Job Summary

Dominion Energy Ohio is currently hiring a Mechanic B for our Akron Wilbeth shop location. This Mechanic (Auto & Heavy Truck Repair) will:

  • Perform all types of repairs on vehicles and all transportation related work equipment (cars, natural gas powered pick-ups, 33,000 GVW trucks, backhoes and trailers);

  • Work under the direction of higher classifications or supervision;

  • Assist higher classification in the performance of their duties;

  • Maintain mechanical condition of vehicles and transportation related equipment by performing such duties as, but not limited to: Vehicle inspections, repairing/rebuilding engines, drive trains, brake repair (air brakes and hydraulic), hydraulic system diagnosis and repairs, air conditioning and suspension repairs;

  • Perform Oxy/acetylene cutting, brazing, and electric welding as needed;

  • Use diagnostic equipment such as hand held diagnostic scanners/laptop based troubleshooting software;

  • Prepare and submit associated paperwork;

  • Perform other duties as directed within the "B" Mechanic classification or below.

This is a safety-sensitive position, subject to random drug testing.

This position will work 2nd shift (3 PM - 11PM).

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Minimum Requirements (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications):

  • At least 5 years professional automotive, commercial trucking, and heavy equipment repair experience (repairing engines, drive trains, brake repair, hydraulic system diagnosis and repairs, air conditioning, suspension repairs and vehicle inspections);

  • Directly Related Experience includes: repair and servicing of passenger and light duty-trucks; repair and servicing of medium- to heavy-duty trucks; or repair and servicing of off-road/construction equipment and trailers;

  • Automotive maintenance and service experience at a commercial garage or a car dealer;

  • Must have a temporary CDL "A" License, instruction permit identification card (TIPIC), at the time of the interview.

  • Must obtain a commercial drivers license and all applicable endorsements before the end of the newly hired employees 90 day working day probation period; the probation period begins the first day of employment (assistance obtaining CDL may be available).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience troubleshooting vehicle onboard electronic systems;

  • Experience using Tech I scanner or laptop based trouble shooting software;

  • Familiarity with operating oxy/acetylene torch or other electric welding equipment;

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and the diagnostics related to troubleshooting;

  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose fuel injection systems;

  • Experience in mounting and balancing tires;

  • Ability to demonstrate the performance of the typical job duties of an experienced Mechanic;

  • Proficiency in operation desktop computers (performing data entry of parts and labor, internet, email).

  • Experience with hydraulic systems maintenance and repair;

  • Experience with repair/maintenance of natural gas powered vehicles (NGV);

  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel;

  • ASE certification is preferred and/or Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) certifications;

  • Must be able to pass Tow Motor Training Class and operate a tow motor

Job Summary

This position is being posted as an Air Emissions Monitoring Specialist I or Air Emissions Monitoring Specialist II

This is the first or second level of a three-level series which provides technical support for continuous emissions measurement systems (CEMS) configuration and support to ensure or improve compliance with all air quality regulations at a power generation facility (e.g. coal fired plant). Performs basic and/or routine assignments and tasks under the direct supervision of the supervisor or work leader, which are designed to develop and enhance technical or engineering expertise, knowledge and abilities for progression to the next level. Under the supervision of a supervisor or work leader, this entry level position applies information gathered from quality assurance and environmental tests, performs engineering or technical calculations, analysis, research and design to further develop professional knowledge and abilities and to provide technical support in designated company area or specialized function. This may include analyzing and evaluating systems, equipment, regulatory requirements, and programs for assurance that they are modified, operated, and maintained in accordance with Company policy, and regulatory requirements. Prepares the Continuous Monitoring System (CMS) audit report for submission. With guidance, applies basic knowledge of environmental regulations to conduct the annual span and range evaluation of CEMS, calculates the annual capacity factors for peaking unit determination, reviews data for errors, and loads data into the Emissions Collection and Monitoring Plan System (ECMPS) for management's review, prior to submission to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Provides regulatory reporting assistance, and drafts technical reports for CMS events as needed.

This role does not function as a technician in modifying, operating or maintaining CEMS. Limited exercise of judgment is required on detail of work. Assists specialists with report analysis and preparation, and data management. May assist in problem analysis and developing compliance strategies, working as an individual contributor, or as part of a team. Will be required to learn how to lead small group knowledge sessions on regulatory data reviews and technical reporting requirements, applying basic understanding and knowledge of environmental federal and state regulations pertaining to plant emissions.

