratively with PJM Planning, the Electric Transmission Planning Team, and the Electric Transmission Operations Engineering Teams to perform annual PJM RTEP assessments, generation interconnection and retirement analysis, and develop transmission solutions to address all reliability criteria violations
Participate during competitive FERC Order 1000 open windows by developing innovative and cost-effective transmission solutions using PROMOD software
Develop and sponsor regional transmission projects. This includes developing the project scope, justifying the need, presenting, and discussing the project with internal and external stakeholders, and obtaining all the necessary project approvals from PJM and The State Corporation Commission
Assist in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of computer-based tools for the Electric Transmission Planning Team
Generation Interconnection Studies including knowledge around Invertor Based Resources and DER Integration
Economic and financial understanding of co optimization of long term grid planning using PLEXOS is preferred
Perform other duties as requested or assigned

Perform Dynamic studies to ensure reliable operation of generation plants within the Dominion zone. Perform sensitivity analysis to evaluate future load growth, future generation retirements, and future integration of renewable energy resources. Collaborate as needed with Strategic Studies team on EMT/EMPT work on generation interconnection, load deliverability analysis, and long term planning (particularly with IBR integration).
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Engineer II : 3+ years of significant directly related experience
Engineer III: 5+ years of significant directly related experience (5+ years of research engineering work experience on directly related projects for the electric utility industry. Work on such projects may be accomplished as part of an Engineering PhD program [completed and graduated by December 2024] on its own or in combination with additional research engineering work experience on directly related projects for the electric utility industry)
*Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications; A master's degree can count as one year experience
Knowledge of power system analysis software packages such as PSS\e, PSS MUST, PSS MOD, Power Gem's TARA software, Aspen One-Liner, Transmission Operations Energy Management System (EMS), etc., is preferred
Demonstrated experience in power system modeling (i.e. short circuit, power flow, EMS)
Experience writing scripts, macros, or code to develop tools to automate work processes is preferred
Firm understanding of AC/DC fundamentals, including an understanding of three-phase power systems
In-depth knowledge and understanding of substation components and their functions
Working knowledge of the underlying technology used in used in flexible alternating current transmission systems (FACTS) and high voltage direct transmission (HVDC) equipment is preferred
Understanding of the protection principles and practices for transmission lines, distribution feeders, and major substation equipment
Working knowledge of substation and transmission line one-line diagrams, and relay functional drawings
Ability to work proficiently with Microsoft Office applications
Self-motivator who can work cooperatively in a team environment, but is comfortable independently seeking knowledge and information

Candidate should possess strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices that will enable the successful candidate to progress in an engineering career series. Industry experience STRONGLY preferred.

Serves as the primary contact for all electric distribution, transmission & substation material requests. Dominion Energy Virginia's Electric Transmission departments are seeking motivated, engaged engineers to fill several vacancies within the organization. Electric Transmission is the organization responsible for the long-term planning, engineering, construction, and operations of the high voltage electric grid system operated from 69kV to 500kV. The grid is accountable for transmitting electricity from state of the art solar and wind facilities, integrating those technologies into the energy portfolio, and delivering the power to our many 2.7 million customers including the world's largest cluster of internet data centers. System Protection Engineering has primary responsibilities for the design, modeling, and development of protective relay applications for the grid and substations. If a problem occurs on a transmission line our engineers design protective elements to automatically sectionalize this line and only this line in
Area Planning Engineering : Strong analytical, project management, communication and interpersonal skills with knowledge and understanding of the protection principles and practices for transmission lines, distribution feeders, and major substation equipment to run power flow studies and find solutions to reliability concerns.
Strategic Studies Engineering: Perform stability, sensitivity analysis and power flow studies to ensure reliable operation of generation plants and to evaluate future load growth, future generation retirements, and future integration of renewable energy resources.
System Modeling Engineering: Carry out data mining and data analytics on historical data to validate power system models and load forecasts and comfortable and familiar with creating, maintaining, and using databases and data in the development and maintenance of different models and data files for power flow studies.
Operations Engineering: Perform the modeling of DE's transmission system including network topology, equipment ratings and parameter impedances as well as the maintenance of various operator displays. Coordinate with, and provide technical assistance to, various engineering, operations, and field teams to fully maintain the EMS model. Support the development of tools to improve situational awareness in the operations control room.
Substation and Line Engineering: Responsible for the Creation and maintenance of substation physical electrical, mechanical, and control standard drawings in Cad Drawings. Performing engineering studies in support of substation conceptual scope development, detailed design, and operations. Operations Engineering: Perform the modeling of DE's transmission system including network topology, equipment ratings and parameter impedances as well as the maintenance of various operator displays. Substation and Line Engineering: Responsible for the Creation and maintenance of substation physical electrical, mechanical, and control standard drawings in Cad Drawings. The Construction & Maintenance Department is responsible for the construction, maintenance, and operation of the Company's natural gas distribution system.
This position:
- installs natural gas pipe in ditches
- manually digs around various utilities
- pressure tests steel and plastic natural gas lines
- participates in the repair of third-party damage to natural gas lines and various types of gas leaks
- performs location of natural gas lines and facilities
- completes pipe maintenance activities
- installs test charts
- sets up common Department of Transportation approved work sites
- effectively flags traffic
- safely drives a company vehicle
- maintains the vehicle inventory
- Operator Qualifications involve written guidelines and requirements natural gas employees must follow to ensure the safe and responsible operation of natural gas pipelines. Required, annual Operator Qualification testing involves both written and hands-on components to ensure those who perform covered, safety-sensitive tasks on the natural gas system are trained, knowledgeable, and qualified.
This position reports to the Company's North Durham Operations Center in Durham, North Carolina.

