Job Summary

Independently coordinates with internal and external customers for the design and installation of electric distribution facilities associated with residential subdivision projects.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as single point of contact for customer/Contractor/municipality; perform due diligence to accurately determine project needs and responsible Design Group; prepare or assist with designs and cost estimates, based upon scope of work and schedule constraints; Responsible for coordination of all permits, joint use issues, and easements in timely manner.

  • Provide training as needed for contractor resources to ensure consistency across the system; lead resolution of any quality control issues identified with contractors, third party customers, and/or suppliers; monitor work to ensure compliance with approved quality plans and procedures.

  • Provide electric distribution design support as determined by department supervisor. Duties may include but not be limited to inspection of project sites, organizing site/office meetings, and preparation of detailed drawings utilizing ArcFM, AutoCAD, or other tools as appropriate.

  • Provide -on-call- assistance during emergencies and storm restoration activities; includes travel to any location within Dominion Energy service territory for duration determined by Company. Expected to use electronic damage assessment tools to provide data for restoration analysis and customer communication.

  • Quality control associated with subdivision layout to ensure correct GIS mapping is in place prior to submitting projects to CDG; participation in monthly CDG conference calls.

  • Facilitate joint installations with Joint Use Partners and provide necessary Dominion Design info necessary to successfully complete project; coordinate weekly meetings and preconstruction walk-through.

  • Reconcile construction as-builts to ensure mapping accuracy in GIS.

  • Perform site ready inspections; flagging/staking of cable routes, devices, poles and guy anchors.

  • Coordinate field changes to projects based on field conditions and relay information to appropriate team member or field personnel.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years directly related experience or

  • Associates Degree and 6+ years of directly related experience or

  • High school diploma and 8+ years of directly related experience

  • Military Service Members/Veterans ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6 4+ years directly related experience

  • Directly Related Experience includes : Electric Distribution/Utility design; Construction Management, Technical Design, General Electricity/Electrical experience, Joint Use experience.

Job Summary

This position will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate(s) knowledge, skills, abilities and experience.

This position will be filled either at the entry, mid, or senior level based on the qualifications of the successful candidate.   • This customer-oriented role, engineers technical electric distribution solutions by applying principals to account for equipment and labor, and project manages approximately 50-100 projects from inception to completion.

  • Projects include, but are not limited to new construction, maintenance, and relocation of electric distribution facilities.

  • Communicates company policy and procedures, electric service requirements, and project schedules and status to internal and external customers.

  • Designers represent the Company throughout the design process as the assigned point of contact for the customer.

  • Participates in the 2-year electric distribution designer training program and is evaluated through class participation, practical field experiences, and continuous advisory reviews.

  • Inspects project sites, designates facility placement, determines metering requirements, and prepares service agreements and detailed drawings utilizing Arc-FM, Auto-Cad, or other tools as appropriate.

  • Analyzes electrical load data and performs calculations to determine size and location of electric distribution facilities based on engineering standards, existing or proposed easements, Right-of-Way permits and operational needs and requirements.

  • Utilizes work management system to prepare cost estimates based on design of new construction or modification of existing facilities.

  • Coordinates installation/relocation of other utilities (i.e. cable television, phone, etc).

  • Prepares underground agreements, billing authorities, revenue calculations, negotiates and secures Right-of-Way permits, environmental permits, easement agreements and highway/railroad permits.

  • Reconciles construction field adjustments (as-builts) to ensure mapping accuracy in the Geographic Information System (GIS).

  • Identifies safety issues - checks equipment and work area regularly to ensure safety and compliance; identifies hazards and improvements that could prevent safety problems; evaluates impact of decisions and actions on own and others' safety.

  • Assists in storm restoration processes by driving, patrolling, scouting damage locations and digitally obtaining information.

  • Assists in customer issue resolutions and regulatory inquiries.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform maintenance activities on Mechanical systems and components.

  • Identify abnormal system and component indications and diagnose the probable cause relative to mechanical components.

  • Identify component failure modes (e.g. valve thermal binding and pump failures) and perform the possible diagnostic and repair actions that may be necessary.