Practical Work duties: Works in an outdoor, energized substation environment and proficient in the safe operation of multiple HV and diagnostic test instruments; Maintains NERC background compliance requirements, continual safety training, nuclear unescorted access and OEM specific training; Assists in the installation, maintenance and repair of high-voltage electrical equipment including procurement of materials, spare parts and specialty tools; Analyzes test data to determine the adherence to manufacturer's performance criteria; Performs multiple administrative duties including test data entry, SAP work order completion, Install/Remove form entry and parts acquisition; Under senior E.E. personnel guidance, performs testing and troubleshooting in the resolution of equipment issues discovered during equipment commissioning and routine maintenance; Assists with and performs substation ground grid testing and interprets test data to determine substation/power station ground grid integrity; Assists with the development of transformer fill procedure documents for adherence to OEM assembly, vacuum and oil filling requirements to ensure proper operation and warranty adherence of EHV power transformers; Assists with the operation of mobile transformer processing rigs including gas and moisture extraction high vacuum pumps, oil circulation pumps, oil immersed heaters, dry air production compressors and refrigerated ice traps to ensure a safe and thorough transformer oil-filling; Analyzes oil processing data (vacuum, moisture content, heat absorption, dewpoint and dielectric) to determine transformer oil filling quality.

**Requires successful completion of the Electrical Equipment Technician Development Program Steps 1 -2 or equivalent directly related utility/industrial experience.

Maintains NERC background compliance requirements, continual safety training, nuclear unescorted access and OEM specific training: Successfully complete all training and performance expectations included in the E.E.T.D.P. steps 3 and 4 including the following: STEP 3: Substation layout and basic transformer maintenance; Introductory course in switching devices; Print reading with troubleshooting courses; Ground grids in a substation testing/maintenance; Testing and maintaining transformers. STEP 4: Testing and maintaining equipment; Testing and maintaining capacitor banks (transmission substations); Testing and maintaining circuit breakers; Testing and maintaining batteries and chargers; Transformer monitoring.

Assists in the installation, maintenance and repair of high-voltage electrical equipment including procurement of materials, spare parts and specialty tools; Analyzes test data to determine the adherence to manufacturer's performance criteria; Performs multiple administrative duties including test data entry, SAP work order completion, Install/Remove form entry and parts acquisition; Under senior E.E. personnel guidance, performs testing and troubleshooting in the resolution of equipment issues discovered during equipment commissioning and routine maintenance; Assists with and performs substation ground grid testing and interprets test data to determine substation/power station ground grid integrity; Assists with the development of transformer oil processing procedures to develop required skills and knowledge.

Maintains NERC background compliance requirements, continual safety training, nuclear unescorted access and OEM specific training. Successfully complete all training and performance expectations included in the E.E.T.D.P.

Job Summary

This role manages the ET (Electric Transmission) Power System Facility Rating engineering team to provide system analysis of the electric transmission network grid through modeling, simulations, and other engineering techniques. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining documentation for meeting PJM, FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) Order 1000, NERC (North American Reliability Corporation) Reliability Standards, and Electric Transmission Planning Criteria and routines. A primary focus includes core system facility rating engineering requirements, data mining for transmission lines and substation conductor and equipment ratings, and data analytics on historical data to validate solution proposals for rating updates and for projects in the present or future Regional Transmission Expansion Plan.

As the Supervisor of the ET Facility Ratings Engineering Team, you would be expected to lead ET Planning through the following:

  • Analysis to validate power system facility ratings for all Electric Transmission conductors and power equipment energized and planned for energization in the Electric Transmission projects approved in PJM's Regional Transmission Expansion Planning Process (RTEPP) load connection projects.

  • Analysis to validate power system facility ratings for all Electric Transmission conductors and power equipment planned for energization in the Electric Transmission projects approved in support of generation interconnection projects.

  • Maintenance and process improvements for the facility ratings practices and databases needed to properly compile and coordinate workflows and manage ratings for all Electric Transmission conductors and power equipment in substations and in transmission line right-of-way.

