The Security Governance & Risk (SG&R) Analytics team is responsible for compiling, computing, managing, and presenting data in a meaningful and consistent manner as it relates to Security Programs. Our team performs full stack data analytics including API calls/SSIS packages to acquire data, aggregate and verify, and present to stakeholders as actionable data sets in readable formats.
The responsibilities of this Summer Associate will consist of leveraging advanced security and asset toolsets and automation principles to design new, and enhance current, architecture as it relates to Information Security.
The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2024 and ending in August 2024. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2024 or later.
Responsibilities
Assess the data aggregation to identify best practices, shifting trends, and areas of opportunity for the organization
Become integrated into and participate in the day-to-day strategy, analysis, and operations of the team
Develop recommendations for strategic initiatives or program changes that the Security organization could/should pursue based on findings, support recommendations with data and empirical evidence, and develop a roadmap or action plan as applicable
Review and advise on policy verbiage and security control implementation
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a graduate degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Applied Analytics, Data Science, or other related degree
Experience with research, analysis, and data manipulation
Experience using data and tools including Axonius, Tenable, Splunk
Good communication and presentation skills
Comfort working with large datasets and telling stories with data
Ability to work independently and think outside of the box
Strong strategic, critical, and analytical thinking skills
Experience with NIST, FedRAMP, and other frameworks

The Enterprise Business Intelligence & Delivery team is dedicated to developing and deploying data and analytics capabilities enterprise wide, including the democratization of data, to drive an in-depth understanding of our members behaviors, trends and needs.
The Summer Associate will work in a flexible hybrid manner and report to leadership at our Vienna, VA campus. Responsibilities will include analyzing data and competitive trends to identify areas of opportunity then create recommendations and influence decision makers. Areas of focus may include creating personalized experiences through segmentation, evaluating FinTech landscape, optimizing forecasts and developing a greater understanding of how engagement is adapting, among other things. It will be essential for the team member in this position be a strong data storyteller, be a quick learner to understand the evolving member strategy and be able to connect the details in the data to the bigger picture business trends to identify data-driven recommendations that produce results.
This role will be a member of the Business Intelligence & Delivery team - a diverse group of analysts looking to enable and support members overall financial well-being. The EBID team has a wealth of expertise in Business Intelligence, Business Systems, and Analytical Research. We apply these skills daily as we represent the Member Strategy Office on various reporting initiatives, deep-dive analyses, and support executive leadership in the execution of the strategic direction and roadmap.

Contact Center needs to continuously evolve in order to maximize efficiencies, take advantage of technology, and improve processes to ensure an optimal member and team member experience.
Contact Center Member Service Representatives (MSRs) and supporting personnel provide exceptional member service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. MSRs utilize communication channels to include phone, email, and chat, providing expert guidance on various types of loans and product applications, as well as providing members peace of mind and account protection when they experience fraud.
This role will be a member of the Contact Center Change Management team. The CC Change Management team is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing change strategy and execution. In addition, this team influences Contact Center acceptance and adoption of people, processes, and technology solutions to achieve desired change outcomes. The Summer Associate will work in a hybrid manner and report to leadership at our Vienna, VA campus.
Areas of focus may include communications, stakeholder engagement, change impact analysis, and program management (e.g., owning and leading change for Contact Center leaders), among other things. Overview

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include analyzing processes and procedures to identify areas of opportunity, then creating recommendations and influencing decision-makers. It will be essential for the team member in this position to be inquisitive and a quick learner to understand the evolving product strategy and be able to connect processes/procedures to the bigger picture business trends to identify data-driven recommendations that produce results.
Potential projects:
Operational support and task processing - the Savings Products Operations teams handle member requests and product/service maintenance needs that range from basic to highly complex and time-consuming. Through a combination of job shadowing and task processing, our goal is to identify opportunities to create increased process efficiencies and automated solutions to improve response times and provide more personalized deposit account interactions with our members.
Special Project Support - may include the need for resources for business requirements development, process mapping, operational risk assessment and monitoring, forms creation and/or management, including disclosure drafting and compliance review and partnership with our training support partners.

Overview
The purpose of the Enterprise Mail Processing Summer Associate internship is to prepare interns for a potential full-time role at Navy Federal Credit Union. Overview
The Cyber Advanced Analysis Team (CAAT) in Navy Federal's Information Security Division's Automation and Special Projects group identifies, tracks and mitigates cyber threats to Navy Federal Credit Union Members. Systemic and persistent threats to Navy Federal Members include but are not limited to fraud schemes and identity theft. CAAT collaborates with additional teams across Navy Federal to innovate and automate protections against these threats.

Overview
The Security Governance & Risk (SG&R) Analytics team is responsible for compiling, computing, managing, and presenting data in a meaningful and consistent manner as it relates to Security Programs. Responsibilities
Assess the data aggregation to identify best practices, shifting trends, and areas of opportunity for the organization
Become integrated into and participate in the day-to-day strategy, analysis, and operations of the team
Develop recommendations for strategic initiatives or program changes that the Security organization could/should pursue based on findings, support recommendations with data and empirical evidence, and develop a roadmap or action plan as applicable
Review and advise on policy verbiage and security control implementation
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a graduate degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Applied Analytics, Data Science, or other related degree
Experience with research, analysis, and data manipulation
Experience using data and tools including Axonius, Tenable, Splunk

Overview
The Employee Productivity and Collaboration Services team ensures that Navy Federal Credit Union has the tools they need to be productive and collaborate any place, any time, anywhere. That means identifying applications for onboarding, providing communication and training for using them, assisting with access or help, managing app changes or releases, and overseeing performance and support. We work with various Information Services Department teams who help us behind the scenes to deliver this functionality to the organization.
Candidates should have experience reviewing and visualizing large data sets. From this raw data, the candidate should be able to provide root cause analysis and identify key user trends. Considering this data, they can recommend and provide solutions to meet key business objectives. Our Summer Associate will identify training and learning opportunities based on support requests to improve internal processes. They will leverage ServiceNow and Microsoft 365 (M365) applications to see trends and make recommendations to improve operations.
Potential projects include analyzing data and trends to identify areas of improvement and opportunity and then providing recommendations on ways to influence decision-makers. Users can manage many elements of M365; however, users request assistance from the Employee Productivity and Collaboration Services team to support these efforts. Our Summer Associate will improve these internal processes with our customers. The candidate will dedicate their time to reducing ServiceNow submissions with end-user education. Areas of focus include data analysis, process improvement, and end-user education.

Responsibilities
The Summer Associate Graduate Intern will work in a flexible hybrid manner and report to leadership at our Pensacola, FL campus. During this internship, the candidate will determine how, who, and what should be educated regarding M365-related MyIT submissions to empower users to explore self-service.
The candidate will:
Review customer ticket submission data from ServiceNow
Determine the appropriateness of ticket validity and accuracy
Quantify how many incidents are -true- incidents and which could be catalog requests or self-service instead
Determine trends in submission
Identify areas of confusion for users
Interview team members and customers for recommendations and ideas
Provide recommendations to improve request and incident submission that focus on user experience
Enact at least one of their training or change management recommendations
Establish a way to measure success and long-term impact
Present data to the team and executive leadership
Qualifications
Required skills:
Currently pursuing a master's degree in Instructional Design, Marketing, or other related field
Experience with research, analysis, and data manipulation
Proficiency with data visualization
Practice working and learning in a virtual or hybrid environment