Job Summary

This role provides Power Generation station warehousing coordination, materials and inventory management, bill of materials creation processes, and service contractor support. Serves as the site representative for all corporate supply management activities and initiatives. Provides strategic support for assigned Power Generation System or Merchant stations. Ensures station supply chain compliance with all legal, regulatory, and procedural requirements governing supply chain management, to include internal audits, external audits, and associated corrective actions. Monitors materials and procurement activities to ensure fulfillment of business requirements including plant issue resolution, and that systems, processes, procurement support and suppliers meet business requirements, to include performance indicator monitoring. Ensures site material needs are met by understanding critical upcoming planned work activities and tracking priority materials for daily and outage material requirements. Coordinates plans and meets material target delivery dates, collaborating with sourcing teams, expeditors, transportation, and warehousing. Works closely with maintenance to determine if plant equipment is obsolete; provides oversight, to include the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), in the anticipation and disposal of station's hardware and software equipment such as computer, electronics, hardware, digital electrical switchgear etc. and vendor planned support with field service and manufacturing abandonment. Provides in-depth analytical support through various Inventory Optimization techniques, process management, and business intelligence to support consistency, cost management, and operational excellence across power generation sites. Ensures stocking levels are appropriate when considering the operational constraints and risks associated with supply volatility. Responsible for training and providing direction to site personnel on Supply Chain Management (SCM) processes, warehouse safety, and inventory control to include storekeepers and trainees. Provide guidance and support to SCM Site Supervisors, ensuring Supply Chain objectives and processes are met. Provides high-level, backup coverage for departmental reporting. May serve as site representative and site contact for specific service contractors such as HVAC, landscaping, and elevators. Supports station work planning as needed to include establishment of new materials including the development of bills of materials, and stockroom efficiencies. This role will provide supply chain support for multiple sites (Brunswick, Greensville, and Roanoke Rapids/Gaston Power Stations), with travel between the sites required.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform maintenance activities on Mechanical systems and components.

  • Identify abnormal system and component indications and diagnose the probable cause relative to mechanical components.

  • Identify component failure modes (e.g. valve thermal binding and pump failures) and perform the possible diagnostic and repair actions that may be necessary.

  • Perform troubleshooting of defective components.

Job Summary

Job Summary

This position is covered by the collective bargaining agreement between Dominion Energy and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 50.

Pay Rate is $23.31 an hour.

Dominion Energy's Power Generation business unit seeks a highly motivated and qualified individual to fill the position of Power Storekeeper Trainee to support North Anna Power Station.

The successful candidate will handle all materials at the Station.

  • Contact other sites and transportation for handling and transferring material and equipment.

  • Complete required paperwork including HAZMAT handling/placards and chain of custody paperwork.

  • Interact on a daily basis with peers, customers, contractors, truck drivers, couriers, etc.

  • Operate standard forklifts (4,000 lb. - 12,000 lb.) and specialized forklifts - wire guide, narrow aisle.

  • Utilize other material handling equipment - electric and manual pallet jacks, scissor lifts, hand trucks, carts, etc.

  • Safely load and unload various types of trucks - flat beds and box trucks.

  • Safely handle, move, reorganize, repalletize material for its appropriate storage requirements from original packing upon completion of inspection and receipt.

  • Retrieve material from various storage locations for issuance/replace material in various storage locations from returns.

  • Operate various power and hand tools (band saw, drill, screwdriver, hammer, pumps, calipers, etc.).

  • Determine safe method to handle pipe, boiler tube from truck to storage locations by utilization of forklifts, carts, chocks. Includes utilization of band saw and other shop tools to cut material to length.

  • Package, band material for shipment to work areas within site and from facility.

  • Utilize SAP to perform receipt, issue, return, transfer and utility sales transactions per SCM procedures

  • Ensure accuracy of transactions meet SOX compliance requirements.

  • Control Batch managed inventory per procedures, through documenting in SAP and proper physical marking of material.

  • Create notifications for discrepancies with the material during receipt process

  • Ensure appropriate documentation is received with material, such as cert, heat, MSDS, etc.

  • Print labels for material.

  • Utilize SAP to verify non-stock material, create notifications for discrepancies with the material during receipt process

  • Perform cycle count per business unit requirements

  • Manage physical storage of material through storage location and bin location updates in SAP

  • Ability to use SAP to inquire and perform consumption/usage research

  • Investigates computer transactions to resolve inventory discrepancies

  • Maintain housekeeping standards in warehouse.