  • This team has the lead in meeting our transmission ownership's methodology NERC Facility Design and Maintenance (example: Mandatory Standard FAC-008, Facility Ratings).

  • Developing and maintaining power system facility rating standards for use during detail design and engineering evolutions.

Job Summary

This role coordinates with internal and external customers for the design and installation of electric distribution facilities. Prepares and submits Right-of-Way, environmental, and highway/railroad permit requests. Communicates company policy and procedures, electric service requirements, and project schedule to customers. Reconciles construction as-builts to ensure mapping accuracy in GIS. Assists in service restoration during outages.

Identifies safety issues-Checks equipment and work area regularly to ensure safety and compliance; identifies hazards and improvements that could prevent safety problems; evaluates impact of decisions and actions on own and others' safety.

Job Summary

This role provides Power Generation station warehousing coordination, materials and inventory management, bill of materials creation processes, and service contractor support. Works closely with maintenance to determine if plant equipment is obsolete; provides oversight, to include the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), in the anticipation and disposal of station's hardware and software equipment such as computer, electronics, hardware, digital electrical switchgear etc. and vendor planned support with field service and manufacturing abandonment. Provides in-depth analytical support through various Inventory Optimization techniques, process management, and business intelligence to support consistency, cost management, and operational excellence across power generation sites. Ensures stocking levels are appropriate when considering the operational constraints and risks associated with supply volatility. Responsible for training and providing direction to site personnel on Supply Chain Management (SCM) processes, warehouse safety, and inventory control to include storekeepers and trainees. Provide guidance and support to SCM Site Supervisors, ensuring Supply Chain objectives and processes are met. Provides high-level, backup coverage for departmental reporting. May serve as site representative and site contact for specific service contractors such as HVAC, landscaping, and elevators. Supports station work planning as needed to include establishment of new materials including the development of bills of materials, and stockroom efficiencies. This role will provide supply chain support for multiple sites (Brunswick, Greensville, and Roanoke Rapids/Gaston Power Stations), with travel between the sites required.

Job Summary

Independently coordinates with internal and external customers for the design and installation of electric distribution facilities associated with residential subdivision projects.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as single point of contact for customer/Contractor/municipality; perform due diligence to accurately determine project needs and responsible Design Group; prepare or assist with designs and cost estimates, based upon scope of work and schedule constraints; Responsible for coordination of all permits, joint use issues, and easements in timely manner.

  • Quality control associated with subdivision layout to ensure correct GIS mapping is in place prior to submitting projects to CDG; participation in monthly CDG conference calls.

  • Reconcile construction as-builts to ensure mapping accuracy in GIS.

  • Designers represent the Company throughout the design process as the assigned point of contact for the customer.

  • Participates in the 2-year electric distribution designer training program and is evaluated through class participation, practical field experiences, and continuous advisory reviews.

  • Inspects project sites, designates facility placement, determines metering requirements, and prepares service agreements and detailed drawings utilizing Arc-FM, Auto-Cad, or other tools as appropriate.

  • Analyzes electrical load data and performs calculations to determine size and location of electric distribution facilities based on engineering standards, existing or proposed easements, Right-of-Way permits and operational needs and requirements.

  • Utilizes work management system to prepare cost estimates based on design of new construction or modification of existing facilities.

  • Coordinates installation/relocation of other utilities (i.e. cable television, phone, etc).

  • Prepares underground agreements, billing authorities, revenue calculations, negotiates and secures Right-of-Way permits, environmental permits, easement agreements and highway/railroad permits.

  • Reconciles construction field adjustments (as-builts) to ensure mapping accuracy in the Geographic Information System (GIS).

  • Identifies safety issues - checks equipment and work area regularly to ensure safety and compliance; identifies hazards and improvements that could prevent safety problems; evaluates impact of decisions and actions on own and others' safety.

