L3Harris has an opening in the business development and capture organization within the Seabed Systems (SBS) site located in Santa Barbara CA. This L3Harris site has been known as MariPro and has been in business since the early 1960s first as part of General Motors then SAIC, Nautronix, L3 and now part of L3Harris..
SBS - MariPro is a vertically integrated supplier of long life (20+ years) deep ocean, undersea cabled sensor and communication -turnkey- systems for the US and foreign Navies, commercial, academic, and scientific customers.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior company leaders to capture both follow on and new business in the exciting and growing undersea cabled system market space for SBS-MariPro and other L3H organizations. SBS - MariPro provides systems solutions and programs vs. being just a product supplier. The successful candidate will work closely with the Santa Barbara based SBS - MariPro team to understand customer needs and requirements and identify opportunities meeting SBS skill sets. This will include working with local technologists/SMEs to develop capture strategies and plans to capture both follow on and new business. The successful candidate will support proposal development and business capture working with engineering, finance and manufacturing organizations on proposal efforts including developing and participating corporate reviews and customer engagements. SBS - MariPro is a lean, efficient organization and the successful candidate will need to be flexible and willing to wear multiple hats as needed to support the organization.
This position is 100% on-site.
Essential Functions:
Develop and execute an effective plan and strategy to increase orders, bookings, and new program captures.
Develop and reinforce strong relationships with current and potential new customers to facilitate programs of record and new business opportunities, both domestic and international.
Develop bid & win strategies and PTW (price-to-win) for selected domestic and international pursuits.
Develop business forecasts for customers, markets, and products.
Assess customer influence principals within customer organizations.
Clearly and credibly articulate the voice of the customer back to the business.
Coordinate and manage new business capture through the business development cycle from planning, targeting, and gathering information through proposing and eventual closure of the capture.
Evaluate market and competitive conditions and develop competitive assessments.
Determine current demand for products and services for both the company and competitors including future product feature-set direction & roadmaps.
With sufficient L3Harris capability knowledge and experience, articulate compelling systems solutions to peers, partners and potential customers to develop potential new business opportunities.
Provides a voice of the customer back to the business.
Actively participate in regularly scheduled BD meetings including reporting and documentation to leadership.
Provide backup for site BD to support internal and external deliverables.
Travel as necessary, both internationally and domestically, to support opportunity identification, pursuit, and capture efforts. Generate briefing materials as they pertain to customer interest/need. Present briefings at customer or L3H locations as needed.
Manage large, complex projects and capture efforts of substantial strategic importance to the organization with minimal oversight.

As a Manufacturing Assembly B (Intermediate Level) you will be responsible for contributing to the success of our Sensors Division performing production tasks for a wide variety of Dewar assemblies which may include skilled hand work and or utilizing automated production equipment. As a Semiconductor Process Engineer, you will support a variety of wafer fabrication tools and processes, perform data analysis for development and production work, identify process issues and process optimization opportunities, perform root cause analysis and drive mitigation strategies, perform qualification activities for new processes and tools, and provide sustaining engineering support in a manufacturing area. Create and routinely monitor statistical process control (SPC) for production processes; identify process drifts and catch potential excursions
Document out of control action plans (OCAPs) for processes failing SPC limits
Identify process and/or equipment issues; Lead investigation efforts for issues related to wafer processes
Recommend improvements for efficiency, cost, reliability and quality of existing products; Work with related engineering teams to drive, test, and implement approved plans
Perform on-the-job training for incoming new hires as the team grows

Qualifications:

Essential Functions:
Perform a variety of duties, some complex in nature, to assemble, mount, and test development and production space propulsion systems, components, and rigs.
Under direction of supervision or higher grade mechanic, work from procedures, drawings/prints, work instructions and specifications while interfacing with engineering to meet balancing, assembling, mounting, and testing requirements on new or development hardware. Assist in the cleaning, assembly, setup and pressure testing of components, rigs and facilities.
Where method of work is specified, follow established procedures/work instructions or work with higher grade mechanic to operate and maintain various support equipment, making simple modifications as required. Including maintenance and repair of test facility valves, vacuum pumps, and high pressure piping systems.
Regularly work with mechanics hand tools and specialty tools on light to medium weight parts. Occasionally work in an awkward or strained position using manual or mechanically assisted devises.
Work with methods and operations engineers to assist in devising and developing improved tooling and process changes in both the assembly and test processes. Occasionally participate in investigations by analyzing data, diagnosing problems and recommending solutions.
Audit records, analyze and compute data and maintain logs to assure compliance to departmental procedures and customer requirements.
Comply with Federal & State Environmental and Safety regulations, as well as conform to Company guidelines and procedures for operation of both test facilities and space propulsion systems in assembly areas.
Perform other related work of a comparable or lower skill level as required or directed by higher-grade mechanic/supervision in support of department objectives.

Providing assistance in the handling and distribution of liquids, steam, cryogenics and high pressure gases.
