What makes someone choose one company over another? Pay, Benefits, Training, Work Satisfaction, Culture? What if you can have it all! At G2 Ops we have extremely competitive pay and benefits and that is not even the best part. Our culture is what sets us apart from other companies. Here, you will not be another payroll number or a cog in the machine. We provide great value to our customers by working as a team and ensuring every member is set up for success. Our team approach allows for each member to not only provide value with their expertise but also gives them the opportunity to cross train in other areas they have interest in.
Let's talk salary. The salary range for this position based on what we are asking you to do in the role starts at $70,000 and goes up to $90,000, based on qualifications. We'd like to start somewhere in that ballpark and go from there. With company standard annual performance reviews in place, plus on the spot awards for recognition; your performance will be rewarded and recognized, we promise!
So you want to work from home? Let's be honest, remote work is not all it's cut out to be. How do you feel about Telework? Yes! Now there is a happy-medium. At G2 Ops, we offer a flexible schedule with a combination of both in-office and teleworking opportunities. Due to the classification level of the projects we support, we are not able to offer fully remote opportunities at this time. Hear us out. As a Defense Contractor, we are working on and viewing some VERY highly classified material, and therefore, we need to ensure where you access your work is secure. You will have your own new, shiny desk at one of our G2 Ops offices, plus the occasional opportunity to work on-site directly with our customers (this is a good thing!). We do allow teleworking, but only with prior IT Department and manager approval. Here's the thing, we have worked very hard to create an awesome culture where our employees get to come to a collaborative, exciting office environment and we want you to join the fun!
Still not convinced? Allow us to elaborate. We are seeking a skilled IT Systems Administrator to establish and administer classified LAN environments and systems deployed in the cloud. This position will join our San Diego team and report to the IT Manager. The IT Systems Administrator (IT Sys Admin) will be responsible for designing, analyzing, maintaining, and implementing LAN/WAN equipment and networks. You will also develop technical policies and procedures regarding activities of the LAN environments. Additional responsibilities include: monitor and test the plans and backup systems, use and interpret results of SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC), configure and operate systems IAW DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), maintain need-to-know when allocating security attributes, installs, configures, troubleshoots, and maintains server and systems configurations to ensure their confidentiality, integrity, and availability. You get the idea. The short: do you know your networks? Good! Because in this role you will administer server-based systems, security devices, distributed applications, network storage, messaging, and perform systems monitoring and vulnerability scans (ACAS / Nessus) and manage scan results.
To be successful is this role, the selected candidate will have 5-8 years' of experience administering Windows/Linux networks plus a Bachelor of Science in engineering, cybersecurity, networking, or computer science related degree. Must be familiar with server software installation and administration, windows Server 2016 build-out and administration, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) build-out and administration, and backup and disaster recovery.
Let's talk certifications. If you have a Security+ certification or IAT II equivalent, you're good. If you have a Linux Operating System Certification, you're good. If you have any of the following certifications in addition, even better: RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Cisco, Network+, CISSP or CASP, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
Lastly, as we are working for the DOD, we are beholden to some requirements. The ideal candidate would already possess an active DOD SECRET clearance or a Top Secret/SCI Clearance being preferred. Must be TS/SCI eligible to be considered.

Not sure if you are qualified but have some skills? Apply anyway! Remember that cross training we talked about? Even if you possess skillsets such as network and system administration and have always wanted to expand your technical prowess into the Cloud arena, we should still talk.
Congratulations, you made it all the way to the end of this job posting! We look forward to learning more about you!

You are an overachiever if you have any of the following experience: OpenShift, Kubernetes framework, DevOps experience or knowledge of best DevOps practices, specifically regarding deploying containerized applications into Kubernetes development environments, performing container security hardening (Twistlock, etc.), experience with classified DoD cloud environments (C2S, CloudOne, etc.), experience with DoD cybersecurity requirements relating to cloud-enabled software development, understanding of multiple security contexts with AWS, working with Linux and/or Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) in a software development context, modern frontend web development frameworks (preferably React), Apache Kafka, working in an agile development environment, Spring/Spring Boot Java web application frameworks, Flask/Django Python web application frameworks, and Keycloak/OAUTH2.
Next, as we are working for the DOD, we are beholden to some requirements. The ideal candidate would already possess an active DOD Secret Clearance, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI without issue, and a DoD IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+, SSCP).

The salary range for this position based on what we are asking you to do in the role starts at $80,000 and goes up to $190,000, based on qualifications.
For this opportunity, we are seeking a highly motived, team-oriented Cloud Engineer. This exciting position will have the chance to work on just about any aspect there is as it pertains to Cloud Engineering. We are in the early stages of establishing a Cloud Center of Excellence for a DOD client. The work currently encompasses Impact Level 4 and 5 for not only Amazon AWS but also for Microsoft Azure. In parallel to this, we are also establishing an IL6 environment for both Cloud Service Providers (CSP). There are even future plans for other CSP's, such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Our team is responsible for maintaining these environments and ensuring the security aspects are within DOD regulations, but the fun doesn't stop there. We also work with Mission Owners (MO) who have an IT footprint that would like to migrate into the Cloud. We meet with them, discuss their requirements, and devise a plan of action to migrate them into the Cloud. This will happen in various ways. Some MO will just be provided a secured Cloud environment and they do the work, all the way to where they have nothing figured out and we will design, architect, build, secure and maintain their entire Cloud environment.
What does this mean to you? We have a need for all of the usual suspects as it pertains to Cloud IT. Transformational technologies such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure, as well as all the supporting software including Terraform, Ansible, Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, F5 BigIP and BigIQ, VIP's, VPC's, , Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft Azure. Multiprotocol networks leveraging SSL, DNS, HTTP, RDP, etc. Virtualization technologies such as Citrix, VMware, vSphere, Horizon. Don't worry, we didn't forget about their data. We also leverage container technologies and services such as Kubernetes, Docker, S3, CloudFront, and Amazon EBS. You get the picture. If Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure offers it, we provide it. This also includes IT DevOps, DevSecOps, IaaS, PaaS, Identity Access Management (IAM), Infrastructure as a Code (IaC), Patch Management, Secure Monitoring and Compliance. While you may only know some of these technologies, you will have ample opportunities to learn the rest!
Lastly, as we are working for the DOD, we are beholden to some requirements. The ideal candidate would already possess an active DOD SECRET clearance and an IAT Level II certification, as well as an AWS or Azure certification.
You now know we are offering signing bonuses for qualified candidates for this position.
