We are seeking a recognized IT cybersecurity technical specialist as a Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team and support NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center under the Ground Systems & Mission Operations (GSMO-3) Contract. The specialist will join a multi-disciplined, integrated team of system administrators, network engineers, and IT security professionals.
The specialist will be a cybersecurity engineer, working with a team to maintain, establish, and operate a complete IT security program, including compliance, continuous monitoring, and system design. The specialist will advise the Information System Security Officer in ensuring technical controls reduce risk to an acceptable level and ensuring appropriate system confidentiality, integrity, and availability per Federal and NASA requirements.
The specialist must have strong technical skills, assisting engineers in security control implementation, assessing security controls, security monitoring, mitigating vulnerabilities, managing role-based access controls, reviewing security configuration, and generally ensuring NASA ground systems are appropriately protected.
They will investigate IT Security incidents and work with the Incident Response Team (IRT) for system forensics, diagnostics and/or malware tracking. The specialist will also work closely with the NASA Cybersecurity and Privacy Division (CSPD) to mitigate risks and respond to vulnerabilities and incidents.
Additional Responsibilities:
Serve as a principal Information System Security Engineer for mission operations systems.
Create Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) and Configuration Management documentation.
Advise, implement, and monitor networks, computing, communication devices, and control equipment comply with the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) and other related Federal, NIST, DHS and NASA security requirements for information technology.
Review Splunk logs and custom Dashboards, creating searches to assist in understanding security state of environment.
Perform end to end risk assessment planning and analysis to required standards.
Perform support activities associated with the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems.
Review results of Tenable Nessus scans and provide guidance to System Administrators for remediating vulnerabilities.
Create fixlets using BigFix for automated security checks and remediation.
Write scripts using Python to automate security tasks. Store scripts and configuration information in Git.
Perform security analysis of AWS accounts and ensure cloud migration activities have built-in security.
Required Education / Experience & Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity or related IT field
5 years of related experience in the IT field covering network/computing operations
In lieu of the educational requirement, 13 total years of related experience is required.
Experience with System Security Plans in the Federal Government
Extensive system admin experience with Windows Server and Linux operating systems
Familiarity or experience with NIST 800-53 Rev 5 for Assessing Security and Privacy Controls in Federal Information Systems and Organizations
Experience securing Linux and Windows operating systems.
Experience securing a variety of technologies including modern, legacy, and custom.
Proven ability to research and problem solve both independently and within a team environment.
Must be able to comprehend and follow complex procedural documentation and guidance.
Perform compliance and risks analysis tasks to systems standards.
Strong interpersonal skills to work directly with client, teammates, business partners, end-users, and other stakeholders to review, validate and implement requirements.

APS-3: Quality Control Inspector I - Maintenance

This role is a part of the APS-03 Program. The U.S. Army's pre-positioned stocks (APS) serve to provide materiel power projection around the globe. These strategically positioned resources augment the Army's strategic airlift and military sealift requirements during contingency operations. Our program ensures that the U.S. Army's stocks are properly maintained and ready to deploy at a moment's notice.
This inspector implements quality control and safety plans to ensure compliance with contract specifications and applicable regulations, verifies all phases of a variety of goods, services or operation for conformity to established quality, health and safety, and other operational standards by performing on-going work for compliance with contractual provisions; ensures all services listed on the performance requirement summary are performed in a satisfactory manner, specifies areas to be inspected (scheduled and unscheduled) and how often inspections will be accomplished, communicates deficiencies to proper persons, maintains Quality Control files, and documents results of all inspections.
The Quality Control Inspector 1 (Maintenance) is responsible for quality control of the maintenance process, as outlined in the Performance Work Statement (PWS), to include all applicable PWS requirements and Army regulations. This encompasses verifying inspections, repairs and services are in accordance with Technical Manual (TM) requirements and specifications, verification of shop level maintenance supply processes are followed (correct parts ordered / parts accountability / unserviceable recoverable and serviceable excess turn-in), records (both paper and electronic system of record) are complete and correct, function and load tests have been completed and passed, and the equipment and supporting records will successfully pass inspection by the government. This inspector participates in final presentation of equipment and documentation to the Government unless directed otherwise by Shop or Quality Management. The QCI 1 will also be responsible to monitor storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials, ensure facility safety compliance and adherence to documented safety processes. Verification techniques and methods consist of but are not limited to visual inspections of equipment, facilities, storage locations and documentation, diagnostic analysis, troubleshooting, vehicle operations, component testing, and utilization of calibrated test equipment.
This inspector champions continuous improvement principles and practices and enforces department and program policies and procedures; will assist in providing statistical data, trend analysis data and current equipment technical data updates to ensure accurate resources are determined in preparation for assigned missions; assists team leads and foremen with coaching and training team members in proper techniques and expected results based on verification inspection trends and observations; provides guidance and recommendations to management, supervisors, leads and employees in regard to meeting quality and safety standards; communicates clearly orally and in writing and works well with all employees and customers to ensure correct information flows consistently.
This inspector will verify the work of Automotive Workers, Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Warehouse Specialists, Material Coordinators, Heavy Equipment Mechanics, and Supply Technicians along with providing support to employees in Equipment Records and Parts Specialist (ERPS) skill sets.
Qualifications:
- Possess a valid State Motor Vehicle Operator License.- Good computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word.- Good oral and written communication skills.- U.S. Citizen.- Must be able to obtain and maintain Common Access Card (CAC) requirements.- Must be able to obtain and maintain local base access.
- Four years directly related work experience with Military Maintenance and/or Logistics and Unit Supply Systems OR certificate of training from vocational school or other recognized source with a major study in automotive maintenance, automotive technology, Logistics, Warehouse Management or other related field and four years directly related private sector work experience.- In lieu of formal course work, a combination of college credits, ASE Certifications, on-the-job training, other formalized training, or experience may be considered.- Basic knowledge of diesel engine and drivetrain fundamentals and electrical troubleshooting.- Must have a demonstrated knowledge of GCSS-Army to include exporting of reports. - Must have a demonstrated knowledge of unit level maintenance supply, to include the recoverable part process, condition codes and turn-in procedures.- Must have knowledge of MMIS (Modification management Information System) and be able to access it to verify reporting of completed safety messages and MWOs.
Work schedule: Monday - Thursday, 6:30am - 5:00pm (OT/weekends as required during ship cycle).
Physical Requirements:

