Customer and Mission: Serco has engineering and program management contracts supporting the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Support for this OSD customer will involve providing regional and global planning/exercise support to maximize strategic alignment of OSD and Defense Agency capabilities against the needs of the current operating environment in planning, exercises, doctrine, strategy, and opportunity analysis for the Agency, Combatant Commands (CCMD), and other DoD components, in coordination with interagency and international partners, while enhancing mission readiness through collective staff training.

Team and Management Information: You will be part of a team responsible for highly consequential engagements with stakeholders impacting national security and the defense capabilities of the United States. You will collaborate closely with customers and other Serco teams to deliver quality solutions recognized by DoD and industry as outstanding contributions in engineering program and risk management across the Defense enterprise.

In this position you will:

• Participate in the planning, and implementation of conferences, workshops, meetings, and forums whether in-person or virtual.

• Coordinate all aspects desired meetings in accordance with internal or external customer specifications.

• Assist in selecting and negotiating use of appropriate classified and unclassified venues.

• Manage logistical arrangements including as required, including transportation, presentation materials, agendas, biographic materials, and hand-outs.

• Coordinate speakers and VIP/guest participation and handle correspondence on all aspects to ensure successful

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• DoD Secret Level Security Clearance

• 3-5 years of experience related to the job description listed above.

• Must have a Bachelor's degree or additional equivalent work experience or Military Service may be substituted in lieu of Bachelor's degree.

Qualifications

• Inspect ship during construction to ensure ship specifications and requirements are being met. If not you will document and report the deficiency

• Develop and recommend solutions to Navy to correct engineering issues and processes to improve ship construction efforts in terms of cost, schedule and quality.

• Investigate areas of production concern, report findings and help develop solutions to help ship return to plan.

• Track and monitor installation of equipment and incorporation of changes

• Provide information and help develop reports for the program.

Qualifications

This position is contingent upon your ability to obtain and maintain an Interim DoD Secret level clearance post-employment.

Our team is led by a Program Manager and Deputy Program Manager, each having decades of experience working in the DoD and Shipbuilding Industry. Our Amphibious Warfare Operation provides critical services to nearly all U.S. Navy amphibious ships and craft.

Serco supports the U.S. Navy as a prime contractor providing amphibious warfare and expeditionary professional support services. We are committed to providing the U.S. Navy with the engineering and subject matter expertise to face all challenges, and welcome those with dedication, talent, and skill sets to join the Serco Amphibious Warfare Team.

You will work closely with Government and industry professionals as well as shipbuilders and other support personnel. Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact towards our military defense and safety of our sailors and marines.

In this role, you will:

Support the Test Division in test services including Ship Self-Defense System (SSDS) SPQ14 Display installation, light off, software installation, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance/repair, integration repair, integration, engineering, and technical support for ships at the building yard. Support may include:

• Provide on-site test engineering and technical support for ship industrial testing.

• Establish and maintain an effective liaison with Supervisor of Shipbuilding and with other Navy, Government, and Contractor activities as required.

• Participation in at sea testing is required of all test personnel. Underway Trials and travel support of Post Delivery Availabilities and Testing at other locations such as Norfolk VA, San Diego CA, Mayport FL, Pearl Harbor HI and Sasebo Japan will be required.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A High-school Degree/GED and 7 years of relevant experience with Ship Self-Defense System (SSDS) SPQ14 Display troubleshooting, repairing, and testing of associated equipment and systems. Individuals with college degrees or technical school or military certifications will be considered.

• Must be able to obtain an Interim DoD Secret clearance post-employment.

• United States (U.S.) citizenship.

• Ability to operate personal computers and have good knowledge and operational abilities with Microsoft Office tools.

• Ability to support activities in a shipyard or naval facility. Some work may occur within an industrial field office, outdoors and/or aboard ship while the ship is undergoing construction, alteration, activation, overhaul, repair, and/or underway trials. Walking and climbing throughout the ship, to accomplish ship checks, may be required. Exposure to high noise levels, uncomfortable temperatures, heights, or other industrial safety conditions will require use of personal protective clothing and equipment.

• Relevant U.S. Navy or U.S. Coast Guard experience in the areas of ship construction or ship repair is desired. Amphibious warship ship and/or craft construction or ship repair work experience is ideal.

This Buyer position is a challenging, exciting position working as part of a dynamic Serco team developing RFQs for products and services of a higher complexity and single/ sole source requirements, evaluating source justifications, evaluating bids and documents awards, negotiating Purchase order terms, engage suppliers in best value negotiations, award Purchase Orders and monitor supplier compliance with purchase order terms, resolve performance issues, and routinely provide ad hoc guidance to more junior staff including providing formal training.

