As a Quality Specialist at Caterpillar Inc., you will perform a variety of inspection functions to check the quality and accuracy of in-process parts, assemblies, materials, prime products and gages released to production. You will be responsible for analyzing special problems arising from faulty methods, defective materials, assembly difficulties, and Field Service complaints, while recommending corrective measures.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

*Audits and analyzes data where quality of work produced is poor or erratic

  • Initiates or recommends changes

  • Inspects and accepts or rejects all purchased gauges or gauging equipment

  • Repairs gauges and certifies results when required.

  • Lays out parts using advanced mathematical calculations and precision

inspection equipment to properly check dimensions and relationships

  • Checking fixtures (including machine setups when required)

  • Utilize master gauges, measuring equipment and electrical assemblies

  • Utilize scanning technology and post processing of dimensional reports and Engineering Design models

Basic Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in Operations

  • Work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures

  • Walk, squat, and bend over for intervals at a time

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong commitment to safety and quality

  • Meticulous and analytical nature

Top Candidates will also possess:

  • Ability to perform basic math and simple computer operations

  • Forklift License

The Electrification & Energy Solutions Division is looking for a System Integration Technical Lead that will be part of the E&T Integrated Design Solutions team with accountability for integrating batteries, motors, inverters, power converters, and associated control systems into electrified power solutions for Energy &Transportation applications.

This person will work with our E&T Industry partners including IPSD, Marine, Electric Power, D&FP, Oil & Gas and Rail to define and execute the enterprise strategy for Electrification. This will include working with system architects and simulation experts to define electrified power source architecture concepts, execute system evaluations and optimizations, and complete trade-off assessments on attributes such as performance, energy efficiency, customer Total Cost of Ownership, and R&D timeline / investment.

The candidate will then work with and across E&T to define system requirements based on Voice of Customer, Voice of Business, and Voice of Regulation and identify nodes of opportunity for leveraged system and component development. They will support product development activities throughout the NTI and NPI program phases, providing technical leadership for concept studies, technical demonstrators, commercial demonstrators, and NPI programs. This person will define and validate full Electrification solutions for our E&T Industry partners as they develop products to meet their customers' GHG emissions reduction goals.

As a Senior Design Engineer for the Undercarriage and Drivetrain Systems Team you will be responsible for selection, design, and improvement of undercarriage and drivetrain components for NPI (New Product Introduction) programs as well as supporting resolution of NPI and CPI (continuous product improvement) issues. Other responsibilities will include component design, project management, systems integration, performance analysis, cost evaluation, and collaboration with suppliers, product groups, internal engineering experts, and the Global Strategic Sourcing team.

Job Duties / Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • New product design and development including project planning, part design, systems integration, procurement of test bed and prototype iron, field follow of pilot machines, and production implementation.

  • Technical support to the manufacturing teams at BCP facilities worldwide.

  • Resolution and support of CPI issues.

  • Interface with suppliers to improve quality while developing effective working relationships.

  • Collaborate with internal process partners on technical, commercial, and program issues.

  • Support cost reduction efforts with emphasis on value adjusted cost effectiveness.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering

  • 5+ years relevant design engineering experience

  • Component design, performance analysis, and/or validation experience (preferably in Drivetrain or undercarriage)

  • Experience in 3D Modeling (CREO / Pro/E)

As a Senior Design Engineer for the Undercarriage and Drivetrain Systems Team you will be responsible for selection, design, and improvement of undercarriage and drivetrain components for NPI (New Product Introduction) programs as well as supporting resolution of NPI and CPI (continuous product improvement) issues. Other responsibilities will include component design, project management, systems integration, performance analysis, cost evaluation, and collaboration with suppliers, product groups, internal engineering experts, and the Global Strategic Sourcing team.

Job Duties / Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • New product design and development including project planning, part design, systems integration, procurement of test bed and prototype iron, field follow of pilot machines, and production implementation.

  • Technical support to the manufacturing teams at BCP facilities worldwide.

  • Resolution and support of CPI issues.

  • Interface with suppliers to improve quality while developing effective working relationships.

  • Collaborate with internal process partners on technical, commercial, and program issues.

  • Support cost reduction efforts with emphasis on value adjusted cost effectiveness.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering

  • 5+ years relevant design engineering experience

  • Component design, performance analysis, and/or validation experience (preferably in Drivetrain or undercarriage)

  • Experience in 3D Modeling (CREO / Pro/E)

  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and effectively prioritize work.