Successful candidates must be able to deal effectively and confidently with customer managers at all levels of responsibility. Desk Officers apply advanced knowledge and expertise of operations, operational tradecraft, and intelligence priorities when providing strategic guidance and operational case management. In addition, they are responsible for program management throughout the customer, from traditional operational activities to specialized initiatives. Minimum Qualifications:

The Special Operations Operational Psychologist shall provide technical expertise, guidance, and direct services in the areas of clinical and operational psychology to SOF. The Special Operations Community Resource Coordinator (CRC), herein referred as Coordinator(s), is responsible for comprehensive and effective coordination, development, and evaluation of programs and services that contribute directly and positively to resiliency of the assigned unit's force and families. Cognitive Performance is an interdisciplinary field spanning kinesiology, psychology, and motor learning and control. The Cognitive Performance Specialist shall train SOF personnel, with the priority on SOF Operators and Direct Combat Support personnel, to develop and use the cognitive skills necessary to perform optimally in training and operations.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Based on evidence-based peer-reviewed literature train and educate SOF personnel, in individual and group settings, in specific cognitive, mental, behavioral, psychosocial, perceptual, learning, adaptive thinking, human engagements, and emotional control skills, strategies - including understanding, acquisition, and retention - performance improvement and maintenance with documentation of work performed, implemented, and provided to SOF personnel.
Assist and advise the HP Program Manager and/or Coordinator in matters relating to mental performance, exercise and sports psychology.
Provide information about mental performance, exercise and sports psychology factors in sports, exercise, and physical activity.
Train and educate on goal-setting , performance profiling, visualization, performance development, and planning.
Participate in periodic meetings to review human performance training provided to patients and identify opportunities for improvement.
Attend and participate in meetings with other POTFF staff members and medical personnel as requested and/or required .
Collaborate with the HP staff to enhance the quality and effectiveness of mental and human performance development and expertise delivered.
Conduct periodic literature reviews to ensure HP stays current with the provision of care.
Support research conducted under supervision of the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator.
Assist the HP Program Manager and/or Coordinator in developing and maintaining practice guidelines to ensure consistency of service across all Human Performance Training Centers ( HPTCs ).

Maintain 100% compliance with local mandatory command training requirements.

Master's degree (Doctoral degree preferred) in Human Performance, Kinesiology, or Exercise Science, and/or Sport Sciences with a specialization in Sport Psychology.
Must have a minimum of 5 years or more of demonstrable accumulated experience (continuous and sustained experience preferred) as a mental performance coach or Sport Psychologist with individual athletes and groups of athletes at the levels of NCAA Division I, Olympic, professional, and/or SOF Operators in the accompanying, respective settings. Paid full-time experience as a Government civilian or contract employee at US Army and/or Marine Corps Infantry Units, may be counted towards minimum qualification requirements, provided this experience was gained within the most recent, continuous 3 years, as a directly embedded staff member, on-site with respective Army and/or Marine Corp entities.
Must be capable to properly lift and manipulate loads or weights up to 25 kilograms and capable of meeting physical demands of training with SOF including the ability to hike over rough terrain, function in austere environments and on various fixed or rotary wing aircraft , waterborne craft, or ground transport to observe SOF training evolutions and to conduct training and education.
Desired Education/Experience/Skills/Training:
Prior military and/or SOF experience is desired.
Certification as a Certified Consultant through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (CC- AASP ) is desired, but not required .