The Business Development Manager participates and leads significant components of generation project development activities. This position installs natural gas pipe in ditches, manually digs around various utilities, and pressure tests steel and plastic natural gas lines. Job Summary
Seeking Health Physics Technicians T1, T2, T3 or fully qualified Health Physics Technician).
Positions will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.
Provide radiological protection to protect the health and safety of the general public and employees from the hazards of radiation through surveys, analyses, sampling and compliance with regulations, standards and procedures. Provide job coverage for radiological concerns during routine and special plant maintenance activities. Perform routine and random radiation surveys (including personnel exposure, equipment contamination, air samples) to assess radiological conditions. Prepare and monitor Radiation Work Permits. Inspect, calibrate and maintain radiological protection instrumentation and sampling equipment. Provide technical expertise and support to all radiological protection program elements. Evaluate regulatory and industry standards for applicability to radiological control activities. Prepare, analyze, survey, package and ship radioactive material and waste. Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
Completion of Health Physics Technician Development Program or equivalent knowledge and experience (generally 3+ years).
Must be able to fulfill duties as directed for Station Emergency Plan to include obtaining and maintaining required ERO/SERO qualifications, participation in ERO/SERO exercises and drills, verifying availability through response to ERO/SERO call in drills
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
T1:
HS Diploma/GED and 0-1 years of related experience
Participates primarily in classroom training learning the basics concepts of radiological protection. Perform frisker source checks and routine decontamination procedures. Collect routine radiological air samples. Issue respiratory protection and Health Physics Instrumentation.
Perform laundry facility duties.
T2:
HS Diploma/GED and 1-2 years of related experience
Perform routine radiological surveys, sampling and analysis to determine radiation hazards. Perform radiological surveys and samples and document results to ensure compliance with established procedures and limits. Perform operability checks, calibration and repair of various health physics instrumentation. Attend formal classroom training sessions and maintain acceptable academic standards. Perform assigned duties in support of the Emergency Response Team. Update and maintain routine personnel exposure records.
T3:
HS Diploma/GED and 2-3 years of related experience
Monitor and control internal external personnel exposure, contamination, radioactive materials and waste. Perform routine and specialized radiological surveys. Provide health physics job coverage for radiological work activities. Install and maintain ventilation units for airborne radioactivity. Monitor and assess internal personnel exposure. Perform deconning of personnel, small tools and contaminated areas.
Health Physics Technician:
HS Diploma/GED and 3+ years of related experience
Completion of Health Physics Technician Development Program or equivalent Navy Nuclear HP program.
Four years of radiological protection working experience of which one year should be related technical training.
Possess a high degree of manual dexterity and ability and should be capable of learning and applying basic skills.
Commercial nuclear experience preferred. Navy Nuclear Engineering Laboratory Technician (ELT) experience is also highly desirable.
NRRPT certification is highly preferred. The selected candidate will be required to obtain this license if they do not already possess it.
Must successfully pass the EEI Technician (TECH) aptitude test, administered on site during the pre-employment process.
Must be able to obtain and maintain and be a member of the site Emergency Response Organization.

Job Summary
Dominion Energy Ohio is looking for a Gas Projects Manager to join our team in Akron, OH. This role provides management, planning, and direction for Gas Delivery projects and/or programs in distribution construction and maintenance, may include cost and resource management, sales functions, installation, technical, construction or engineering leadership. Projects typically consist of proactive replacement of aging infrastructure within the Pipeline Infrastructure Replacement (PIR) program and may supports past construction projects.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Prepare and submit bid and proposals
Ensures effective engineering design of projects and adherence to company policy and engineering standards, safe work practices and compliance.
Monitor contractor or subcontractor management and review bid project
Responsible for communication with internal and external customers.
Providing overall direction and management of key pipeline construction or maintenance projects.
Managing total project lifecycle from conception to final completion, including project scope, budget, status updates and deliverables.
Defining and managing project resource requirements.
Communicating with internal/external customers to obtain and address, requirements and expectations for projects.
Performing preliminary estimates for the customer.
Providing direction and oversight to scoping teams to determine constructability, cost effective, and efficient solutions to meet customer (internal or external) needs.
Providing oversight for and ensuring effective engineering designs of projects, including adherence to company SOPs, engineering/construction processes, proper pipeline material determination/selection, pressure testing, Horizontal Direction Drilling, Auger Boring, Bridge installations and applicable industry standards.
Reviewing and approving project expenditures.
Providing oversight, monitoring and managing construction contractors and subcontractors ensuring projects meet required scope, schedule, and budget.
Ensuring coordination between project functional groups, including, but not limited to Design, Construction, Operations and Planning.
Ensuring completion of proper project documentation/reporting.
Leading correspondence and compliance with Dominion Energy Supply Chain Management processes for external vendor/contractor bids.
Supporting closeout and post-construction activities. Ensuring project closings are done in a timely fashion in accordance with Company policy.
Ensuring project billing is completed and contractor invoices are submitted accurately and completely for payment.
Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