  • NCR Coordinator: Create and process NCRs in SAP. Process out and dispose of material in SAP. Support processes for dispositioning rejected parts.

  • Grief Coordinator: Order, track and deliver grief parts, monitor and deliver on shortage reports and process, research red tag and deliver parts from the grief rack or to the appropriate kits or work centers and support the SORT process.

JOB SUMMARY: Support various accounts receivable management functions and bring timely resolution to customer accounts including but not limited to: regular customer past due accounts, repossession, legal accounts, and recovery activity for Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation (CFSC).

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities may vary but, may include various combinations of the following.

  1. Collects delinquent active contracts through telephone contact and field visits.

  2. Authorizes and conducts equipment repossessions, which includes authorizing legal correspondence and arranging for transportation and safe storage of the units.

  3. Reports past due results and recommends additions, deletions and modifications to the Potential Credit Loss Report.

  4. Develops and nurtures a strong working relationship with dealers, Territory Managers and customers in an assigned portfolio.

  5. Coordinates timely resolution of customer service issues on past due accounts.

  6. Prepares their individual regular or legal collection past due reports and statistics for submission to management weekly or as requested by management.

  7. May provide timely reporting of repossessed assets or accounts being referred for legal action to other business units as required, including Asset Management and Legal.

  8. May provide status and historical reporting to Customer Accounts staff and management on collection activities and accounts placed for repossession within the department.

  9. Reviews accounts that have been identified as non-collectable to establish deficiency amounts and determine the most appropriate and cost-effective means by which to pursue outstanding accounts balances.

  10. Analyzes the ability to collect on recovery accounts, collects deficiency balances and coordinates recovery efforts through collection agencies.

  11. Collects sale proceeds on private sales.

  12. Contacts customers to identify willingness to pay and negotiate a lump sum balance payment, arrange a payment schedule or negotiate a contract settlement.

  13. Evaluates the customer's credit worthiness if a payment schedule appears to be the best alternative for resolving an outstanding balance. To accomplish this, Dun & Bradstreet and credit bureau reports are reviewed and evaluated. If warranted, an individual asset search is completed.

  14. Provides the customer credit rating on charged off accounts to credit bureaus and other potential debtors.

  15. Serves as an active liaison between CFSC and the collection agencies to answer inquiries and resolve account issues promptly.

  16. When warranted, works with approved collection agencies to recover outstanding balances when direct customer contact has been unsuccessful. Subsequently approves payment schedules or negotiated contract settlement suggested by the collection agent.

  17. Makes recommendations to the Asset Management staff regarding how repossessed equipment should be liquidated.

  18. Monitors and calculates potential loss on accounts with input from Asset Management/CRSI.

  19. Establishes account deficiency through Strict Foreclosure or following the sale of equipment and subsequent collection of sale proceeds from the selling agent.

  20. Prepares standardized transmittal forms for transfer of accounts to legal status.

  21. Prepares documents necessary to write off the account balance following equipment liquidation and sends a notice of deficiency to the customer.

  22. Prepares and files Proof of Claim on bankruptcy cases.

  23. Based upon an analysis of accounts and customer assets, makes recommendation regarding the legal strategy for pursuing outstanding account balances.

  24. Coordinates with the Legal Department to provide information needed to issue judgments and garnishments and pursue litigation.

  25. Performs equipment audits on special accounts and authorizes and evaluates equipment inspections as needed.

  26. Monitors payments received from legal accounts and takes appropriate collection action when a delinquency has been identified.

  27. Monitors suspense payment balances originating from legal accounts.

  28. Performs buyout calculations on legal accounts.

  29. Prepares periodic status reports, summaries, statistics, results and historical reporting to Customer Accounts staff and management on repossession, recovery or legal activities on accounts.

  30. Participates in accomplishment of continuous improvement objectives for the department. Progress toward accomplishment of these is measured through maintenance of necessary measurements and analysis of associated data. Participates in the identification of problem areas and development of resolutions to address them.

  31. Understands the Harassment policy of the company and is responsible for its application in all aspects of employment.

This position within Cat Electronics will support the development of embedded software for electronics control systems for diesel engine, battery electric, and fuel cell applications. Areas of responsibility include configuration, integration, build and testing of embedded software on diesel engine systems; testing software for embedded electronic control systems includes requirements development and verification of software in a bench environment as well as troubleshooting software or system defects.

Job Duties
