Description
This position within Cat Electronics will support the development of embedded software for electronics control systems for diesel engine, battery electric, and fuel cell applications. Areas of responsibility include configuration, integration, build and testing of embedded software on diesel engine systems; testing software for embedded electronic control systems includes requirements development and verification of software in a bench environment as well as troubleshooting software or system defects.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
3 or more years of industry embedded software development or control systems experience
2 or more years of software test experience using hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop equipment & techniques.

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science
Experience with the following: dSPACE, Git, Trace 32 Debugger, CANalyzer, Cat Electronic Technician (ET), CAN/SAE J1939, Matlab, C, and Python

Job summary:
We are looking for a Field Follow Engineer that is motivated to make an impact on the customers and products that they support.
In this role, you will be expected to provide direction as necessary to entry-level marketing positions, Caterpillar Field Reps and Dealer Product Support Personnel. You will be responsible for monitoring the overall performance of products to reduce warranty costs and to meet needs of customers worldwide for a generally smaller or more specific product line in a Division. This means you will need to identify problems, investigate causes, and establish priorities for resolution. It will be critical for you to be able to define problems in terms of observed symptoms, research available data, define applications and conditions encountered, identify root cause, work with dealers and technical staff to identify information needed, issue PIR (Product Improvement Request), develop plans for fixing problem (including validation), and publish the corrective actions.
What you will do:
Travel to commission, troubleshoot, and monitor engines built as early learner, prototype, pilot, or field test units being operated as part of a New Product Introduction (NPI) program
Write detailed trip reports with documentation on findings from each trip to the field
Complete inspections of NPI parts and products in coordination with Platform Engineering, NPI Management Team, and NPI Field Follow Coordinator
Manage Cat Dealer technicians in completing tasks related to Field Follow assets
Document issues in Pre Production Reliability Database (PPRD) and create NPI Issues as needed, participate in issue review meetings to support NPI issue creation
Arrange for return of test parts and/or equipment from field follow units
Communicate issues, resolutions, and requirements to Dealer and Customer
Install telematics equipment and assist in troubleshooting related problems
Assist NPI FF coordinators in writing and marking up service publications for diesel and gas engines
What you must have:
Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant engineering or product support experience OR Associated degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR 8 years of relevant experience.
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to perform complex assignments
Self-starter with strong technical skills and good judgment
Demonstrated superior communication skills including listening, writing, preparing, and delivering presentations to high-level company managers, dealers and customers
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and experience working on mechanical products
Top candidates will also have:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
5+ years of relevant engineering or product support experience
1+ years working with CAT dealers
2+ years large engine experience - especially natural gas engines

This position within the Engine & Power Systems department of Cat Electronics will be responsible for the system integration and development of embedded software and electronics systems for diesel engine, battery electric, and fuel cell applications. The role of engineering specialist is that of a principal contributor of deliverables associated with complex technical engineering problems and application software integration. In addition to demonstrating technical expertise, the person in this position will be required to serve as a project leader, supporting and executing division wide system application solutions, collaborating across multiple teams and process partners. As a result, the successful candidate will be required to periodically provide formal and informal updates to leaders within the organization.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Translate customer requirements, drive commonality, and provide solutions that are applicable across many different applications supporting both LPSD, IPSD engine and E&APSD clients.
Evaluate new requirements and their impact, develop solutions, and plans that support program timing.
Lead collaboration across Machine System Coordinators, Tech Strategists, Engine System Coordinators, Application Leads, ICS process partners, and our clients
Perform technical requirements analysis and manage change request (CRM's) that may impact multiple applications.
Lead division wide projects (some examples may include system solutions, quality, and process improvements)
Own specific system knowledge, application information, and track strategies across applications.
Be a liaison to other teams like Security, ET, Displays, Command, Datalink, Telematics, Regulatory groups to align strategies and implementation with the application team.
Lead the development/architecting of embedded software features in the C programming language and Matlab/Simulink to meet system requirements.
Support areas of CEAL and application software development, including builds to support key areas of the division.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
11+ years of embedded software development experience in engine systems composed of applicable embedded software library development, architecting and management as well as application build and integration.
Ability to work in a team environment, communicating technical information and development progress to team members, process partners and leadership.

Matlab/Simulink experience
Experience with the following tools: Git, Clearcase, Trace 32 Debugger, CANalyzer, Cat ET Service Tool.

What You Will Do:
As the Information Technology Manager (Transportation) within our Logistics Information Services (LIS) team , you will be responsible for staff supervision, portfolio management, and product owner accountability for Domestic Inbound, Prime Product Outbound, and Global Materials Management Transportation IT services supporting Integrated Logistics Services (ILS). Job Summary:

Job Summary: Supplies and services the machining areas including the Screw Machine and Machining South departments with necessary equipment and/or services to minimize production delays. Proceeds on work assignments with a minimum of supervision and/or direction.
Job Duties:
Chip out machines located in the Screw Machine and Machining South departments as necessary.
Collect bar ends, chip hoppers, and scrapped parts hoppers from all manufacturing areas and move to metal scrap area.