Works closely with maintenance to determine if plant equipment is obsolete; provides oversight, to include the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), in the anticipation and disposal of station's hardware and software equipment such as computer, electronics, hardware, digital electrical switchgear etc. and vendor planned support with field service and manufacturing abandonment. Provides in-depth analytical support through various Inventory Optimization techniques, process management, and business intelligence to support consistency, cost management, and operational excellence across power generation sites. Ensures stocking levels are appropriate when considering the operational constraints and risks associated with supply volatility. Responsible for training and providing direction to site personnel on Supply Chain Management (SCM) processes, warehouse safety, and inventory control to include storekeepers and trainees. Provide guidance and support to SCM Site Supervisors, ensuring Supply Chain objectives and processes are met. Provides high-level, backup coverage for departmental reporting. May serve as site representative and site contact for specific service contractors such as HVAC, landscaping, and elevators. Supports station work planning as needed to include establishment of new materials including the development of bills of materials, and stockroom efficiencies. This role will provide supply chain support for multiple sites (Brunswick, Greensville, and Roanoke Rapids/Gaston Power Stations), with travel between the sites required.

The successful candidate will handle all materials at the Station.

  • Contact other sites and transportation for handling and transferring material and equipment.

  • Complete required paperwork including HAZMAT handling/placards and chain of custody paperwork.

  • Interact on a daily basis with peers, customers, contractors, truck drivers, couriers, etc.

  • Operate standard forklifts (4,000 lb. - 12,000 lb.) and specialized forklifts - wire guide, narrow aisle.

  • Utilize other material handling equipment - electric and manual pallet jacks, scissor lifts, hand trucks, carts, etc.

  • Safely load and unload various types of trucks - flat beds and box trucks.

  • Safely handle, move, reorganize, repalletize material for its appropriate storage requirements from original packing upon completion of inspection and receipt.

  • Retrieve material from various storage locations for issuance/replace material in various storage locations from returns.

  • Operate various power and hand tools (band saw, drill, screwdriver, hammer, pumps, calipers, etc.).

  • Determine safe method to handle pipe, boiler tube from truck to storage locations by utilization of forklifts, carts, chocks. Includes utilization of band saw and other shop tools to cut material to length.

  • Package, band material for shipment to work areas within site and from facility.

  • Utilize SAP to perform receipt, issue, return, transfer and utility sales transactions per SCM procedures

  • Ensure accuracy of transactions meet SOX compliance requirements.

  • Control Batch managed inventory per procedures, through documenting in SAP and proper physical marking of material.

  • Ensure appropriate documentation is received with material, such as cert, heat, MSDS, etc.

Job Summary

This position requires a self-starter who can effectively prioritize and who doesn't mind driving and working alone. *This role will be either in Springfield and/or Fairfax offices.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for the following:

  • The repair and maintenance of both overhead and underground electrical distribution lines

  • Being the first responder to power outages

  • Working closely with the Regional Operations Centers within the Dominion service territory

This position requires a minimum of 5 years' experience in overhead and underground electrical line work (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications)

*The selected individual must be able to assess at a competency level 4 in the Dominion Line Worker Development program in both overhead and underground energized line work.

Job Summary

The Offshore Wind team is looking for an Engineering intern for the summer of 2024. The position will be based out of our Richmond, VA office but will work on our Offshore Wind Project.

  • Provide technical input, in the discipline of mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, or controls engineering, through various phases of project construction and execution.

  • Candidate may be involved in scope document creation based off of input provided by supervisor or technical leads. Candidate may review detailed engineering drawings and verify technical scope inclusion. Candidate may review detailed engineering drawings and verify construction adherence during field implementation. Candidate will support lead engineers in researching and answering technical questions as requested.

  • Candidate may perform various support functions for various stages of major projects including business development support, site development, permitting support (air, water, state, local, etc...), scope development, contract negotiations (equipment, engineering or -EPC- engineering, procurement, and construction contracts), construction activities, commissioning and transition to commercial operation.

  • Projects may range in size from major complex projects to smaller improvement projects at existing generating facilities. Projects include natural gas generating, renewable gas, battery storage, solar, offshore wind, heavy civil terraforming.

  • Candidate will be expected to utilize fundamental engineering principles to perform calculations, analysis, research tasks, or problem solve.

  • Candidate will be expected to be learn and become familiar with techniques, approaches, and practices used to evaluate options and provide recommendations.

  • Candidate will be expected to coordinate with experienced internal engineers, environmental personnel, or site teams to develop professional engineering working knowledge.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • Must be enrolled in an Engineering degree program from an ABET accredited Engineering program at a four year or post-graduate college or university. Preferred majors: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.

  • Graduation date of spring 2025 or later

  • Candidates must have a 3.0 minimum GPA

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to drive a company vehicle.