This position requires a self-starter who can effectively prioritize and who doesn't mind driving and working alone. *This role will be either in Springfield and/or Fairfax offices.

  • The repair and maintenance of both overhead and underground electrical distribution lines

Job Summary

The successful candidate intern in this position will be involved throughout their time at the station in improving safety, environmental and cyber compliance, and reliability. Past intern projects have included updating drawings, creating and giving training on new systems to plant operators, programming and implementing power output (load) forecasting spreadsheets and tools, collecting vibration data, analyzing operating data and providing improvement recommendations, generating document repository databases, providing rotating equipment balancing recommendations, and indirectly supervising contract labor.

Job Summary

This role will be part of the Customer Contact Operations team. The intent is that the student will work full time during the Summer, then have the ability to potentially work part time during the school year. Duties are as follows:

-Manage and advise customers on their electric service accounts including desired service characteristics, equipment, rate application, associated programs and costs;

-Provide improved electric service reliability by responding to customer operational needs;

-Perform billing reconciliation by analyzing, reconciling and resolving customer or company billing disputes and receive guidance and direction as necessary;

-Provide detailed explanation/applications of electric rates to customers;

-Perform account consumption history analysis to assist in resolving electric high bill complaints and to educate customers regarding their electrical usage.

The Field positions will assist with the installation, maintenance and operation of control systems and protective devices. Specific functions will include verification of protective relay panel wiring and logic function verification.

Data communication technology is also learned as smart microprocessor relays provide information to Operating Centers. Cyber Security applications will be learned as well as NERC compliance maintenance regulations. These positions will be introduced to the System Protection Development Program for a view of employment requirements of successfully completing the Development Program.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience- Must be currently enrolled in a 2 year or 4 year degree in Instrumentation Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, Electrical, Electrical & Electronic Engineering Technology, Electromechanical or a similar related degree- Must have an anticipated graduation date of spring 2025 or later- Must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher.- Strongly prefer candidates that desire -hands on- experience vs. -design- experience- Strongly prefer candidates with good problem solving skills while working with mechanical and/or electrical equipment- Experience with Microsoft Office- Math and technical/mechanical aptitude required- Must be able to follow instructions and be a team player- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills- Time management and organization- Abilities: test basic and routine types of protective relays; lift up to 50 lbs.; manual dexterity; color vision; hearing; climbing; stooping; standing; bending- Due to equipment weight limits, individuals in this role have a weight restriction of 290 pounds.

Job Summary

V.C. Summer Nuclear Station located in Jenkinsville, SC is currently seeking highly motivated students for an internship during the summer of 2024 to work in the Electrical/I&C discipline within the Nuclear Design Engineering department.

The Design Engineering intern may be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties related to engineering changes that support the long-term reliability of V.C. Summer Nuclear station:

  • Develop and revise design documentation, including drawings, calculations, and technical reports

  • Perform design and licensing basis searches and reviews

  • Perform walkdowns of plant equipment and components

  • Provide drawing mark-ups and sketches in support of design development

  • Project assignments will be made based on completed coursework. Tasks will be mentored by experienced engineers.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products is desired.

  • Must be able to follow instructions and be a team player.

  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

Education Requirements

Must be a student studying Engineering at an ABET accredited 4-year college or university (Electrical preferred)

Must be a rising sophomore or junior with anticipated graduation date of no sooner than December 2025.

Job Summary

There are multiple intern opportunities available. Positions will be located at our Lincoln Park office in Herndon, VA.

Interns will work alongside experienced Dominion Electrical Equipment personnel providing technical assistance to substation and power station personnel in the installation, maintenance and repair of high-voltage electrical equipment including procurement of materials, spare parts and specific tools. These positions will be introduced to the Electrical Equipment Development Program for view of employment requirements of successfully completing the Development Program.

Interns may assist experienced personnel employee including the following activities including: Substation equipment (transformer, circuit breaker, regulator, CCVT, etc.) testing; Aerial lift testing; Infrared testing; Transformer/circuit breaker oil sample collection and DGA review; Transformer processing; Battery and charger installation and testing.