The Buyer will work on a team of 8 buyers that work at other locations across the United States. This position will work in the office in Chesapeake, VA with flexibility to work remotely 3 days a week.

In this role, you will:

• Purchases parts, equipment, and materials by preparing request for quotations. Issues purchase orders and agreements that accurately reflect price, schedule, terms, and conditions as negotiated with suppliers with limited supervision. Ensures timely acquisitions of products or services from known sources of supply. Negotiate and source procurements of moderate risk and complexity. In this role you will have the opportunity to negotiate and source procurements of moderate value, risk and complexity. Perform negotiations with key suppliers regarding costs, terms, and delivery schedule.

• Providing inputs into procurement decisions including award evaluation criteria, subcontract type, supplier selection, procurement process lead times, and procurement planning.

• Evaluates bids for standard and non-standard items and determines successful bidders based on price. Develops alternate sources of supply by identifying and researching prospective suppliers. Evaluates suppliers as to production capability, performance, delivery, and other key business criteria. Perform negotiations with key suppliers regarding costs, terms, and delivery schedule.

• Advises appropriate personnel of impending supplier failure to fulfil contractual agreements that may delay production or delivery. Resolves shipment quantity discrepancies and facilitates the resolution of issues by arranging and participating in conferences between suppliers and company personnel. . Able to lead supplier issue resolution, including settlement of damage claims. Assessing supplier responses to corrective action requests.

• Able to lead process improvement initiatives and assists Supply Chain planning strategies.

• Understands and complies with Serco Procurement policies and procedures. Possess a thorough understanding of federal, state, and aerospace industry regulations. Ensures compliance with all applicable requirements under limited supervision. Supporting and following government purchasing regulations and assuring compliance with all internal requirements. Documenting purchase orders to comply with company policies and procedures.

• Responsible for commodities or assignments requiring application of advanced purchasing principles and concepts. Responsible for procuring major and critical production commodities and materials. Able to recommend and execute techniques for evaluating offerors based on factors in addition to price.

• Identifies and recommends suppliers by investigating potential suppliers, researching parts, equipment, machinery, services, and materials availability. Ensuring all communications regarding procurement status are generated, presented and distributed to appropriate personnel.

• Supporting internal, customer, and external compliance audits.

Qualifications

• Other reasonable and normal duties associated with the Proposal Coordinator position, as directed by the Proposal Manager

• Establish the conference call for daily tag-ups, take roll call, and manage the action item register

• Manage data calls.

The Employment Resource Coordinator (ERC) supports veteran, National Guard, and Reserve Service members and their spouses' civilian employment through education and support services. The ERC will support the Off-Base Transition Training (OBTT) program efforts by assisting with Memoranda of Agreements and coordination of Brick and Mortar (B/M) employment workshops at select locations other than active military installations.

In this role, you will:

• May coordinate virtual workshops.

• A high level of coordination in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.

• Must be able to listen to OBTT participants and assist them in identifying and prioritizing their needs.

• Provides screening and referral services and identify and utilize a network of local, regional, and state resources for employment and employment readiness.

• Serve as the point of contact for activities in their assigned area of responsibility for all stakeholders, including those from the Department of Veterans' Affairs, Department of Defense, Department of Labor, State Adjutant General offices, American Job Centers, DOL VETS State Directors, and more.

• Provide technical expertise in the implementation or evaluation of USAFCENT access entry control operations and assist with the protection of property from the dangers of sabotage, espionage, and intrusion.

• Receive technical guidance from supervisor or higher-level technician, and your work will be reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.

• Follow blueprints, guidelines, and/or diagrams to fabricate and assemble various electromechanical and electronic assemblies.

• Perform work with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within field under general supervision.

• Rely on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and you will typically report to a supervisor.

• Work onboard U.S. Naval Ships and military installations in an area that is somewhat uncomfortable due to drafts, noise, temperature variation and the like and with equipment.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A High School Diploma or GED and 2-4 years of Shipboard experience installing electronic equipment, ducts, cableways, cables, lagging.

• An OSHA 10 certification or able to obtain the certification.

• Ability to use power tools, assembling both large scale and intricate mechanical assemblies.

• Ability to work with blueprints, assembly drawings and sketches in completing a wide variety of assembly and subassembly tasks.

• Experience in the fabrication and precision assembly of various mechanical assemblies.

• Applicant must be able to get respirator qualified and wear proper PPE throughout their work shift.

• Applicant must be willing to work second shift and willing to work more than 40 hours work weeks.

• Ability to work in high heat spaces, climb shipyard dry dock stairs/ladders, work in kneeling position for layout of cable runs under false decking, lift 50 pounds with 80% of work requiring carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 40 pounds for majority of shift while being in a standing, crouching, or walking position.
